Chapter 405 - 404: Yu Zijun Comments on the Trainee’s Stage Performance_1

"Okay, okay."

"Thank you teacher."

After she finished speaking, the other two teachers followed and expressed their opinions as well.

The singing teacher, Xiao Xuexue, spoke a lot with a pleasant laugh.

When it was Yu Zijun’s turn, he simply said, "Good dance." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

The room went silent for a second...

Two seconds...

Three seconds...

That’s it?

Seeing the shocked faces of the trainees, Yu Zijun showed no embarrassment. He couldn’t really offer any meaningful feedback, as he was just an outsider joining in.

Regardless, Yu Zijun appeared even more at ease, without a care in the world.

Everyone: ...

The show’s staff: "Well, well, even though the dance was short, it was still stunning. We look forward to your next performance and to see your improvement."

"Next, please welcome the second batch of trainees to perform."

The second group of trainees were performance trainees. There were 21 of them, divided into groups of three, four, or five depending on who fit which role. They performed in five different scenarios, taking turns on stage.

There were performances about patriotism and youthful love at school...

Each segment lasted three to four minutes, and this round lasted over 20 minutes. Yu Zijun watched carefully, never taking his eyes off the performers. His mouth went dry from giving feedback on three to four performers per scenario across five scenarios.

After it ended, Yu Zijun seriously gave his comments.

"Pay attention to your body movements when delivering lines."

"Be honest, you didn’t memorize the script, did you? Why are you stammering so much?"

"Look at your partner, not me. I’m not holding cue cards."

...

After several reviews, everyone could truly appreciate Yu Zijun’s sense of responsibility.

The other two teachers made some playful remarks in between, and then summarised a few points after Yu Zijun finished speaking.

After a few minutes rest, the program staff transitioned with: "Though there were some deficiencies, it’s normal for newcomers to have flaws. Improve upon them, we look forward to your next performance. Now let’s invite the third group of singers on the stage."

Then, 16 singing trainees, divided into two groups, sang two songs consecutively, found their position on the stage, and began singing about 40 seconds after the music started.

After the first group was finished, Wei Qinghe joined the second group on stage to the applause.

Standing on the outside edge of the group of eight, he adjusted his earpiece nervously after finding his spot on stage.

This was his first time singing on stage, not acting. He was nervous.

The accompaniment started around the 36-second mark, and a boy next to the central position started to sing.

With little experience, the teachers haven’t taught them much about body language. They all stood somewhat stiffly, swaying occasionally at a pace akin to an old man doing Tai Chi.

Then, each of the eight sang a small part that they had practiced.

The first climax was sung by the central-positioned boy, and the second climax was sung by Wei Qinghe. He was serious and quickly immersed himself in the song.

Most of the song was gentle and slow, seemingly paving the way for the climax. The climactic part of the song was explosive and high-pitched.

Even the dance teacher seemed somewhat moved while listening.

Three minutes and fifty-nine seconds, the song ended.

The eight boys finished their salute on stage, with Wei Qinghe standing on the corner, his hand resting lightly on his abdomen in the standard pose.
