Chapter 39 Thunder and Lightning In the night sky, two clouds were shrouded in a thunderstorm…
She couldn't help but raise her slightly trembling hand and gently stroke his feverish forehead. Her fingertips, carrying a deep tenderness and affection that she herself was unaware of, softly traced his handsome brow bone, which was slightly furrowed due to discomfort, and his high nose bridge. Finally, as if drawn by a magnet, her hand rested on his tightly pursed, somewhat dry lips. The touch was both familiar and strange, causing a sharp pain in her heart.
Just then, Gu Qingyan suddenly opened his eyes. Perhaps the fever reducer had worked, restoring a sliver of clarity, or perhaps her gentle touch had startled him awake. His dark eyes shone brightly in the dim light, like obsidian submerged in water, clearly reflecting her face, so close to his, filled with obvious panic and undisguised emotion.
Their eyes met, and the air seemed to freeze instantly, becoming thick and scorching, filled with a tension and longing that was about to erupt.
"Am I dreaming?" he asked hoarsely, his voice filled with disbelief, disorientation, and uncertainty. His fingers, as if possessing their own will, gently and with a slight tremor of uncertainty, touched her warm cheek, the touch hot and real.
Lin Yuwei looked at the small, bewildered reflection of herself in his eyes, shook her head, and her eyes involuntarily welled up with tears: "It's not a dream, Gu Qingyan, I'm here, I'm right here."
Gu Qingyan's gaze suddenly became incredibly deep, like a turbulent deep sea. All his restraint and pretense crumbled under the weight of his frail delirium and the immense shock. He slowly, extremely slowly, approached her, his movements so deliberate, as if giving her one last chance to push him away and reject him.
But when his lips, still tentatively warm and dry, gently touched hers, they both couldn't help but tremble slightly at the same time, as if an electric current surged through their bodies from their joined lips.
The kiss began lightly and slowly, like the gentle flutter of a butterfly's wings, carrying an extreme uncertainty and tentativeness. However, the longing and desire that had been suppressed for eight years, like a spark falling into a parched grassland, were instantly ignited, turning into a raging inferno that detonated a long-suppressed volcano of emotions.
Gu Qingyan almost immediately deepened the kiss, his arms tightening suddenly to hug her soft waist tightly, pulling her into his burning embrace even more deeply and seamlessly, as if he wanted to completely meld her into his bones and blood, never to be separated again.
Lin Yuwei responded to his almost greedy demands with awkward yet incredibly passionate enthusiasm. Her fingers involuntarily slipped into his slightly damp black hair, her fingertips feeling the warmth and softness of his hair. Her body temperature rose rapidly during the intense kiss, and the small, enclosed sleeping bag became unbearably hot. The only sounds in the air were their intertwined, rapid, and ambiguous breaths, and the still-unstoppable sound of rain outside the window.
Gu Qingyan's palms were large and warm, like the gentle winter sun covering the snowfield. His fingertips slowly traced the graceful mountain ridge, just like a careful traveler hiking along the contours of the snow-capped peaks. Wherever he went, he saw the spring gradually melting, the snow quietly turning into water, flowing gently. Finally, the traveler who had climbed the mountain stopped at the summit, admiring his achievements with great appreciation, gently gathering and picking up the purest snow on the summit, as if holding a rare treasure.
The warmth of their embrace slightly dispelled the burning sensation from the high fever, but it also ignited another kind of burning passion from the depths of their hearts.
Lin Yuwei sighed softly, feeling herself gradually soften like a snow-capped mountain in spring, as if ice and snow were naturally melting under the sun, unconsciously drawing closer to that warm and solid earth, seeking a deeper embrace and fusion.
"Is it alright?" Gu Qingyan's forehead was beaded with sweat, his voice low and hoarse, each word seemingly squeezed out with difficulty from his tense chest, imbued with restraint and longing. Beads of sweat slid down his defined jawline, like morning dew on newly blooming petals.
Lin Yuwei gazed into the turbulent vortex of emotions in his eyes, and her last shred of reason melted away like ice and snow. She didn't speak, but simply tilted her head slightly and pressed her lips to his dry, burning lips again, giving the clearest response with her silent action.
With the promise granted, Wen Nuan no longer hesitated. All his restraint transformed into gentle firmness at that moment. He gently brushed away the last barrier between them. When Wen Nuan's palm finally pressed against their skin without any obstruction, they both let out a satisfied sigh in unison.
"Are you still cold?" His voice was deep, like a distant wind blowing through a pine forest at night.
His warm palm gently covered her slightly cool skin, like a lone boat that had been adrift for too long finally finding a harbor to dock in the twilight. Every touch was like spring water melting the ice, gently dissolving the tiny tremors caused by the cold.
Lin Yuwei did not answer, but gently shook her head. She then realized that he could not see her response in the thick darkness. So she reached out and gently wrapped her arms around his neck, like vines clinging to a towering ancient tree, and as firm as a lone boat finally moored in a peaceful harbor.
Outside the window, the rain poured down and thunder rumbled across the sky, but all this noise seemed to be isolated in another world. At this moment, only their breaths mingled together, like two warm currents that had been separated for a long time reuniting, no longer distinguishable from each other.
Gu Qingyan's kiss was as gentle as a butterfly's rest, traveling down her slender neck with a warm, cherished touch, like a seeker of moonlight finally reaching its radiance. When his lips brushed against her slightly undulating collarbone, she felt as if she had transformed into a small boat that had been tossed about in the storm for too long, finally sailing into a calm and warm harbor.
A smile involuntarily curved her lips, like a water lily quietly unfurling in the moonlight. As he approached the slightly trembling petals, a warmth rippled from the deepest recesses of her heart, like spring waters melting and flowing over a silent river. She couldn't help but softly utter the name that had echoed in her heart a thousand times: "Qingyan..."
This call, like a spring breeze brushing against an old bell, like the shore beckoning a distant ship, instantly shattered Gu Qingyan's last shred of restraint. He embraced her, as if to melt all the years of separation into this hug.
In the night sky, two drifting clouds met amidst a thunderstorm. One was as light as cotton, shrouded in a hazy mist; the other, as deep as the sea, held the distant rumble of thunder. Drawn by the wind, they drew closer, as if their encounter had been preordained. Where the clouds intertwined, a shimmering light appeared, like stars falling from the clouds, transforming into delicate and gentle tremors.
When the soft clouds embrace the deep clouds with an all-encompassing gesture, like a harbor welcoming a drifting boat, and gently touch the glistening moisture with their warm edges, only the pattering rain, the intertwining currents, and the resonant thunder remain in the world. It is as if this downpour has specially paused for a moment for this purpose, weaving a hazy and eternal curtain with its dense rain threads for this fateful reunion.
Another streak of silver lightning illuminated the interior of the cabin. Lin Yuwei looked up and met Gu Qingyan's gaze. Their eyes met again, and in each other's violently contracting pupils, they saw an uncontrollable, surging desire and a hint of desperate resolve.
"You... really don't regret it?" he asked hoarsely as he gave his final reminder, beads of sweat forming on his nose as he struggled to suppress the urge to explode for her sake.
Lin Yuwei no longer hesitated and took the initiative to meet him, letting her actions speak for themselves. Gu Qingyan took a deep breath, no longer restraining himself, and responded to her pull with gentle yet firm words.
A breeze began to rise, sweeping across the open fields like a gentle murmur of nature, adding a profound rhythm to the moment. The deep, heavy clouds no longer hesitated, moving with the wind, flowing forward solemnly and gently, gradually merging with the warm, white, hazy mist.
The boundaries between the clouds gradually melted away, intertwining into a hazy play of light and shadow as they surged together. Each movement of the deep clouds stirred up invisible ripples, where subtle energy flowed and converged, transforming into warm and bright wisps of light that gently shimmered and bloomed where they merged, reflecting their closely intertwined forms.
The dark clouds were completely enveloped by the soft, fluffy white clouds. The soft white clouds passively received the heavy and powerful impacts of the dark clouds breaking through. Each deep collision caused violent, ripple-like tremors. It was as if the clouds were being ironed and melted by the scorching core, turning into a more misty fog that wrapped around and absorbed the invaders, dragging them deeper into its territory.
Thunder is their intertwined breaths, low and long, rolling where heaven and earth meet. Rain is proof of their fusion, growing ever denser and more intense, no longer just drizzling raindrops, but cascading down like a waterfall, striking all things and playing a stirring symphony.
The wind rises and the clouds surge, the night is occupied by this primal and magnificent dance. There is no gentleness, only the collision of forces, only the devouring of desires. They merge into one in the scorching of lightning, and become indistinguishable under the scouring of the rain, until they reach that critical point. In an instant, all is silent, and even the wind seems to stand still.
Immediately, a bolt of lightning cleaved through the darkness, followed by a deafening clap of thunder!
It was as if the heavens and earth trembled, and all the accumulated energy was released at this moment, merging into an even more exhilarating downpour. The rain poured down, pelting the earth with even greater ferocity and unrestrained force, as if to pour out and thoroughly wash away all the intense emotions, all the heat generated by friction, and all the long-brewing storms in the clouds.
The sound of the storm outside cleverly masked the heart-pounding noises inside the sleeping bag, but amplified every sensory experience.
In the final moment, Lin Yuwei felt a dazzling white light before her eyes, as if all the stars after the rain had exploded at that moment.
After the intense intimacy, there was only endless exhaustion and warmth. The two embraced tightly. Lin Yuwei was exhausted and curled up in Gu Qingyan's still warm but no longer worrying embrace, falling into a deep sleep without even being disturbed by dreams.
After an unknown amount of time, I vaguely heard what sounded like birdsong and human voices coming from afar outside the wooden house.
Lin Yuwei slowly awoke from her deep sleep, the first thing she felt was a wave of soreness and numbness from overuse, especially a hidden swelling and sticky feeling in the center of her legs.
Then, she vaguely realized that she was sleeping in a warm and firm embrace, and the person behind her... seemed to have already woken up and was still maintaining contact with her at an extremely slow and tedious pace, the subtle movements making her feel weak all over.
