Chapter 350 - 349: "Wei Qinghe, Stand Out."_1

Yu Zijun, who was being treated as the ’female lead’ by the trainees, was feeling a bit sour. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

What’s even more noteworthy is that over the course of these rounds, Yu Zijun had seen Wei Qinghe four times and watched him play four different roles.

Each role was like him.

...

The recording of the second episode was drawing to a close.

In the end, the director’s crew sent a man over. After briefly greeting the teachers and trainees, he began to convey the director’s instructions.

At the end of the second episode, the mentors were to assign learning tasks to the 40 trainees: one task each for singing, acting, and dancing. The 40 trainees would then be split into three teams: A, B, and C.

Team A would focus on singing. Team B on acting. Team C on dancing.

The next two episodes, the third and fourth, would consist of the trainees following their mentors and practicing with their peers.

By the time of the fifth episode, the trainees would take turns performing on stage one by one, receiving feedback from the mentors, and then being ranked by the audience’s vote. The last eight would be eliminated.

As the representative from the production team explained, the trainees listened attentively.

Oddly, Yu Zijun sat in an inconspicuous corner, rising to stretch after a languid yawn, standing firm and graceful.

He was a little tired from being seated for such a long time.

The man spoke for approximately five minutes, then gently smiled and asked, "Did you all understand the rules? If you have any questions, you can ask me now."

A trainee raised his hand and asked, "After the mentors assign the tasks, do we choose whether to sing, dance, or act? Do we form the teams ourselves?"

"No, what you will practice is determined by the mentors. They will assign what they think you are suitable for."

He replied very formally.

Although this is what was said, it is evident that those instructed to dance would partake in dance tasks, and those instructed to sing would partake in singing tasks.

The mentors are not fools; why would they let someone who’s supposed to learn acting partake in dancing or singing instead?

To be innovative?

The representative was still conversing with the trainees while the three mentors had already started selecting scripts provided by the production team to assign as learning tasks.

Yu Zijun, who had only just stood up a short while ago, now had something to do. He reseated himself and began sifting through a pile of scripts, choosing a handful for the trainees based on the current situation in the entertainment industry.

Dramas of heroic patriotism were out; they didn’t suit the trainees’ ages.

Romantic idol dramas were out; this was an all-male group.

...

Bland scenes from daily life were out; he didn’t enjoy watching those.

It took Yu Zijun a full seven minutes to finish.

By the time he finished, the other two mentors had already made their selections and chosen their trainees.

The remaining trainees were Yu Zijun’s responsibility - all trainees studying acting. They stood quietly in groups of three or five before Yu Zijun, waiting for him to finalize his script selections.

Wei Qinghe stood with his hands behind his back next to Zhang Tianbin, occasionally exchanging a few words as they speculated on what type of script Yu Zijun would choose.

What if he ended up with a role he was unfamiliar with? The performance would turn out to be poorly done...

Yu Zijun surveyed the people beneath him, taking a look at everyone to get a rough idea of what they were like. His gaze stopped when he saw Wei Qinghe.

After three minutes of thought, Yu Zijun parted his pleasing lips and uttered, "Wei Qinghe, step forward."
