The group quickly decided on a restaurant. Yu Ting stepped aside, picked up her phone and dialed Lu Nanchen’s number.
He picked up after just two rings, seemingly free at the moment.
"What’s up?" A cool, distinct male voice came from the other end of the phone. His voice was still fresh in her mind from the passionate whispers in the night.
"I’m going out to dinner with the folks from the theatre, so I might be home late." Yu Ting replied, updating him on the day’s events.
There was silence on the other end of the conversation for a minute or two.
"Alright, I understand. Just come home early." Lu Nanchen thought for a moment - there really was nothing to worry about. He then remembered Yu Ting’s drinking capacity, and added another sentence.
"Drink less."
After a brief chat, they hung up. Lu Nanchen returned his phone to the desk, and peace was restored to his spacious hotel room. Nanchen sat down at the table and reopened the teaching materials he had just closed.
He carried on working.
...
Waiting is often tedious. Yu Ting had spent so long lounging nearby that drowsiness had come knocking and her feet had begun to tingle slightly.
Ding.
[Please spend 10 yuan within two minutes.]
?
A voice suddenly echoed in her head, the sudden task and the amount being the most startling.
yuan.
Two minutes.
The voice issuing the task startled Yu Ting, causing her to stand up and look around for stores where she could spend money.
Two minutes.
This would have to be dealt with immediately.
With that thought, Yu Ting looked around and spotted a milk tea shop, her brows furrowing slightly as she headed over.
Though she wasn’t fond of milk tea, it was paramount to get the task done first.
Upon reaching the milk tea shop, she noticed Zhujun standing nearby. He’d just finished chatting with the director’s team and was looking to buy something to drink.
Discovering a familiar face made things much easier.
Yu Ting straightforwardly offered, "Let me treat you to"
Ding.
[Please spend 2000 yuan within two minutes.]
"a hundred and twenty cups of milk tea."
Zhujun: ?
Finding a solution, Yu Ting very seriously informed the milk tea shop attendant, "120 cups of Oreo Cheesecake Milk Tea please, to go."
"Um, alright. That’ll be 2160 yuan. It might take us a while to prepare so many, thank you for your patience." The attendant said, looking a bit puzzled but smiling brilliantly.
Then, Yu Ting confidently zaps her Alipay over the 2160 yuan, not finding the transaction strange at all - the important thing was to get rid of the money somehow.
Zhujun who had been stunned the entire time: ?
Did his cousin just win the lottery?
Seeing Yu Ting, who only cared about paying and not about drinking the tea, was now patting Zhujun’s shoulder, smiling, "It’s all on me, don’t be shy."
With that, she was gone, leaving a stunned Zhujun and the 120 cups of Oreo Cheesecake Milk Tea in preparation.
Zhujun: ...
He stood blankly outside the milk tea shop, his face even more expressionless than before.
There must be something wrong with her.
Or she’s just messed up.
After not spotting his artist for several minutes, Zhujun’s agent quickly came over to the milk tea shop to look for him. He wondered why it was taking him so long to buy a milk tea.
Upon arrival, he saw Zhujun standing there, in front of him were 43 cups of milk tea that had been freshly prepared.
Agent: ?
When did he become so generous as to buy so many cups of milk tea at once?
Could it be a treat for me?
"Do you want some? I’ll sell it to you at half price."
