Chapter 47 - 46: Damned Fool_1

Between the shopping mall and Chang Ming University, there is an old district with a few buildings that have a sense of history. They are five or six stories high, with gray walls dotted here and there. Among the man-made greeneries planted on both sides, one could still see debris that had fallen off.

The old district boasts a famous snack street. The dozens of meters long alley on both sides are all food vendors. You can find local specialties, five-star restaurants, and a variety of special snacks here. Plus, there are plenty of stands and vendors selling fried flatbread and other snacks.

When the two came out of the shopping mall and naturally drifted into this area, suddenly Yu Ting heard strange noises that disrupted the somewhat ambiguous atmosphere between them.

The sounds seemed like the clatter of sharp objects colliding and the rubbing of hands, originating from a narrow alleyway nearby. She looked over — the alley was only about two or three meters wide, and its depth was unknown. Due to the sweltering summer heat, cracks occasionally appeared on the cement ground.

Then, out of curiosity, she headed towards it.

"Wait here for me."

Yu Ting instructed Lu Nanchen as she strode off.

Watching Yu Ting’s actions and hearing her words, Lu Nanchen couldn’t fathom what she was up to, but chose to respect her decision and obediently stood still, baffled about her intentions.

Yu Ting, who was walking ahead, softened her footsteps. When she reached the end of the alley and turned the corner, she saw a group of people fighting.

The one being beaten appeared to be a short-haired boy in the middle. At the moment, he was hanging his head low and his face was unrecognizable. His designer clothes were crinkled, and some parts had dried spots of blood. It seemed like the assault had been going on for some time; the boy was now squatting on the ground, gasping for breath heavily.

He glared ominously at the boys in front of him, frequently licking his back teeth.

Not only did the group outnumber him, they kept calling in more. In the blink of an eye, more than twenty people were on the scene.

Two unhurt boys were blocking the path behind, and there were about a dozen boys standing in the alley in front of them. Despite it being summer, they were flaunting their bared arms, their hairstyles and clothing diverse. It seemed as though there were more people standing in the depth of the dark alley.

Oh wow, a gang fight off-campus.

Not only did Yu Ting notice them, but they also heard the footsteps and noticed her. Right then, over a dozen pairs of eyes converged on Yu Ting.

"..."

As many eyes met hers, remembering the saying that curiosity killed the cat, Yu Ting pondered for a moment, didn’t say a word, and planned to leave.

"No good, she’s going to call the police! Quick, Little Four, grab her back here. We can’t let her call the police, hurry up!"

?

Whatever was going on in the minds of those young lads behind her, an indignant male voice rang out, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps.

??????

What the hell??

Can’t you see I’m running away?

When Yu Ting heard what the boy had said, she felt rather exasperated. Abandoning her plans to leave, she playfully poked at her cheek with her tongue, turned around, and shouted to Song Zhan: "Hey, if I help you fight, do I get paid?"

Song Zhan: ?

The young gangsters: ?

The sudden plot twist left more than twenty people stunned.

Song Zhan was the first to react, finding the situation interesting. Not caring that the voice belonged to a girl, he agreed readily.

"Yes."

Getting the affirmative answer from the victim, Yu ting immediately sprung into action. She picked up an aluminum water pipe leaning against the wall nearby and swung it hard at the boy who was about to catch her.

"Dumb motherfucker."
