Chapter 449 Returning to the Heavenly Spirit Continent

A year later, Sheng Ying and Rong Mo both received text messages and videos from unknown sources, asking them to go to the back mountain of a villa area on the outskirts of Beijing to watch a meteor shower in five days.

At first, Sheng Ying and Rong Mo were suspicious that the text messages and videos were being harassed. But later they realized that it was probably their chance to go back.

Sheng Ying and Rong Mo asked everyone around them, and none of them had received such text messages or videos. Only the two of them had received them. If it wasn't for that reason, what could it be?

Just as they were preparing to hand Xixi over to Qingjun and Ronglu, another text message arrived, asking them to bring their daughter along.

Sheng Ying and Rong Mo now realized that the sender of the text message and video was the old Taoist priest they had met years ago, who had been secretly observing them all these years.

Sheng Ying and her family drove to the back of the villa area, which looked desolate and messy, with few people around. Rong Mo carried his daughter and led Sheng Ying to a relatively clean spot.

After waiting for a long time, sure enough, a meteor shower appeared in the sky. The family of three looked up at the meteor shower, and Sheng Ying and Rong Mo would occasionally look around, hoping that the person who could take them back would appear.

But after waiting for a long time, not a single person came, not even a stray cat. Just as Rong Muxi was getting drowsy and Sheng Ying and Rong Mo were about to take their daughter home, a beam of light suddenly appeared in the sky, traversing the starry heavens.

The old Taoist priest was still dressed the same as before. When he saw the family of three, he quickly ran over with a smile.

"Oh my, this little girl is so pretty! Little girls, are you ready?"

Sheng Ying frowned and asked, "Can you really take us back?"

The old Taoist priest stroked his beard with a smile: "Little girl, you didn't believe me, but you've come anyway. Don't worry, I guarantee the three of you won't be separated. Now give this little one in your arms to me, otherwise she will be affected by the spatial turbulence and be shattered to pieces."

Although Rong Mo was unwilling, he did not want his daughter to suffer any harm, so he had no choice but to hand her over to the person in front of him.

The old Taoist priest took Xixi and said, "Lie down now. I'm going to extract your souls, and then we'll find a suitable place to bury these two bodies."

Sheng Ying and Rong Mo nodded, lay down, held hands, and closed their eyes.

With a wave of his wide sleeves, the old Taoist priest released the souls of Feng Qinghuang and Rong Qi from the bodies of Sheng Ying and Rong Mo, and they floated in mid-air.

The old Taoist priest's fingertips flashed with spiritual energy, and a large pit appeared on the ground. With his palms facing upwards, he used his spiritual energy to drag Sheng Ying and Rong Mo's bodies into the pit, and with a flick of his sleeve, he instantly buried them.

The old Taoist priest withdrew his hand, intending to collect the two people's souls, but Sheng Ying stopped him.

"Taoist priest, let's erect a monument for them! It should read: 'The husband of Sheng Ying and the wife of Rong Mo are buried together.'"

After listening, the old Taoist priest nodded, casually found a larger stone, and used his spiritual power to shape it into a tombstone, leaving inscriptions as Feng Qinghuang had instructed.

After everything was done, the old Taoist priest collected the souls of Feng Qinghuang and Rong Qi into the compass, and then sacrificed his own lifespan to collect Rong Muxi into the compass as well, before stepping into the space-time tunnel.

After returning to Granny Xue's residence, the old Taoist priest hurried to the back room and transferred the souls of Feng Qinghuang and Rong Qi into their bodies. Finally, he released Rong Muxi as well.

After Rong Muxi came out, she was still unconscious, so the old Taoist priest could only leave her with her parents.

After doing all this, the old Taoist priest left the room.

When Granny Xue saw him come out, she quickly went up to support him, saying, "Now you can go and rest."

The old Taoist priest nodded: "They'll probably wake up tomorrow morning. I'll come back tomorrow morning."

Grandma Xue asked in confusion, "Are you coming over again?"

"Yes, we need to explain all of this to this little girl, or she'll never let it go."

He knew this little girl well; if she didn't want to understand or find the answer, she probably wouldn't have a good life for the rest of her days. How could he bear to do that?

Grandma Xue was also helpless about his decision: "Fine, you can decide for yourself. Go back and rest now."

The old Taoist priest nodded, turned around, and disappeared.

Grandma Xue looked in the direction he disappeared, then looked into the house. Sigh, none of them are any good. They're not even as good as Xiao Xue!

"Xue'er, come out, let's go, I'll stew some meat for you."

Xiao Xue had just been guarding her owner because she smelled their scent. Now, hearing that her grandmother was going to stew meat for her, she figured it wouldn't hurt to leave her owner for a while. So, she put her owner down and ran over to find her grandmother.

"Xue'er is such a good girl. Don't worry, your master is in my yard, nothing will happen to you."

Awooooo, I just missed my master!

Grandma Xue chuckled: "Alright, our Xue'er misses her master, but is Xue'er hungry?"

I'm hungry.

"That's settled then. Once you've eaten your fill, you can go back to guard your master."

Okay, okay.

Grandma Xue took Xue'er to the kitchen, while the people in the backyard room were fast asleep.
