After a day's journey, the carriage finally arrived at the entrance to the desolate forest as the sun was setting.
The three men left the carriage with the guards and walked into the forest on foot.
Finding a relatively open spot near the river, Rong Qi spread an animal hide under a tree for Jiao Jiao to sit on. He then took out pots and pans from his ring, preparing to wash them by the river.
Mu Weiliang just watched him fiddle with his junior sister. Inwardly, she thought, "Couldn't you have put out another animal hide? Where am I supposed to sit? Am I supposed to sit on the ground? Is this how you, the Crown Prince Rong, treat your guests?"
Rong Qi suddenly turned to look at him: "Please, Your Highness, start a fire."
"I..." Mu Weiliang pointed to herself.
"What, don't tell me you can't?"
Mu Weiliang forced a smile and said, "Of course I will, but I don't make a move easily."
Rong Qi: "So you mean Jiao Jiao has to start the fire?"
Mu Weiliang turned her head and looked at her junior sister, who was sitting on the animal skin and smiling at them, and suddenly shivered. Forget it, she'd better start a fire herself. Putting aside whether her junior sister could start a fire, even if she wanted to, Rong Qi wouldn't let her do it.
Besides, he had never seen his junior sister start a fire before; could she even set the forest on fire?
Mu Weiliang gathered some firewood from the side and placed it in the center of the open space. She then tied a rack to it so she could hang the pot to simmer soup later. She also whittled a few wooden sticks, which she would use to grill meat and fish later.
After everything was ready, Mu Weiliang turned to her junior sister and said, "Junior sister, light a fire."
Upon hearing this, Feng Qinghuang immediately ran over. A burst of spiritual energy flashed from her fingertips, and a flame appeared. The spiritual energy sustained the flame until it ignited the firewood on the ground.
If someone saw this, they would probably say they were exaggerating a bit, that spiritual power could be used like that?
Unfortunately, the three people in front of them never considered whether it was exaggerated or not, or whether it would be a waste.
Rong Qi washed the utensils, cleaned some meat, caught a few fish, and then returned with the items.
Rong Qi's skillful movements while grilling meat were nothing like those of a pampered prince. Yet, his elegant demeanor was unparalleled, as if he were the moon in the sky, unattainable and beyond reach.
Rong Qi finished preparing everything and was ready to start grilling the meat, but he didn't want to see Mu Weiliang idle.
Mu Weiliang would go talk to Jiaojiao whenever he had free time, but he didn't want to. He wanted Jiaojiao to talk to him.
Rong Qi: "Your Highness, let's stay here tonight. Would you please set up two tents?"
Mu Weiliang, who was speaking, glanced at Rong Qi, then at his junior sister. "Never mind," he thought, "only I can do it; my junior sister can't. Besides, Rong Qi is still cooking, so only I can do it."
Feng Qinghuang also wanted to help: "Let me help you, Third Senior Brother!"
Upon hearing this, Rong Qi exclaimed, "Jiaojiao, I can't find the salt. Please help me find it quickly, otherwise the meat will not absorb the flavor properly once it's cooked!"
For the sake of her own appetite, Feng Qinghuang decisively gave up helping her third senior brother.
"Here you are, A-Qi, I'll help you find it."
Mu Weiliang couldn't bear to watch Rong Qi's actions; couldn't he come up with a better excuse?
After venting his frustrations, he focused on setting up the tent. He could hear Rong Qi and his junior sister talking nearby.
"Aqi, isn't the salt right here? How come we can't find it?"
Rong Qi looked aggrieved: "Oh, I was probably too busy and for a moment I didn't even notice it was right under my nose."
Feng Qinghuang: "It's alright, it's alright, Jiaojiao is here, Jiaojiao will help you. Just tell me what you need."
Rong Qi: "But, Your Highness, wouldn't it be too strenuous for one person to set up a tent?"
Feng Qinghuang shook her head: "It's alright, we're not in a hurry, let Third Senior Brother take his time to build it."
Is this okay?
Feng Qinghuang nodded: "Sure, sure."
To avoid worrying Rong Qi, Feng Qinghuang even turned back and asked Mu Weiliang a question.
"Third Brother, can you set up your own tent? We're a bit busy here."
What else could Mu Weiliang say?
Mu Weiliang gritted her teeth: "Okay..."
Upon hearing her third senior brother's words, Feng Qinghuang quickly turned her head and said, "See? Aqi, my third senior brother just said that he can do it."
Rong Qi smiled and said, "Alright, then I'll trouble you, Third Senior Brother."
Feng Qinghuang: "It's alright, it's alright."
The two were still chatting sweetly, but Mu Weiliang was getting really angry.
Ha, he knew it!
Why did he come here? Not only does he have to work, but he also has to eat dog food. Wouldn't it be better for him to stay at the inn, eating meat and drinking alcohol every day? Why did he have to come here to be tortured?
And what about Junior Sister's intelligence? Has it been eaten by a dog?! Rong Qi is lying so obviously, and you can't even see it? And you still have to play along with him!
This is absolutely outrageous! He's going to tell his master and senior brothers to give their advice to their junior sister. Don't let her let love cloud her judgment.
Mu Weiliang didn't know that even if he complained, what difference would it make? When the time came, his master and senior brother would join forces to discipline him.
