Chapter 222 - 221: Lu Family_1

The Lu family’s old house was somewhat like a courtyard house, quite large and capable of accommodating many people at once. The deep brown wooden structure added an air of elegance and grandeur.

The house was located on the outskirts of Jiangqi City, something akin to a suburb, and was particularly quiet on ordinary days.

Hearing the noise outside, a middle-aged woman came out from the room. Upon seeing Lu Nanchen and Yu Ting, she hurriedly called out to her companions behind her, "Quick, tell the master and mistress that Nanchen is back."

Though the Lu family was not a prestigious clan, they had several generations of cultural legacy, and were a true scholar family. Inside the house, there were also three or four housekeepers helping Lu’s mother clean the mansion.

"Aunt Lin," Lu Nanchen called out. Everyone in the family knew her.

"Hello, Aunt Lin," Yu Ting followed suit and greeted, making a note of this person while trailing behind Lu Nanchen.

Aunt Lin, the person they were referring to, meticulously observed Yu Ting, especially when she saw their hands interlocked. Her smile deepened.

The real Yu Ting was not as simple-minded as the rumors suggested, and was actually quite handsome.

Really not bad, indeed.

"Welcome, Mrs. Lu. Please come in," Aunt Lin said cordially, and then called out for two people to help Lu Nanchen and Yu Ting with their luggage from the car.

As Yu Ting followed Lu Nanchen into the compound, she could see the interior more clearly. The atmosphere was richly antiquated and scholarly. Apart from a few busy servants, it was exceptionally peaceful.

...

...

The atmosphere was conducive for studying.

It wasn’t surprising to Yu Ting that Lu Nanchen grew up in such an environment.

"So, how do you like it?" Lu Nanchen asked lovingly after Yu Ting had scanned the house, raising an eyebrow lightly.

"Quite wonderful, quite comfortable," Yu Ting answered honestly.

...

As the two delved deeper into the house, under Lu Nanchen’s guidance, Yu Ting finally met Lu’s father and mother in the innermost main house.

Perhaps they were informed of Lu Nanchen’s arrival ahead of time, the couple was well-groomed and appeared to be in their early fifties. They had taken good care of themselves as their skin was in excellent condition. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Fortunately, they had very friendly appearances.

"Mom, Dad," Lu Nanchen greeted.

"Parents," Yu Ting called out, leaning slightly forward. Today she was wearing unusually mature and sophisticated female attire.

First impressions matter.

She held Lu Nanchen’s hand in one hand and a large pile of gifts that she had prepared in the other.

"Oh," Lu’s mother was overjoyed at the sight of the loving couple. She responded cheerfully, "You didn’t have to bring so many things."

"I had asked Nanchen about what you might like, but I didn’t want to assume, so I bought a variety."

Yu Ting placed the items to the side, which included a painting and ancient documents worth several millions she had acquired the night before.

Yu Ting didn’t understand the document, nor did she want to. So she gifted the ink painting along with the ancient document to her in-laws.

"Ah, you didn’t have to go to all this trouble," Lu’s mother said, smiling sincerely.

The whole family was content; they had no pursuit of wealth. All that mattered was that they lived in peace, joy and health.

"It’s no trouble, it really wasn’t expensive," Yu Ting quickly replied.

Then both took their seats, and conversation flowed.

Lu’s father and mother casually inquired about the couple’s recent condition. The atmosphere was harmonious.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps approached from outside the door, gradually getting louder. Dressed in a thick coat, Lu Xiaobao ran in from the outside.

"Sister-in-law!"
