The next day, Feng Qinghuang took Rong Qi and Feng Qingyun to a place she used to frequent when she went up the mountain, a small river where she fed small animals.
Feng Qinghuang took out her flute. As soon as the flute played, tiny sounds came from all directions and gathered by the river. After the piece was finished, the riverbank was filled with all sorts of small animals, chirping and chattering towards Feng Qinghuang.
Feng Qinghuang put away her flute and shared some food with Rong Qi and Feng Qingyun, letting them feed her and experience the same pleasure she had previously enjoyed.
However, the small animals made it very clear that they all chased after Feng Qinghuang to feed her, while the others only had a few around them. Feng Qinghuang simply stood back to back with them, and the small animals automatically formed a circle around her.
Feng Qinghuang squatted on the ground, feeding them while listening to their chirping, and occasionally replying with a few words.
Suddenly, Feng Qinghuang grabbed a little white rabbit, held it up to her face, and asked, "Little White, what did you say? The snow lion actually had babies?"
The little white rabbit blinked its eyes, and its three-lobed mouth opened and closed.
"Haha, that's great, Aqi, let's go see the snow lion cubs later."
Rong Qi nodded: "Okay."
Tinglan, who was standing nearby, quickly stopped her: "Miss, have you forgotten your grudge against Snow Lion?"
Feng Qingyun quickly asked, "What grudge?"
Tinglan glanced at Feng Qinghuang, who frantically blinked at her, but for her mistress's safety, Tinglan still spoke up.
"Miss used to like fighting with the snow lion, but she could never win. Every time, she would cut off the snow lion's fur, which made the snow lion very angry."
Rong Qi patted Feng Qinghuang's little head: "Jiaojiao was so naughty before."
Fearing that Rong Qi would lecture her, Feng Qinghuang quickly explained, "I just wanted to give her a haircut; her hair was too long and it affected her appearance."
Rong Qi nodded: "Yes, indeed."
Upon hearing Rong Qi's words, Feng Qingyun rolled her eyes at them. "Only you two would treat angering the snow lion like getting a haircut. You're really something."
"You're not allowed to go. The snow lion just gave birth. If you go now, not only will you forget about past grudges, but the snow lion will also think you're going to steal her cubs. What if you get hurt?"
Feng Qinghuang quickly tugged at her brother and said coquettishly, "Brother, it's okay. Didn't you say you'd protect me? Besides, there's also Aqi, Tinglan, and Rongyi. Xue Shi won't be so impulsive."
Feng Qingyun glanced at her: "How do you know it won't be so impulsive? Animals protect their cubs just like humans; it's all instinct, especially since it's a snow lion cub."
Feng Qinghuang hugged Feng Qingyun's arm: "Brother, I'll be careful. You've finally come back, please let me go see the snow lion cubs, okay?"
Feng Qingyun remained unmoved until Rong Qi approached.
"It's alright, I'm here, Jiaojiao will be fine. If you're scared, go back first."
To say that Feng Qingyun was afraid was to hit his weak spot.
"Who's scared? I'm worried about Huang'er's safety. Rong Qi, what's wrong with you? You know it's dangerous, but you still want to take Huang'er out to go crazy."
Rong Qi pinched Feng Qinghuang's little face: "Can you guarantee that even if we don't take her, she won't go on her own? What will you do if Jiaojiao goes by herself?"
"I......"
Indeed, if I don't take my younger sister, given her persistent nature, she's very likely to go by herself. Oh well, let her go. I'll get hurt anyway, but I can't let her get hurt.
"Little sister, you must be careful, okay?"
Feng Qinghuang quickly nodded: "Don't worry, brother, it can't hurt me."
Feng Qingyun shook her head, wondering where her sister got her confidence from. Who wouldn't be afraid of something that big?
After agreeing on their plans, the group ventured together into the depths of Wuji Mountain. Deep within Wuji Mountain lay a natural cave, warm in winter and cool in summer, surrounded by beautiful scenery. As the Snow Lion was the pinnacle of Wuji Mountain, the best spots naturally belonged to its lord, and no animal dared approach.
The little white rabbit was just staying near the cave, because it posed no danger to the snow lion.
However, it was only Feng Qinghuang who frequently bothered it. When Feng Qinghuang was a child, she accidentally ran here one day, saw the beautiful snow lion, and fell in love with it so much that she refused to leave. She stayed here for two days before her master found her and took her back.
The snow lion, because she was a human cub and so adorable, didn't do anything to her. Instead, it would bring her wild fruit every day to fill her stomach. To keep her warm, it would even let her sleep on its belly.
