Sleeping out in the bitter chill of the early morning, Lu Nanchen drenched himself in sweat. Minutes later, his eyes popped open, rousing him from his dream. His smooth forehead was slick with sweat; the pristine ceiling of his bedroom welcomed his awakening gaze.
Lu Nanchen was still reeling from the nightmare he had just experienced, reliving the days of his freshman year.
From somewhere near his chest, the calm and steady breathing of a woman could be heard. It teetered between being hot and ticklish.

Lu Nanchen gazed at Yu Ting, his thoughts drifting off. He gripped her tighter instinctively, a flicker of coldness passing across his eyes.

Minutes later, Lu Nanchen opened his eyes once more.
Unable to sleep due to the chaos in his mind caused by his instinct to link yesterday’s episode at the auction house with the incident near VG Entertainment yesterday afternoon, he rose to his feet, distancing himself from Yu Ting.
Lu Nanchen sat up, carefully covering Yu Ting with the blanket again, his gaze lingering for a long moment on her face as he smoothed out the fabric. Only then did he straighten up.
