The two men standing beside unconsciously turned their heads to glance. Upon clearly seeing the newcomer, their expressions became more composed.
Zhou Chengyan’s gaze quickly sweeped over two men, before landing on Yu Ting. Intriguing.
He had not only watched from the second floor before coming here, but also had quietly listened in for a short while.
A rather distinctive woman.
The subtle changes in the two men’s appearances were captured by Yu Ting’s attentive gaze, making her respond more coldly, "We’re not acquainted, are we?"
The three of them knew one another.
Yu Ting narrowed her eyes slightly at Zhou Chengyan, rummaging in his memories.
No impression.
Not a friend of the original host.
So this must be... unsolicited familiarity?
"Hmm, indeed we are not acquainted," Zhou Chengyan straightforwardly admitted, feeling it was nothing, just a casual flirtation.
Calling her a little girl because she was younger than him.
The familiar tone was a habitual behaviour, the kind he always used when doing business and discussing deals.
"Hmm." Seeing the two men knew him, Yu Ting instantly lost any desire to converse further, and continued her game.
The game had just wrapped up—three, two, three, eight points, a small win.
She had won.
Yu Ting began to gather her winnings.
"How did you come to gamble away two billion playing Guess the Dice? Don’t your family mind?" Zhou Chengyan moved to one side suggesting, thinking she must not know any other games. "Would you like to learn some other games?"
Perhaps he could nurture a gambler in her, and then she’d become a regular casino patron.
Yu Ting, whose thoughts he successfully guessed, didn’t feel anything. The fact that those two men knew him had already brought down the impression score, and on top of that, his aggressive looks took his score directly into the negatives.
"No need, thank you."
She answered him formally and decisively. Yu Ting’s attitude couldn’t be clearer. It was as if ’I just play Guess the Dice’ was written on her face. Considering it was about time, Yu Ting gathered her things and walked toward the front desk, ready to leave.
She would find some other ways to spend money once she got back. She guessed this would be the end of Part 1.
...
Zhou Chengyan, who had been rebuffed, still stood in his place, watching her decisive figure from the back. He shrugged indifferently. If it was a failure, then so be it. He didn’t feel anything.
The smile on his face didn’t diminish. He turned around and walked back upstairs.
The two men respectfully called out to Zhou Chengyan when no one else could hear, "Second Master." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The Second Master.
Zhou Chengyan of Nanshan Zhou family, fondly called the Mad Second Master.
Ran a casino, invested in real estate, Mad Second Master Zhou who carried out whatever he fancied.
If he found it interesting, he would go for it.
If he wanted it, he would take it.
"Hmm, you two still need to improve your operational capabilities. Go back and practice. Don’t disgrace me," Zhou Chengyan said, scratching his hair. There was now an overly large smile on his face, seeming dangerous.
He uttered many words in one go. His mouth opening and closing, a tongue piercing in the middle of his tongue glistening frostily under the light.
"Yes, sir."
After giving orders to his subordinates, Zhou Chengyan lazily headed toward the second floor. During this time, he received several text messages.
They were messages from his company’s secretary.
[Second Master, someone came and bought more than 80 units today.]
The news of someone buying more than 80 units at the housing estate center during the day had been passed from the company’s grassroots level to the secretary.
The secretary generally did not report to the Second Master unless something was amiss, but today’s incident was indeed strange, so the secretary mentioned it to him.
Zhou Chengyan raised an eyebrow at the number.
More than 80 units...
[Who bought them?]
As soon as he sent this, the secretary’s reply arrived.
