Chapter 443 The Fortune Teller

A few days later, Sheng Ying returned from her run and suddenly noticed a Taoist priest telling fortunes not far from the villa entrance. It was rather unexpected to find a Taoist priest in this villa area on the outskirts of Beijing.

Sheng Ying didn't intend to get involved, since she was in the modern world and didn't really believe in things like ghosts and spirits.

But as she passed by the Taoist priest's small table, the priest suddenly called out to her.

"Little girl, don't you want to know why you came here?"

These words made Sheng Ying suddenly turn back and stare intently at the fortune teller. She looked him over carefully and realized she truly didn't recognize him, and he didn't seem like someone who would cause trouble.

"Where did you come from, Taoist priest? And why are you suddenly saying this?"

The Taoist priest's weathered face was deeply lined with wrinkles, and he had a long beard. He also wore a pair of round sunglasses, a must-have for fortune-telling Taoist priests, which made him look quite comical.

"You don't need to know this. I've come only to inform you that there's no need to dwell on your transmigration. Just follow your heart. Since you're here, make the best of it. Everything has a cause and effect; your coming here is both a cause and an effect..."

Sheng Ying frowned, watching the fortune teller ramble on and on without getting to the point. He sounded just like her unreliable master from her past life. But her master in her past life was incredibly vain; he shouldn't be this slovenly, and he didn't even look like her.

"Master, could you please get to the point? I'm about to go to work."

Since this Taoist priest knows their origins, he must also know whether they can go back, or how to do so.

The Taoist priest was interrupted, but he did not get angry. He insisted on finishing what he had not said.

“In your previous life, you should have died of old age, but your life ended prematurely because of worldly affairs. This is the cause I am talking about. You came from another time and space to live in Mingying’s place. This is the effect.”

Sheng Ying nodded knowingly: "So you mean I want to continue my life, which ended prematurely in my previous life, right? What about A Qi?"

The Taoist priest stroked his beard, looked down and then peered at her through the gap in his sunglasses: "As for the other one, that is Mingying's karma."

The Taoist priest stopped talking after saying that.

Sheng Ying looked at him with a headache. Why did this stinky Taoist priest only tell half the story? Was Ming Ying and Rong Mo destined to be a couple, but they both happened to be in trouble, so she and A Qi just happened to travel through time and fulfill their regrets?

"Um, is it still possible for Aqi and me to go back?"

The Taoist priest pretended to examine the tortoise shell and copper coins on the table, then studied them for a long time.

"The divination indicates that two people will come and three will return. How interesting, hahaha."

Blooming cherry blossoms.......

Is this Taoist priest insane? They came in pairs, and they're going to take one of them back with them. Who will they take?

Upon hearing this, Sheng Ying no longer wanted to listen and prepared to leave, but was stopped by the Taoist priest.

"Little girl, I've spent so much time calculating for you, aren't you going to give me some reward?"

Sheng Ying gave the Taoist priest a careful look, which made the old man feel uneasy. If this girl didn't want to pay, fine, but she shouldn't reveal his identity.

Then Sheng Ying asked, "How much do you want?"

The Taoist priest rubbed his two thin, bony hands together. "It's all fate. It's karma that I met this young lady. The decision is yours. A thousand is fine, ten thousand would be best..."

Sheng Ying quickly stopped her: "Stop, ten thousand it is, I'll transfer the money to you."

The Taoist priest spread his hands: "I don't have a cell phone, I want gold, and I know you have it."

Sheng Ying now strongly suspects that this old Taoist priest is a charlatan who doesn't even have a cell phone.

And how could he know that she carried gold with her? Could it be that he came from the same time and space as her? But I don't know him.

Sheng Ying slowly approached him, wanting to test whether he had spiritual power.

The Taoist priest saw through her thoughts at a glance: "Little girl, you are no match for me, and I have absolutely no intention of harming you, so you don't need to make a move. Give me the gold, and I will disappear immediately and will not bother you again."

Sheng Ying asked suspiciously, "You swear?"

The Taoist priest chuckled and said, "Even if I swear an oath, it won't work. Heaven doesn't care."

Sheng Ying didn't want to waste any more time, so she gave him a bag of gold, hoping he would disappear quickly.

The Taoist priest accepted the gold, his face beaming with joy: "Hahaha, little girl, you're so generous! I'll be going now. Oh, by the way, here, take this. It'll be useful in the future."

The old man tossed the object in his hand to Sheng Ying, who caught it and examined it closely. She couldn't understand the round object no matter how she looked at it. Just as she was about to ask the old Taoist priest, she looked up and found that everyone around her was gone.

Now Sheng Ying was even more suspicious that this old Taoist priest was from another time and space.

Sheng Ying casually tossed the disc into her spatial storage and prepared to return to her villa to wash up and go to work.

As they reached the villa's entrance, Sheng Ying suddenly asked the bodyguard, "Did you see an old Taoist priest just now?"

The bodyguard shook his head: "Madam, I didn't see any Taoist priests. Has something happened?"

"Oh, it's nothing."
