After arriving at the company, Sheng Ying thought for a long time about the old Taoist priest she had met that morning, and finally couldn't help but tell Rong Mo about it.
After listening to Rong Mo, there was a long silence on the other end of the phone. Just as Sheng Ying was about to ask Rong Mo a question, Rong Mo spoke.
"I need to think this over carefully. Jiaojiao, let's discuss it after we get home from get off work, okay?"
"good."
After hanging up the phone, Sheng Ying couldn't help but wonder if what the old Taoist priest said was true—that she should have died of old age in her previous life—then she should have had several decades left to live. But what about Ming Ying? Was this her fate, or did she, like her, die an unnatural death?
And then there's Rong Mo, who was originally in a vegetative state but has suddenly regained consciousness. To outsiders, this is nothing short of a medical miracle. Or perhaps it's as if fate brought them together in this world, just as the old Taoist priest said, to simultaneously consume the remaining lifespan of her previous life!
After they go back, will Mingying and Rongmo return? Will they retain their memories?
It's all a mystery. It's all that stinky Taoist priest's fault. He only said half of what he meant. He's so annoying.
Because of this incident, Sheng Ying couldn't concentrate on the company all day; all she wanted was to go home quickly. Perhaps only Rong Mo could explain all these mysteries to her.
At 5:30, Sheng Ying grabbed her backpack and ran towards the underground parking garage, just like a working person eager to get off work.
This greatly surprised the employees of Sheng Ying Group. The chairman was not usually like this. He was always diligent and hardworking. What could have happened?
Sheng Ying had no time to care about what her employees were thinking. After getting into the car, she stepped on the gas and drove off.
When I got home, I saw Rong Mo already sitting on the sofa reading documents.
Sheng Ying rushed over, and Rong Mo quickly put down the documents and pulled her into his arms.
Rong Mo kissed her head: "What's wrong? Is it still because of what happened this morning?"
Sheng Ying nodded in his arms: "I just can't figure it out. What did that stinky Taoist priest mean by those words?"
“It wasn’t very clear over the phone, Jiaojiao, please repeat it to me.”
Sheng Ying nodded and repeated her conversation with the old Taoist priest that morning verbatim, without missing a single word.
Rong Mo pondered for a moment, thinking that the stinky Taoist priest Jiao Jiao was talking about must be the one who sent them here.
"Jiaojiao, have you ever considered that the reason we were able to get here might be that old geezer's doing?"
Upon hearing Rong Mo's words, Sheng Ying remained silent for a moment. But they had been living at Granny Xue's house and had transmigrated here after falling asleep. How could they have anything to do with that stinky Taoist priest?
Rong Mo could tell what she was thinking just by looking at her expression.
"Jiaojiao, think about it. If it really was him who sent us here, then he must be someone who transcends the Three Realms. So, with his appearance changing at will, what kind of accidents could happen?"
"Moreover, if all of this is true, then his purpose in coming here is to reassure us that we can stay here in peace, and he will naturally take us away when the time comes. So, we don't need to worry about whether we can go back, or how we can get back."
Sheng Ying nodded. She shared Rong Mo's opinion on the matter. However, her current concern was that if they went back, and Ming Ying and Rong Mo themselves returned, would they have their memories or objections to what they had done in this body?
Sheng Ying told Rong Mo about this, and Rong Mo shook his head with amusement.
"Silly girl, we were able to get here because their lives are over. Otherwise, how could we have entered this body? Were we supposed to fight them and whoever wins would take over this body?"
Sheng Ying found a comfortable spot in his arms and hugged him tightly. She closed her eyes and recalled the Taoist priest's words, which seemed to be similar to Rong Mo's explanation.
"Aqi, when can we go back? When we get back, will Wanwan, Fengnian, and Fengyu already have a house full of children and grandchildren?"
Rong Mo chuckled softly, "I think the flow rate of this spacetime is different from the spacetime we were in before. Think about it, if we stayed here for decades, our bodies over there would have deteriorated by now. Although lifespan is longer over there, a body that hasn't moved for decades can't survive, right? So what's the point of us going back?"
"Besides, even if Wanwan gets married without my consent, I will not agree."
Upon hearing Rong Mo's words, Sheng Ying couldn't help but laugh.
"Pfft, Aqi, if we really go back for a long time, Wanwan and the others will definitely have a house full of children and grandchildren by then. Even if you disagree, it will be too late."
Rong Mo listened to Sheng Ying's hurtful words. Although he couldn't be sure, he had a feeling it wouldn't happen. However, he couldn't make a guarantee right now, since even when he would return was unknown!
Let's focus on living our lives well in the present. As for how and when to go back, I'm sure that's all in the hands of fate.
