Chapter 65: Children's Words
Du Ruozhi said this, and quietly raised her eyes. Seeing that Du Huaizhi's expression had eased a little, she dared to scoop half a spoonful with a small spoon and put it into her bowl. Taking the opportunity to move closer, she whispered: "He... is he always like this?"
She deliberately lowered her voice, thinking that only the two of them could hear it, but who knew...
"Sister-in-law, you should keep gossip about others behind others' backs." Li Siyu suddenly looked at her, with a slight smile on his lips, but his eyes were cold.
Du Ruozhi shrank her neck in shock.
"Children's words are innocent." Du Huaizhi blocked Du Ruozhi's words and took a bite of the tofu Du Ruozhi brought. "Not bad."
Du Ruozhi immediately brought the entire plate to Du Huaizhi like a treasure, "If you like it, eat more. My sister has become so thin since she moved to Prince Cheng's Mansion. I haven't seen her for a few days."
These words were suggestive. Li Siyu was so annoyed by her anti-yin and yang that she didn't retort. She looked at Du Huaizhi and said, "You have indeed lost weight." As she said that, she picked up a piece of fish with the bones removed and fed it to her mouth.
"Eat more, otherwise... you won't be able to bear it in the future." He originally wanted to say tonight, but since the little child Du Ruozhi was present, he didn't say it too explicitly.
Du Huaizhi's face turned ugly, staring at him intently. Du Ruozhi blinked her big, watery eyes and stared at him, which made Du Huaizhi feel hesitant to eat or not eat the meat in front of his mouth.
Du Huaizhi's eyes flashed coldly, and she raised her hand to push away the chopsticks that Li Siyu was holding to her lips. However, Li Siyu seemed to have anticipated this, and with a very flexible turn of her wrist, she dodged her move, and the chopsticks holding the fish meat still rested steadily on her lips.
There was a smile on the corner of his lips, but his eyes were full of a strong expression that could not be refused. He leaned forward slightly and whispered in a voice that only the two of them could hear: "Madam, do you want to eat it yourself, or do you want me to feed you in a different way?"
The highly suggestive tone and the handsome face so close to him made Du Huaizhi's scalp tingle uncontrollably.
This bastard calculated that she wouldn't completely break up with him in front of others.
Du Huaizhi's chest was boiling with anger, and she wanted to throw the whole plate of crab meat and tofu on his annoyingly smiling face. But in the end, she suppressed her anger, opened her mouth slightly and bit the piece of fish very quickly.
Only then did Li Siyu put away his chopsticks with satisfaction, picked up a piece from Du Huaizhi's bowl and ate it himself, "This fish is really delicious."
Du Ruozhi was stunned and subconsciously covered her mouth with her eyes wide open.
Xie Sui coughed lightly, picked up the teacup and took a big gulp, suppressing the heat on his face and the turmoil in his heart.
For the rest of the meal, Du Huaizhi kept a cold expression and said nothing. It was not until he finished his meal and walked out of the restaurant, with the evening breeze blowing away the dirt on his body, that Du Huaizhi relaxed a little.
But she did not relax because of this. Li Siyu followed closely behind with a fierce look in her eyes. Du Ruozhi hugged her arm and led her to the carriage of the Du Mansion.
The closer she got, the colder the gaze behind her became, with a naked threat. A bead of sweat appeared at the corner of Du Huaizhi's temple and slid down her cheek. "Zhizhi." She called Du Ruozhi.
Du Ruozhi stopped, turned around, and asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"
"..." Du Huaizhi's face was calm and composed, "I won't go back with you tonight."
"Why?" Du Ruozhi tightened her arms around her, her face falling. "You said it yourself, sister. Why did you change your mind?" She glanced at Li Siyu. "Did your brother-in-law threaten you?"
Li Siyu was standing a few steps away, watching them leisurely.
"It has nothing to do with him." Du Huaizhi pressed his sister's hand, trying to make his tone sound natural. "I suddenly remembered that there are some matters in the mansion that have not been dealt with. I need to go back."
Even a dog wouldn't believe this reason.
"Okay." Du Ruozhi shrugged her head, "Then you must come tomorrow, sister."
"Okay." Du Huaizhi nodded in agreement and turned to look at Xie Sui, "I'll trouble you, Lord Xie, to escort Zhizhi."
Xie Sui raised his hand, "It's my duty."
After watching the two of them leave, Li Siyu approached like a ghost. Du Huaizhi elbowed him from behind and nimbly avoided his embrace.
"This is on the street." Du Huaizhi warned. There were people coming and going on the street, and she couldn't hug each other in such a place.
Li Siyu took two steps back and leaned against the wall of the carriage in Prince Cheng's mansion. "Madam, do you mean that we don't have to go on the street?"
Du Huaizhi didn't bother to pay attention to his deliberate misinterpretation of the words, and entered the carriage first with a cold face. She could feel the gaze behind her following her like a shadow, with a scorching temperature that made her back slightly stiff.
Li Siyu looked at her fearless back and found it funny. He followed her into the carriage. The curtain closed and they were the only two left in the narrow space.
Li Siyu did not approach immediately as usual. Instead, she sat lazily opposite him, tapping her knees lightly with her fingertips, her eyes fixed on Du Huaizhi's tense profile, as if she was appreciating something interesting.
"Madam seems very nervous?" he suddenly said.
Du Huaizhi looked straight ahead, "Your Highness, you're worrying too much."
"Oh?" Li Siyu leaned forward, resting his arms on the cushions beside her, closing the distance between them. His warm breath brushed against her ear. "Then why, Madam, have you been clenching your hands so tightly since leaving the restaurant? Even your knuckles are turning white."
Du Huaizhi's heart trembled, and she subconsciously loosened her fists that had been clenched at some point. She didn't realize how nervous she was.
As the saying goes, one must die sooner or later. She had known that this day would come, but because she still had military force, she could at least run away.
Nowadays...
Du Huaizhi was numb.
Li Siyu was amused by the rich expression in her eyes and nuzzled the corner of her mouth affectionately. But what he didn't expect was that just this nuzzling almost led to an accidental discharge. His Adam's apple rolled up and down, and he was about to do something else when Du Huaizhi pushed him away.
His body hit the wall of the carriage, causing it to shake violently, and at the same time a suppressed groan from a man was heard.
The person driving the car outside made a rash judgment: "..."
Look up at the moon.
He shouldn't be here, he should be under the car.
Li Siyu covered his shoulder with a look of hurt. Before he could react, Du Huaizhi said, "Let's talk about it when we get home."
Li Siyu was stunned by these few words, but he quickly reacted and the anger in his heart disappeared. "Madam, have you agreed?"
Du Huaizhi turned her head away without answering. The moonlight filtered through the gap in the carriage, and the tips of her ears, slightly red, could be seen.
Seeing her like this, Li Siyu chuckled softly. Those who knew him would know that it was a joy that came from the heart.
Du Huaizhi heard his laughter and looked at him with a frown, but inadvertently met a pair of bottomless, dark and bright purple eyes.
