Chapter 177 - 176: Lending_1

She didn’t expect her artists to earn money, but she needed to be responsible for their future.

Besides, this series of events happened because of her, and it got him into trouble.

...

A woman’s voice came from the phone, echoing in the quiet room. Noodles hastily eaten this morning were on the table. Considering the previous events, Wei Qinghe felt an inexplicable sense of reassurance. His grip on the phone tightened.

"Alright."

The company had detailed personal information about Wei Qinghe, including his current address.

Yu Ting immediately rushed over, and they didn’t say much else. The call ended quickly.

Quietness resumed in the room. Wei Qinghe got up to tidy the room a bit. He had read lots of news from last night until this morning.

Rumours.

Nothing but rumours.

Damn it, that’s not the kind of person my mom is...

The bowls and chopsticks went into the sink, making a clattering sound. Wei Qinghe rolled up his sleeves, ready to wash the dishes.

After about ten minutes of cleaning, Wei Qinghe had washed the dishes. The room was clean again. The silence was disrupted by a knock on the door.

"They’re here." Wei Qinghe smoothed the wrinkles in his clothes due to housekeeping, and when he opened the door, a crowd of people appeared.

A group of men.

Debt collectors.

The old residential building where he lived was in a remote part of Jiangqi City. Security was always weak, the number of residents were few, and the scattered residents were mostly the elderly in their fifties and sixties. They were no match for these strong, young men.

Besides, not causing trouble was better than avoiding it.

Wei Qinghe widened his eyes, his face held an expression of caution and suppressed anger.

"Yo, why are you just standing there? Aren’t you going to invite old friends in?" The muscular guy leading them was over six feet tall and quite intimidating. He pushed his way into the small room, forcing Wei Qinghe backwards.

The last man closed the door behind him. With eight or nine big men crowded into the room, the atmosphere was suffocating.

As Wei Qinghe backed up, he reached for the phone, ready to call the police.

Unfortunately, the man in front of him reacted quickly. He kicked out, his rough shoe hitting Qinghe’s hand hard and sending the phone flying. It slammed against the wall at a distance he could no longer reach.

Out of reach.

"I had a feeling something was wrong yesterday. If you weren’t here, where would you be? Turns out, after squatting all night, I saw the light in your room." The man cleared the floor wherever he walked, kicking things aside. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

The room that was just cleaned up was soon a mess again.

"So, now you’re a star, making big money, when will you repay the money? You’ve been dragging it out for three months. With interest, you owe 900,000." A sinister smile crept onto the man’s face. He lifted an eyebrow in amusement, but it was clear he meant business.

Thinking about it, Wei Qinghe’s expression darkened considerably. "I only borrowed 300,000 in the first place. You clearly stated that there would be no interest. Now you’re asking for 900,000? Triple in three months?"

"Yeah. Triple in three months. It’s my money. I decide how I count it. You’re a big star. Surely you can afford this 900,000?" The man spoke in a domineering way, not thinking there was anything wrong. That’s exactly what people like him did.
