Chapter 180 - 179: I’ve Called the Police_1

"You dare to fight back."

A thug nearby cannot stand it anymore. He rubs his fists together and charges towards Yu Ting.

Upon hearing Yu Ting’s voice, Wei Qinghe starts to recover his senses. Sitting on the ground, he stares blankly at the door. When he sees someone trying to hit Yu Ting, he instinctively says, "Danger."

"I’ve called the police."

Yu Ting steps back to dodge then twists the man’s arm, releases, and kicks him with a ferocity that’s almost chilling.

The gang leader who got hit a few times now stands up straight, looking somewhat defeated.

Unexpectedly, Yu Ting swiftly moves forward and delivers another kick.

"I’ve called the police."

Man: ??

Are you calling the police while hitting us?

"Damn, where did this woman come from? Let’s go." The man spits after being kicked half a meter away, mutters a few words, then gives his underlings some orders. "Damn, that’s bad luck."

After the clear order from the leader, the underlings can only give up and follow their boss away.

The unremarkable old apartment building returns to silence.

Upon entering the house and seeing the overall room, one would be quite surprised.

Unexpectedly shabby.

Didn’t VG pay his contract fee?

Taking steps to stand beside Wei Qinghe, Yu Ting watches him intently.

The boy tilts his head up. His eyes are somewhat red, as if he’s about to cry but he doesn’t, and his overall appearance looks pitiful. His face looked so pitiful it would evoke sympathy in anyone who saw him.

Sigh.

"I’m here. It’s okay now." Yu Ting said to him firmly, extending a hand towards him.

People’s joys and sorrows do not affect her, but she felt he was really pitiful. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Okay." Qinghe finally stands up and seats himself beside her on the bed. This is the first time he’s faced a situation like this, and he seems lost.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, his clothes are all wrinkled.

"Are the cops coming?" Wei Qinghe only reacted then. He sat on the edge of the bed, both hands tightly clasped between his legs. He wasn’t nervous, but oddly calm.

This isn’t his first time seeing the police.

Upon hearing this, Yu Ting plays with her phone for a bit. The screen clearly displays a long number.

"No, I dialed a fake number."

Yu Ting plans to lead them away first to prevent them from doing something out of desperation and then tackle them later at a more opportune time.

Wei Qinghe was speechless.

His boss is really something else.

Last time she was pulling out surveillance cameras and asking him to beat someone up, this time she’s dialing fake numbers to fool the thugs.

"What were those guys doing?" Not thinking much about it, Yu Ting leans against a table nearby, her arms crossed and her pale, delicate fingers resting on her arms. Preferably hearing it from him, she asks what happened, rather than what she had read online.

"My mother fell ill and needed money. I borrowed money everywhere I could and accidentally borrowed from loan sharks..." says Wei Qinghe. He was just urgently trying to amass surgery funds for his mother. He didn’t think he would unluckily encounter such people.

"What about what they’re saying online?" The woman continues to question him. "I need to know the truth so I can accurately dispute the rumors on the internet."

Upon listening to her, Wei Qinghe’s nose feels peculiarly tingly.
