Chapter 421 - 420: Deciding to Keep This Child_1

There was a little playground on the beach, equipped with just a short slide and two swings, which still offered an exciting playtime for some children. Some were sitting on the ground playing with the sand, on the slide sliding, or on the swings swinging.

The young children were even struggling to stand, propping themselves up with their tiny hands. They were a bit dirty from playing, their young parents by their side.

When they grew tired, they would run into their parents’ arms. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

The scene evoked an overwhelming feeling of warm happiness.

Yu Ting found herself spacing out unexpectedly as she watched this scenario. She came back to her senses only to put a hand on her stomach.

It seemed miraculous that soon, a new life would be conceived in her womb.

A child would be born without any worries about food or clothing. Nanchen would take good care of him or her...

Lost in her thoughts, she blankly stared again.

Lu Nanchen, standing beside her, could tell that she was again contemplating the decision. He cunningly looked away, not wanting to interfere with her thoughts.

After they had walked for a while, out of concern that Yu Ting was getting tired, Lu Nanchen helped her find a wooden bench in the park to sit on. He held her hand the entire time.

"You thirsty? I can go and get you some water," Lu Nanchen suggested gently. His feelings were complex, but it did not affect his tender affection for Yu Ting. He clasped her hand in both of his, giving it the occasional squeeze.

Time flies, he mused. It feels like we just got married yesterday, and yet now she’s pregnant.

As these thoughts surfaced, Lu Nanchen felt a wave of melancholy. He tightened his hold on Yu Ting and his look became somber.

From beside them, an orange soccer ball was kicked towards them. The ball bounced and rolled to Lu Nanchen’s feet, followed by a toddler of about three years old. The child’s chubby baby face was dusted with baby fat, his slightly opened mouth drooling a bit. Dressed in a cartoon onesie, the toddler ran towards Lu Nanchen with the baby fat on his body jiggling adorably as he ran.

Both Lu Nanchen and Yu Ting watched the little boy, with Lu Nanchen reaching out to pick up the ball and handing it back to the child.

The toddler, upon reclaiming his ball, looked at Lu Nanchen with his pair of sparkling large eyes and gratefully said, "Thank you, big brother."

His little head nodded slightly.

With a big head and a petite body, the tot wobbled a little.

Hearing the calls of his parents, the little boy scampered back, hugging his father’s leg tightly, with a wide grin plastered on his face that made his eyes squint.

Lu Nanchen: ...

Yu Ting also looked over, her heart filled with mixed emotions at the sight of the happy family. She glanced at the seemingly calm but internally anxious Lu Nanchen beside her, who was so nervous he was sweating just from sitting there. She was tempted to laugh.

She knew.

Lu Nanchen adored children, but he also deeply respected her choices and cared for her well-being.

How would life be after they had a child...

With these thoughts, Yu Ting lifted her head modestly, looking into the clear, blue sky, thinking that having a child seemed like a nice idea.

It was his 27th birthday today, or rather 28th by the traditional Chinese age reckoning.

"Nanchen, I’ve decided to have this child."

Ding.

Ding.

[Please spend 80 million in 12 months.]

The woman’s soft but staunch words reached Lu Nanchen’s ears. He stared at her in a dumbstruck manner for a long time, his eyes welling up with tears. Subsequently, he embraced Yu Ting tightly, burying his face in her neck.

He was only 27. They could have a child later.

What he could not handle now was the idea of losing his life to a child.

He simply couldn’t bear the thought.

Lu Nanchen unresistingly thought that perhaps it was because he was growing older.

"Happy 27th birthday."

Yu Ting could distinctly feel the dampness on her neck after she said these words.
