Chapter 484 Extra Chapter: Rong Fengyu's Story (Part 1)

My name is Rong Fengyu, and I am the younger of the twins.

From a young age, my brother and I had very different personalities. I was the mischievous type, while my brother was calm and gentle, as if nothing concerned him. Of course, the two brothers couldn't be exactly the same.

We grew up together and went to the academy together, but our interests were completely different. My brother liked cultivating and reading, while I preferred to wander around, attending classes here today and there tomorrow.

Because I grew up in academy, everyone knows what I look like, so they don't say anything.

My brother and I have an older sister. When she was in the academy, she could keep an eye on me, but ever since she went to the realm of gods with an old man when I was nine, we've had far fewer opportunities to see each other.

Mother said that going to the realm of gods was my sister's own request; she yearned for a higher world and a more profound level of cultivation. Everyone has their own path to choose, and my sister simply wanted to go further.

My brother and I are quite content with our current situation. With family and friends around us, life is pretty good.

Otherwise, wouldn't Father and Mother be left without anyone to keep them company?

I grew up watching my father and mother's relationship and thought that such a relationship was hard to find. Moreover, I was never a well-behaved child, so I naturally didn't expect it.

But when I was sixteen, I met a girl who knew and understood me.

I remember that year, I was drinking in a tree when I suddenly heard a little girl's voice below.

The little girl was complaining about someone, I don't know who, she was complaining to a big tree. I found it so cute that I listened for a while longer. Normally, I would have already yelled at the person who was bothering me and sent them away.

After listening carefully, I realized the little girl was complaining about a classmate. I couldn't help but laugh at the end. The little girl noticed, and a burst of spiritual energy attacked, which Rong Fengyu easily dodged, leaping down from the branch in an instant.

"Little girl, what's wrong? Now that I've caught you swearing at your classmate, are you going to attack me?"

Meng Ruolan, her secret exposed, pointed at Rong Fengyu in a fit of rage and embarrassment: "You... how could you eavesdrop on other people's conversations?"

Rong Fengyu found her annoyed expression rather endearing, so he teased her, "Little girl, I've been drinking in the tree the whole time. I don't know who came here without even looking around, and started cursing at the tree hole. I haven't even said anything about disturbing my rest yet. Besides, if someone else hears you, you'll be in trouble."

Meng Ruolan stomped her feet angrily: "Rong Fengyu, you'd better forget about today, or I'll beat you up."

"Oh, you know me? Did you know I was here and deliberately came to bump into me?" Rong Fengyu was very experienced in this regard, after all, the two brothers' looks were among the best in Tianling Academy.

Meng Ruolan rolled her eyes at him: "Even if I were to run into someone by chance, it would be your brother, not you."

Rong Fengyu circled around Meng Ruolan and said, "With your looks and figure, my brother probably wouldn't be interested. But if it were me..."

Before Rong Fengyu could finish speaking, she received a slap. After slapping Rong Fengyu, Meng Ruolan arrogantly said, "Don't think that just because you're good-looking, I won't hit you. Let me tell you, Rong Fengyu, don't think that you two brothers are the only good-looking ones in this academy. Remember, good looks can't put food on the table. Also, you don't need to compare yourself to your brother. Everyone is an independent individual, and you don't need to change yourself for anyone. Maybe then I'll think more highly of you."

After Meng Ruolan finished speaking, she turned around and walked away gracefully, leaving Rong Fengyu touching her face where she had just been slapped, watching her departing figure.

What nonsense is this little girl spouting? He's not comparing himself to anyone, nor will he change himself for anyone. But he'll remember this slap. He'll settle the score after he finds out who this girl is.

Once everyone was out of sight, Rong Fengyu leaped back onto the tree branch and continued drinking and resting. However, Meng Ruolan's words kept repeating in her mind, and she slowly fell asleep.

When he woke up, the sun had already set, and it was time for dinner. Rong Fengyu returned to his master's courtyard and saw that his brother had already come back. Ever since their parents passed away, the two brothers would come to their master's place for meals and to keep him company.

"Going drinking again?" Rong Fengnian poured him a cup of tea.

After finishing her drink, Rong Fengyu nodded: "That old man's lectures are completely boring, I don't want to listen. By the way, brother, today under the plum blossom tree on the back hill, I met a very cute girl. You wouldn't believe it, that girl actually slapped me! I've never been slapped in the face before, not even once in my life..."

Rong Fengnian looked at his younger brother, who was talking non-stop and getting more and more excited, with a puzzled look in his eyes. Why was he so excited about being slapped? Had he been beaten stupid?

And who is that girl? I'll have someone investigate her later to see if it was intentional or accidental, otherwise I won't feel at ease with my silly younger brother.

This seemingly foolish younger brother may appear unruly and arrogant, but he is actually sensitive and kind-hearted, and wouldn't let anyone bully him.
