Chapter 48 Han Family Girl

Chapter 48 Han Family Girl

Han Qingli looked at her, his pupils dizzying.

After a while, her little face wrinkled, her eyes filled with tears, and she burst into tears.

This made the nanny very distressed. "Oh, Miss, don't cry, don't cry." She comforted her softly, turning around and scolding "Xi", "How can you be so rude!"

Under the mask, "Xi" raised his brows slightly, looking at the eldest daughter of the Han family who was crying bitterly and had no image at all. She was completely different from the mean and unruly look just now.

Now, I probably won’t be selected.

The nanny patted Han Qingli's back with a distressed look, glaring at Xi. "How dare you be so presumptuous to the young lady! You've frightened her. The Han family will not forgive you!"

The butler also had a serious look on his face. He secretly winked at the servant next to him, indicating that he should call the guards.

"Xi" folded his hands over his chest, quietly looking at the scenery, waiting for someone to come up and then be kicked out with good reason.

"Wait... wait!" Han Qingli's body convulsed as tears streamed down her cheeks, blurring her carefully applied makeup. "This lady... wants... this." She sobbed, wiping her face with a handkerchief. Through her tearful eyes, her gaze remained glued to Xi's sinister, grotesque face.

"Xi": "???"

Doesn't this guy have any masochistic tendencies?

"Miss?!" The nanny could hardly believe her ears. "What are you talking about? This...how can this be possible! This person just...scared you." She looked at her young lady's red eyes from crying, and pulled away the hair that was soaked with tears and stuck to her cheeks. She felt that her young lady was scared and confused.

The housekeeper was completely confused. The order to expel the guest was stuck in his throat, and the servants who were supposed to be guarding him also stopped where they were, in a dilemma.

"I want him!" Han Qingli sniffed hard, with a heavy crying tone, but her tone was firm.

"No! Absolutely not!" The nanny stamped her feet anxiously. "This man is behaving rudely. Young lady, you are a precious lady, how can you allow such a person to be your close bodyguard? What if something unexpected happens along the way..."

"Mammy!" Han Qingli suddenly interrupted her, her voice tinged with tears but unusually sharp. "Don't you understand what I'm saying? I want this person!" She stopped looking at the mammy and glared at Xi with tears in her red, swollen eyes. "You! It's you! From now on, you're my personal bodyguard! If you dare say 'no', I'll have my father tear down that shabby pavilion of yours!"

"Xi": "..."

This development is even more unbelievable than that pervert Li Siyu! One second he was shouting and crying for her to get out, and the next second he was "I have to have you"?

The corners of Xi's mouth twitched violently under the mask. She looked at the girl in front of her who was crying loudly but pointing at her unreasonably, and sighed deeply.

"Okay." A distorted and strange voice sounded, "But you have to pay extra."

Han Qingli snorted coldly, "This lady has never been short of money!"

Under Han Qingli's glare, the butler almost trembled as he took out a banknote for a deposit that was 50% more generous than the original amount. After receiving the banknote, "Xi" fanned it in his hand and put it in his pocket.

"Okay, I've got the money. Now, follow me." Han Qingli suppressed the awkwardness in her heart, flicked her sleeves, and turned around to walk towards the inner courtyard without caring about her tear-stained face.

"Xi" remained silent, like a moving shadow, floating behind her at a distance of several steps.

Han Qingli walked straight into the main house. It was lavishly furnished. Without stopping, she passed through the outer room and into the inner chamber, where a fragrant aroma drifted through the air and a dazzling array of rouge and powder lay on the dressing table.

She dismissed the servants and looked Xi up and down. "You, change your appearance and dress like a killer. How can you protect me?"

"Xi" didn't move, but stretched out his hand wearing a black leather glove, put his index finger and middle finger together, and rubbed his thumb on top.

Han Qingli's face froze. She walked to the dressing table, took out a jade pendant from the makeup box, and stuffed it into Xi's hand. "Here, this is top-grade mutton-fat jade."

Xi held up the jade token, looked at it towards the light source, put it in his pocket with satisfaction, and said to her, "Wait."

After a while, a woman in plain clothes, with ordinary looks and a cold temperament appeared in Han Qingli's room.

The moment Han Qingli saw her, he almost dropped the notebook in his hand, and his eyes widened.

"You...you you you..." Han Qingli couldn't believe it, "You are actually a woman?!"

Du Huaizhi, who had changed his appearance, put his hands in his sleeves and raised his eyebrows, "I never said I was a man." His voice was processed and a little hoarse.

Han Qingli twisted her lips, "I just didn't expect it." Suddenly, she remembered something and her expression became fierce again. "Let me make it clear first. If you can't guarantee my safety, I will definitely destroy Wangyou Pavilion."

Du Huaizhi didn't care. He found a place in the room and sat down comfortably. "When do we leave?"

Seeing that she couldn't be scared, Han Qingli was very angry at her calm and unmoved appearance, as if the sky couldn't fall on her. However, she was afraid of being frightened, so she didn't attack Du Huaizhi.

"Maybe in a few days. I don't know the exact time." She thought for a moment, then began pacing the room as if she had found a new outlet. "I've already said I don't want to go to that damn place. Not only is the journey long, but I don't know what dangers I might encounter along the way. Yet, my father insisted I go."

"And you." She turned her head to look at Du Huaizhi again, "Your face! It looks a little better, but it's too ordinary! You don't have any aura at all! If you meet a bad guy, who can you scare with this look?" She said a lot in one breath. It was more like she was venting her confused and depressed mood at the moment rather than questioning Du Huaizhi's ability.

Du Huaizhi waited quietly for her to finish, her phoenix eyes cold and without a trace of emotion, until Han Qingli gasped slightly due to excitement, she spoke slowly, her tone still hoarse and flat, "Whether you can subdue the bad guys or not, it's not your face that matters."

She paused, her eyes sweeping across Han Qingli's bright little face, flushed with anger, before continuing, "It depends on strength. And the more ordinary and inconspicuous I am, the easier it is for bad guys to let their guard down and think I'm just an insignificant servant."

Han Qingli choked, her face turning red and white. She suddenly grabbed a heavy gold-inlaid enamel rouge box on the dressing table and threw it at Du Huaizhi.

Du Huaizhi didn't even raise her eyelids. The moment the rouge box flew in front of her, she casually raised her hand to catch it, and the rouge box fell steadily into her hand.
