Both of them made the decision quickly. Yu Ting clearly saw all that Lu Nanchen was doing, a smile lingering at the corners of her mouth.
Fortunately, Lu Nanchen didn’t have many close friends, otherwise, he wouldn’t have stopped making the calls till late into the night.
After finishing his calls, Lu Nanchen diverted his gaze to Yu Ting, who was smiling at him. He exhaled, put his phone back into his pocket, and sat down beside Yu Ting again. "So? Are you feeling nauseous? Did you find any dishes you like?"
Yu Ting shook her head, chopsticks still in her hand, which she had used to pick up poached eggs: "I’m fine for now. I didn’t feel the need to vomit. These dishes are all good, the walnut and black rice porridge was great."
She liked black rice.
Lu Nanchen agreed happily: "Alright, I’ll cook it for you more often."
Yu Ting nodded and continued eating.
Even after dinner, there were plenty of fruits. Lu Nanchen cut a lot - apples, pears, oranges, strawberries, watermelon, bananas, kiwi, dragon fruit. He ate the remaining parts himself.
After the fruits, there was milk.
It could be said that Yu Ting taste-tested all kinds of food during dinner.
While eating, her phone placed on the bedside table suddenly rang. Lu Nanchen got up and handed it to her.
Yu Ting glanced at the caller ID: Mom. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
She swiped right to answer.
"Hello?"
"I heard from your mother-in-law that you’re pregnant? Why didn’t you tell me?" The woman’s voice on the other end sounded slightly anxious.
Yu Ting coughed a few times, touched her nose guiltily, forgetting about it in her routine of eating and sleeping.
"I forgot."
"You see, you’re about to be a mother, and you’re still so forgetful. I’m telling you, giving birth is a major event in a woman’s life. You can’t treat it lightly." Yu’s mother felt overwhelmed whenever she remembered the things Yu Ting used to do.
They now had a child on the way who was as erratic as her...
Yu’s mother felt a bit overwhelmed, she had only one daughter after all.
"Be careful in everything you do, don’t knock or bump into anything. Any mistake could seriously harm you!" Yu’s mother emphasized the latter half of her sentence.
Yu Ting continued to nod.
"We’ll visit you one of these days." Her conversation with Yu Ting ended there, and her tone changed: "Give the phone to Nanchen, I have a few things to say to him."
"Okay, mom wants to talk to you, Nanchen."
"Hello? What’s wrong, mom?"
"Nanchen, Yu Ting is in a special condition now. You know she can be a bit reckless. In the next few months, I hope you take good care of her."
Yu’s mother paused at this point, sighed, and expressed her disappointment for Yu Ting: "After all, if something goes wrong, it could cause a lifetime of harm to her. I don’t want that for my daughter."
Yu Ting felt somewhat touched.
It wasn’t too bad, her mother seemed to care deeply, too.
"After all, she’s already quite clumsy. If her health deteriorates, it would be sad to see."

Lu Nanchen, who had listened intently, smiled at the corner of his eyes and sincerely said: "Even without you saying that, I would still take good care of her, don’t worry."
Then the two of them talked for a while more.
It wasn’t until after seven in the evening that they finished, then Lu Nanchen accompanied Yu Ting for a stroll around Nanshan City, not going too far.
