Xiaobao thought that his brother, Nanchen, and his sister-in-law must be very loving since they hugged so long without letting go.
After a good five or six minutes, Nanchen finally let go of Yu Ting, got up and took off his sweater, leaving him in only his undershirt.
He rolled up his sleeves and trouser legs, revealing his slender frame. His clothes were a bit rumpled from their intimate embrace. He walked over to Xiaobao, who was waist-high to him. After a moment, he picked Xiaobao up and started walking toward the bathroom.
"Is brother really going to sleep with Xiaobao and sister-in-law tonight? Not making a nephew?"
Xiaobao asked innocently, with a straightforward expression, showing no signs of deceit.
Until now, he thought Nanchen didn’t want him to sleep in the middle because it would disturb his making of a nephew.
"Hmm, you’ll have a little cousin soon. There’s no rush."
Nanchen gave a vague answer and decided not to elaborate.
He continued on his way to the bathroom.

Xiaobao questioned for the second time, "Really?"
Nanchen: ...
"Really."
The two continued their disjointed conversation until they entered the bathroom. Amid the overlapping shadows, Nanchen began to turn on the water for Xiaobao and to undress him.
Soon, Xiaobao was standing there, stark naked.
Nanchen took a closer look, glad to see there were no new injuries. The scrape on Xiaobao’s arm had faded a lot, scabbing over into a thin pale line.
That’s fine, he thought.
"Has anyone been bullying you at your new school?"
Nanchen asked, as he did every month.
"Not at all! My classmates are super nice!" Xiaobao answered earnestly.
His voice got slightly louder from excitement. Even Yu Ting, who was outside, could hear him and was reassured.
"Good. Remember, you can always talk to me if you have any problems."
Nanchen wet Xiaobao’s hair with warm water, then took a bit of the children’s shampoo - which Yu Ting had bought at a supermarket during the National Day holiday for more than 300 yuan - and gently massaged it into Xiaobao’s hair.
Soon, Xiaobao’s short soft curls were covered in white foam.
Xiaobao was now a bubble-head.
From time to time, he would scratch his head, creating a hand of bubbles. With a pat of his hands, he would emit some bubbles, playing and having fun.
As it was winter and a bit cold, they didn’t wash for long. Half an hour later, the two of them left the bathroom. Xiaobao was wrapped in a thick white towel and dressed in new pajamas.
Similarly, Nanchen was soaked again, both his clothes and pant cuffs were quite wet. The front of his shirt was spattered with bubbles, courtesy of Xiaobao.
Yu Ting quickly went over to help, taking Xiaobao from Nanchen’s arms, then gave Nanchen a quick once-over, "You should go take a shower and change your clothes."
"Okay."
"Sister-in-law..." Just out of the bath, Xiaobao was still warm and smelled nice. He rubbed against Yu Ting and wrapped his little hands around her neck.
"En?" With a big ball of cuteness in her arms, Yu Ting was overjoyed. She responded affectionately, carrying Xiaobao towards the master bed.
After cuddling up to Yu Ting for a while, Xiaobao finally stopped moving. Resting his chin on Yu Ting’s shoulder, he spoke solemnly, "Sister-in-law, I really want a little nephew."
Even at his young age, Xiaobao was full of thoughts, engaging in his own world of fantasies about the future.
"Then I can watch cartoons with him, go to school with him... I’ll buy him sugar-coated haws with my pocket money! I’ll even help him do his homework!"
