The next day.
By the time Yu Ting woke up, it was already nine o’clock. She sat up in bed, running her fingers through her hair. Her neck was littered with a series of red marks, and her pajama shirt was crumpled and missing a couple of buttons. The bed beside her was already empty. Apart from the curtains next to the bed which were drawn, all the others had been opened by Lu Nanchen.
The living room was particularly bright. Lu Nanchen, having prepared for the day early in the morning, was idly working on some teaching materials. He clearly hadn’t anticipated how bold Yu Ting could be. The collar of his shirt could not completely conceal her markings, and without anything obscuring them now, the scattering of red marks and bite evidence was visible on his neck.
Seeing him now, in a complete contrast to his actions the previous night, it was hard to associate this proper man with his kisses from the night before.
"Awake?" Lu Nanchen noticed her movements and swivelled his chair to face her, his gaze dropping from her face downward.
He felt pleased.
"Mmm. I slept in, so I’ll just go to the theater in the afternoon," Yu Ting replied, getting out from under the covers and changing her clothes. She put on a high-necked red sweater and slim black trousers. The attire highlighted her upright posture and dazzling appearance.
She pulled her hair into a small, low ponytail with an elastic band before going to freshen up.
Time slips away quickly. After the two had lunch, Yu Ting, who had not sat for long, planned to go out. She sat and casually applied makeup before leaving.
Lu Nanchen leaned against the nearby table, bending slightly to watch her artful manipulation of the makeup on her face.
He found it fascinating.
After watching for over half a minute, Lu Nanchen shifted his gaze downward for a moment before getting up and heading to the living room.
A few minutes later, once Yu Ting had finished her makeup, she got up to see Lu Nanchen waiting with one of her jackets closeby.
It was a light-green baseball jacket with an embroidered design on the sleeves; her thickest jacket. She had originally planned to pair it with a white T-shirt.
"Wear this—it’s getting cooler," he said.
"...It’s fine, I’m sturdy..."
"Wear it."
Lu Nanchen repeated himself, not considering any issue between the green jacket and her red turtleneck sweater at all. He was more concerned about Yu Ting staying warm. While indoors they had heating, so it’s not perceptible, but once outside it would be cold.
At a towering 189 cm in height, when he stood before her, the look on his face was resolute.

In the end, having no choice but to compromise, Yu Ting stood still and let Lu Nanchen help her put on the jacket.
After she had shrugged it on, Lu Nanchen considerately zipped it up all the way to the top.
Originally, the voluminous green baseball jacket would have been loose, but now, worn over her red turtleneck sweater, it was quite snug. Above the low collar of the baseball jacket was a large section of red turtleneck.
Now she was warm.
Lu Nanchen took a satisfactory look at his handiwork, then leaned in and kissed her on the forehead, "I’ll wait here for you. Come back soon after you’re done. Call me if you need anything."
"Sure."
As Yu Ting accepted the sweetness of love, she felt the ’agony’ of it on her body.
She had just taken a few steps outside...
"Do you want to take some hot water with you?"

Down below in the hotel, a male assistant was ten minutes early and waiting by the car. He stood in the cold, shrugging his shoulders and occasionally stomping his feet to keep warm, while periodically scanning his surroundings for his boss.
Then he saw a peculiarly dressed woman, bulky on top with thin legs. He paid her no mind, redirecting his gaze to the ground and continuing to stomp his feet.
But then something struck him as off, she looked too familiar. Upon a sudden realization, he hastily raised his gaze toward the woman.
It was his boss.
