Li Heng managed to get Jing Hengshu’s phone number and called him without hesitation.
The phone was hung up several times before it was finally answered. Jing Hengshu’s annoyed voice echoed through the line. He was still embarrassed from being abruptly dismissed from the company and didn’t know how to explain it to his superiors. He’d spent a few rough days at the office.
Seeing the call was from an unknown number, he wanted to hang up, but the caller was persistent.
Who the hell keeps calling? 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"Hello? Who’s that?"
"It’s me, Li Heng." Declaring his name right off the bat, Li Heng, now dressed, leaned on the balcony railing, responding with a smirk.
Upon hearing ’Li Heng’, Jing Hengshu went from surprised to rapidly changing his tone, sounding noticeably kinder, "Oh~ Brother Li, what’s up?"
Li Heng’s call stirred new hope in Jing Hengshu.
If he can’t climb up Yu Ting’s ladder, why not do the same with Li Heng! Li Heng has got more power than her anyway.
Li Heng must have put in a great deal of time tracking down his number; he must have something in mind...
Finishing his conversation with Li Heng, Jing Hengshu, the hunky man, sat on his bed lost in his thoughts.
"You’re the guy who got turned down after offering yourself as a bedside companion and got dismissed on the same night, right?"
Li Heng’s casual words felt like a knife plunging into Jing Hengshu’s heart.
Stab one.
Jing Hengshu: ...
"Don’t be shy. Tell me what happened in the hotel that night." I can spread the story.
Jing Hengshu: ...
"Did you bribe someone for Yu Ting’s address, then took a bath, got your hair done, and..."
Li Heng’s words were not easily dismissed by Jing Hengshu. After a minute or so of silence, he went on to recount the events of the night just as they happened.
Upon hearing this, Li Heng raised his eyebrows, clicking his tongue in disbelief.
"Such a loser? You really didn’t even get to enter the room?"
Stab two.
Jing Hengshu: ...
During the long night, Li Heng’s thoughts twisted and turned, "Are you by any chance, ugly?"

Jing Hengshu: ...
This situation was already embarrassing enough, but then Li Heng had to add insult to injury.
Sitting on his bed, Jing Hengshu felt as if this phone call was nothing more than Li Heng trying to humiliate him.
Could it be... he’s in cahoots with Yu Ting?
"Did you leave anything behind?"
Li Heng asked Jing Hengshu with a tone that suggested disbelief.
Jing Hengshu: ...
"Yes, I had someone take pictures."

The next day.
The very relaxed Yu Ting woke up next to Lu Nanchen. Her arms and legs were strewn across his body. Lifting her head slightly, she could see his handsome face with remarkably longer eyelashes from her viewpoint.
She wondered what kept him busy the previous night. He was now sleeping soundly.
Yu Ting shifted a little, widening the gap in the blanket. The morning breeze swept in and chilled her skin.
Yu Ting noticed that her clothes had been changed.
Did he change my clothes?
Yu Ting’s movements stirred Lu Nanchen from his slumber. He fluttered his eyelashes a few times before opening his eyes. He saw the woman lying beside him and rubbed his eyes, "Awake?"
He got little rest due to taking two cold showers throughout the night.
"Mmhmm."
As Yu Ting replied and started to sit up, a large hand suddenly held her down.
Lu Nanchen scooped Yu Ting into his arms, adjusted his position comfortably, then closed his eyes. His chin was buried in her hair as he spoke in a lazy, deep voice, "Then let’s sleep a little more."
