Liu Mingwei covered her face tightly.
The sun was so strong that she felt like she was going to faint from the sun, but she didn't dare to take off the cloth covering her face.
She was afraid of other people's strange looks.
That gaze was like a surging tide, like a flood and a beast, as if it wanted to devour her.
The gossip and the disdainful looks of the villagers in the past kept lingering in her mind and could not be shaken off.
That day, Ji Jin bit off the flesh on her face, and then the two of them drifted on the sea with no water or food. Her face was festered due to exposure to the sun, and it was a horrible sight.
Even Ji Jin didn't want to get close to him.
Liu Mingwei originally wanted to commit suicide, but she felt unwilling to do so. Ji Jin was still alive, so how could she die before him? She wanted revenge. How could he get away with ruining her like this?
Later, her consciousness became blurred and when she thought she was going to die, they were rescued.
The boat drifted to the shore at some point and was discovered by the villagers. Although her life was saved, her face could never be restored. She would always be an ugly monster and she no longer had any capital.
The villagers didn't know how she and Ji Jin were having an affair. Jun Li was missing, and they were like this. She didn't know what everyone was thinking or guessing. She only knew that she and Ji Jin were both isolated.
Everyone liked her from the beginning, but now, people would avoid her if they looked at her for even a second.
Later at night, she went to Ji Jin's house. She coaxed Ji Jin with sweet words and even compromised to please Ji Jin with her mouth. Ji Jin's eyes were full of disgust, but he still hugged her and moved on her. A poisonous snake had long lived in Liu Mingwei's heart. She bit off Ji Jin's treasure fiercely and ran away amid Ji Jin's heart-wrenching screams.
Then she ran to this town and made a living by selling cakes.
Many times, Liu Mingwei would wonder why she had come to this point. She was clearly a time-traveling girl and the heroine, so why did she become so miserable now?
Someone came to buy some cakes and saw that she had covered her face. He suddenly reached out to the cloth on her face, pulling it off while smirking and saying, "Hey, it's summer time, isn't it hot like this?"
The cloth on his face was torn off. The man stepped back in terror, shouting, "Monster! How ugly!"
The people around her immediately followed her a few meters away. Tears welled up in Liu Mingwei's eyes. She packed up her stall and left quickly. When she passed a jewelry store, she stopped and two people came out.
One tall, one short, one male, one female.
The woman was wearing a light green long dress, with delicate eyebrows and eyes. Her whole body seemed to be shrouded in a layer of light, just like the people in the scroll. The man standing next to her had a gentle profile and his eyes were always on her, as if she was the only one here who deserved his attention.
"The palace has everything, why bother making the trip yourself?"
"I know, but I just want to hang out. It would be so boring to stay there all day."
"You think I'm boring?"
The man's eyes dimmed, as if the world had lost its color.
The woman stood on tiptoe and whispered something in his ear with a smile. The man's expression immediately changed. He put his arm around the woman's waist and said with a smirk, "Okay, but you have to drink at tonight's banquet."
The woman immediately frowned, and the two of them left noisily.
That person is Jun Li.
She thought she was dead, but she didn't expect that she was not dead and was living so well. Liu Mingwei finally couldn't control her tears and flowed down.
