It has to be said, what Yu Ting expressed was hugely appealing to the man surnamed Yu.
Initially things were fine, but in the past one to two years, Shen Ruchu’s capitalist tendencies have become increasingly apparent. Under her leadership, the conditions at Southwest Entertainment could best be described as "hanging by a thread". Staff salaries haven’t seen a rise in years, over-time pay on statutory holidays is low, the working hours are long, there’s no expansion, staff workloads are heavy, and she’s quick to criticize.
Furthermore, Shen Ruchu is highly cautious and guarded, making it difficult for the shareholders like them to intervene in the company’s affairs. It’s almost as if they’re just holding empty shell investments - functionally useless.
The persistent drop in the company’s value was something he had anticipated.
The man on the other end of the phone fell silent after listening to this.
Yu Ting matched his silence, giving him a moment to contemplate, then added: "I’m sure you don’t find the recent unflattering performance of Southwest Entertainment pleasing. The employees are still the same, the protocols remain the same - none of that is in question. The issue lies with the leadership, with Shen Ruchu."
"After everything I’ve said, I’m sure you know what I’m getting at," Yu Ting stated in a soft voice, her lips curling upward in an undropped smile.
"This wouldn’t happen if I were in charge of managing Southwest Entertainment."
Her words dropped like a bomb between the two of them, prompting further silence from the man on the other end.
"Presumably, you’ve noticed the recent developments of VG Entertainment. Both its reputation and popularity have been steadily increasing."
"This speaks louder than any words I could say. Our strength is evident - we have a top-tier management team (Song Zhan), backed by significant capital. Taking the lead is now a done deal."
"So why does Southwest Entertainment insist on resisting futilely? And why do you needlessly persist in holding on?"
Nearing the end, Yu Ting threw in a little jest, passing the opportunity to speak back to the stakeholder from Southwest Entertainment. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
She gave him ample time to contemplate and digest her proposal.
Feeling the moment was right, Yu Ting added: "Mr. Yu, we should meet up one day soon to discuss this matter in detail. The meeting place would be..."
"I’ll choose." After a solid period of silence, the man had finally made his decision and asserted himself.
His attitude was apparent.
At this, Yu Ting grinned more profoundly and swiftly responded, "Alright."
"I will send the address to your cell phone. Let’s meet and discuss this in detail tomorrow."
"Sounds good."
"I look forward to it."
Yu Ting said, to which the other end was quick to respond affirmatively.
She then hung up the phone, and calm returned to her accommodation; all that could be heard was Lu Nanchen rustling around packing. Once he finished packing one suitcase, he began with another, occasionally glancing at Yu Ting, "Finished talking? How did it go?"
"It’s pretty much a done deal. I got through to him," Yu Ting replied.
Upon hearing this, Lu Nanchen paused his activity, "How many shares does he have? Didn’t I transfer all of Shen Ruchu’s shares that were under my name to you? How much does that all come up to?"
Yu Ting thought for a moment, and ran some simple calculations: "28.1%, then Shen Ruchu’s 39%, I might need to contact another five or six people..."
"Hmmm...that’s not too slow."
An air of relief was audible in Lu Nanchen’s voice.
"Yes, finding the people isn’t the hard part, the hard part is convincing them."
