With mixed feelings, Lu Nanchen’s brain seemed to buzz. There was also a notebook with a cartoon cover nearby, resembling a diary, but Lu Nanchen didn’t flip through it.
He didn’t want to.
He didn’t want to see any more.
Perhaps the only comfort was the date, July 16, when they were still nothing to each other.
The room was sweet in color, but Lu Nanchen was in utter bitterness. He didn’t know how long he had kept that standing posture. His face and lips were tense. His usually cold face was now extraordinarily solemn. His brows were furrowed, and his fingers crinkled the paper over and over again.
His head was lowered, and some shaggy hair blocked his deep eyes.
...
...
...
By the time Yu Ting returned to her room several minutes later, there was no emergency at all. It was obviously an attempt to get Yu Ziwen to do some work.
Seeing Yu Ziwen’s mischievous grin as he prepared to hand her a broom, Yu Ting turned around and left.
When Yu Ting returned to the room, she saw Lu Nanchen standing as though he were nailed to her desk, looking down at something, extraordinarily silent. "What are you looking at?"
Yu Ting tilted her head curiously from behind.
"Let’s go," Lu Nanchen’s voice took on a husky tone, "We’ll talk when we get back."
From Yu Ting’s perspective, if she looked up a little, she could see his pitch-black eyes, slightly stunned.
She had never seen Lu Nanchen like this before.
After saying this, Lu Nanchen put the drafted paper back into his pocket and swiftly walked out, leaving the room.
Tingling sound.
It left Yu Ting alone with the tinkling wind chimes.
Lu Nanchen was upset.
Realizing this, Yu Ting was even more stunned. She didn’t know what had happened in those few minutes she had been away. After some thought, she too left the room.
Downstairs, Lu Nanchen gave a brief greeting to Yu Ting’s father, mother, and two brothers, then took Yu Ting and left the house. From the descent of the stairs to returning to the driver’s seat, not a word had passed.
"If you have something on your mind, don’t hold it in, talking about it is the best way to solve the problem." From her perspective in the backseat, Yu Ting, having been curiously watching Lu Nanchen’s sour expression, asked. She had already completely scrutinized her actions before they came over.
A clear conscience breeds confidence.
"Let’s talk about it when we get back." Lu Nanchen let out a deep breath, his brows still knitted. He slightly got up from his seat to fasten Yu Ting’s seat belt, "Let’s have a good talk when we get back."
It’s best not to talk about these things in public.
The scent of cedarwood on the man disappeared, and after fastening Yu Ting’s seatbelt, Lu Nanchen sat back down and started the car.
Perhaps because of his mood, Lu Nanchen was driving faster than usual.
They arrived back at the Lu Family Manor before dark. Lu Nanchen took Yu Ting’s hand and quickly walked inside. His face was serene as he briefly greeted the servants.
Only after they entered the room did Lu Nanchen let go of her hand, handing that draft paper to Yu Ting.
Yu Ting, who had been confused the whole way, reached out to take it, commencing an assault.
’I really like Shen Sheng.’
Yu Ting: ...
Her eyes quickly scanned through the text. The words inside were all about a little girl’s beautiful longings for the future and her admiration for Shen Sheng, as well as the words about wanting to divorce Lu Nanchen at the end.
It was a diary that the original host had written about Shen Sheng.
As Yu Ting read the draft, Lu Nanchen watched her.
"Do you still like Shen Sheng now and still want a divorce?"
