During the elevator’s descent, it stopped nearly on every floor, with Southwest Entertainment’s employees constantly boarding.
There’s a saying that a fallen tiger would be bullied by dogs. In the past, the employees would have held their breath when encountering Shen Ruchu in the elevator, for fear of job security.
But times have changed. Shen Ruchu no longer has any power. She had a significant confrontation with the newly appointed boss of VG and was essentially stripped of her power. Now, the employees in front of Shen Ruchu tended to expose their true selves more.
Apart from very few who would greet Shen Ruchu, most employees had suffered under Shen Ruchu’s oppression and were met with an attitude of indifference or coldness.
In a small elevator, Shen Ruchu held a box, surrounded by several former employees standing coldly.
It felt as if time had slowed down significantly.
The silent entrance and exit of employees seemed to have nothing to do with Shen Ruchu.
Ding.
The elevator arrived on the first floor. Shen Ruchu, holding her box, made her move to step out, just as several VG employees were distributing evening meals. In the cold lobby, people were beaming with joy, making overtime seem like a cause for celebration.
Shen Ruchu was a little stunned at the scene.
She wondered how they could still distribute meals to employees...
"The treatment is much better than when Shen Ruchu was here."
A staff member who received dinner commented. At the mention of Shen Ruchu, his smile faded somewhat.
"That’s true. They used to provide pitiful overtime pay, much less than many other companies! I can’t find a second company that pays lower overtime wages than hers."
"Indeed, if it weren’t for the fact that my favorite idol is signed here, I would have left long ago! As if this place is something special."
The employee spoke disdainfully.
As he spoke, he was nudged by a co-worker who gestured towards Shen Ruchu’s direction, hinting,"She’s coming, stop talking."
True enough, the chattering employee spotted Shen Ruchu, and his expression became even more irritated: "So what if she’s here? Can a person who’s all form and no substance change anything in front of our new boss? What I’m saying is nothing but the truth. To be honest, I’ve already written my resignation letter and planned to submit it in the next few days if it weren’t for this sudden good news!"
"Any company that doesn’t treat their employees as human beings, and with an arrogant and narcissistic boss, I don’t know why anyone would want to stay!"
"Not only will I leave, my idol will definitely flee in the future."
The employee said angrily. His words resounded clearly in the ears of many people, including Shen Ruchu’s.
No one disagreed.
Shen Ruchu looked at her for a while, and then around the surrounding employees.
It seemed that they all agreed with what was said.
With that, Shen Ruchu lowered her head slightly, silently left the company.
She stood under the building of Southwest Entertainment, where she had spent years, stared at it for a while, and then returned home without uttering a word.
After setting down her belongings in the living room, Shen Ruchu sat in front of the makeup mirror, remaining silent.
Seemingly calm, yet like a turbulent storm raging on.
Her eyes, staring at the mirror, were full of bloodshot, a vast expanse of red. Shen Ruchu just kept staring at the mirror.
Suddenly, she raised her hand and swept all the cosmetics and skincare products on the table onto the floor.
The glass products made a clanging sound, and a strange fragrance permeated the room.
"Ah!"
