It seemed that Yu Ting must have told Lu Nanchen about her business trip to Nanshan City that night when she went home. After Lu Nanchen simply inquired about the reason, he began to pack her luggage.
The master bedroom wasn’t too big. Yu Ting sat on the edge of the bed, and from her angle, she could only see the clean, muscular back of the man in front of her. Lu Nanchen busily moved back and forth between the wardrobe and the two other rooms, packing all the necessary and useful items into the suitcase.
He also packed his things along the way.
Yu Ting: ?
"Are you coming with me?" Yu Ting asked.
"Yes." Lu Nanchen answered firmly, "Zhou Chengyan is in Nanshan City, right?"
Yu Ting: ...
"Oh right." Yu Ting responded, the corners of her eyes crinkling with a smile.
Lu Nanchen was pleased with this.
As Yu Ting leaned on the bed thinking, a wave of tiredness washed over her. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and in the hot July, she could not resist the encroaching sleepiness.
The room returned to its calm. Only the sound of Lu Nanchen busily packing things could be heard.
About half an hour later, he finally finished packing. Lu Nanchen zipped up the suitcase and picked it up from the floor. As he turned, he saw Yu Ting, who was propped against the bed and was half asleep. She was bathed in the soft evening sunlight, her aggressive edges softened. She looked serene in sleep, and her black hair softly cascaded around her shoulders.
Watching her, Lu Nanchen walked over quietly, picked her up and gently placed her flat on the bed, then lightly covered her.
Having finished everything and seeing that time was running out, Lu Nanchen decided to let her sleep. He went to the kitchen and prepared some dinner, cooking some of her favorite dishes.
By the time dinner was ready, it was seven o’clock and Yu Ting was still sleeping, showing no signs of waking up.
With gentle steps, Lu Nanchen made his way to the bed and gently shook her. "Wake up, it’s time to eat. You could continue to sleep after dining."
Startled awake, Yu Ting’s brows suddenly furrowed. After rubbing her eyes, she blinked at him a few times, then turned over to continue sleeping.
"I’m not eating, I’m not hungry, I want to sleep."
Her soft voice reached Lu Nanchen’s ears, stunning him momentarily. "Then you should freshen up and change before a good night’s sleep. I will wake you up tomorrow morning."
"Okay."
Helplessly, Lu Nanchen was left to eat the entire spread alone. Then, he freshened up, read for a while in bed. Before going to sleep, he looked at the woman beside him - she was sound asleep and showed no signs of waking up.
Lu Nanchen watched her for about ten minutes, then carefully brushed away a strand of hair from her mouth. Finally, he turned off the light and went to sleep.
The next day, early in the morning.
The flight was at 8 in the morning. Lu Nanchen woke up at six to find his companion still deep in sleep. He couldn’t help but worry, wondering if she was sick.
Deciding to let her sleep in a while longer, Lu Nanchen got ready and had finished freshening up before he gently tapped Yu Ting awake. He softly said, "Time to get up, our flight’s at eight. It’s already past six."
It wasn’t until then that Yu Ting stirred. Even after waking up, she sat on the bed looking as if she would quite like to go back to sleep.
After a moment of listlessness, Yu Ting rubbed her head vigorously and, with a burst of energy, got up from the bed.
"Let’s go."
"What do you feel like eating this morning?"
"I don’t feel like eating anything, I still have no appetite."
Tsk.
"Then I’ll make some porridge, something light to fill your stomach."
