The Song Group has built extensive shopping malls, prevalently found in all first-tier cities and some second-tier ones. After days of busyness, it was necessary to check how the newly-opened malls were running.
Ning Xuan, upon receiving the information, booked a flight to the destination that night.
The very next morning, she got dressed and rode with Song Yue to the airport. Dressed in comfortable clothing for mobility and carrying a bag filled with relevant documents for Song Yue, she gave off a remarkably ordinary vibe, her hair tied up casually, with loose strands falling behind her neck.
Comparatively, Song Yue was dressed much more formally in his suit and shoes, being the genuine leader. Clad in a thick overcoat and with glasses perched on his nose, his prominent appearance and exceptional brightness were reflective of his wealth, affluence, and connections as a successful Jiang Qi personality. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Ning Xuan didn’t quite see it that way though. Comparing Song Yue’s slight figure to her own portly father, her eyebrows unintentionally furrowed.
The two of them climbed into a private vehicle, with Ning Xuan in the passenger’s seat and Song Yue in the back.
After more than half an hour, they successfully arrived at the airport and boarded their flight on time. While sharing seats on the plane, they were bound for out-of-town.
The journey was long, approximately three to four hours. Being used to high-pressure work after bustling around for almost half a month, Song Yue was fine with it all. Ning Xuan, however, after being busy for several days and sitting in the car previously, couldn’t help but feel incredibly worn out as she sank into the soft seat. Her eyelids started to droop.
After forcing herself to stay awake for more than an hour, Ning Xuan found herself in deep sleep. Her head resting precariously at the edge of the seatback was about to slide off and topple onto Song Yue’s shoulder next to her.
Song Yue, sitting beside her, was well-aware of this and kept an eye on her slumping head.

...
...
As a reflex, he subconsciously moved a bit to the side.
Ning Xuan’s head met with thin air instead of resting on Song Yue’s shoulder and fell harshly, causing her to jolt awake from her sleep.
Glancing at her twisted posture and then at Song Yue, who had retreated a little in the opposite direction, she apologized quickly to him and then resettled herself comfortably before dozing off.
Unfortunately, she found herself back in dreamland just a few minutes later.
Song Yue looked at Ning Xuan’s peaceful sleeping face. No doubt, Ning Xuan at rest was a rare vision of gentleness. He watched her for a while before returning to his seat.
The plane continued its journey, growing gradually distant above Jiangqi City.
...
By the time they reached L City, it was already 1 in the afternoon. Ning Xuan had been asleep until then; waking up disoriented, she resumed her secretarial duties, immediately booking a restaurant for Song Yue to address the pressing issue of hunger.
Once everything was sorted, they went towards the newly-opened chain mall after having their meal. It was around three to four in the afternoon when they arrived.
The mall manager and some higher-ups, having received the news of Song Yue’s arrival in advance, were already waiting. They lined up at the entrance, ready to welcome Song Yue.
The person-in-charge greeted Song Yue with utmost enthusiasm, and Song Yue reciprocated the effort with a smile and inquired about the mall’s recent performance.
As his secretary, Ning Xuan stayed behind Song Yue throughout, maintaining a distance of one or two meters.
It didn’t bode well if she lingered too close and caught too much of their conversation.
Over time, the crowd inside the mall increased. By the time negotiations concluded and Ning Xuan and Song Yue left, it was five or six in the evening, the prime time for foot traffic.
