The more Lu Xiaobao thought about it, the wider his grin became as he sat on the chair, a piece of leafy green clearly visible between his teeth under the bright incandescent light.
Yu Ting paused mid-bite into a shrimp, glancing at Lu Xiaobao and then at Lu Nanchen.
The two of them had always slept in separate rooms and beds.
How could Lu Xiaobao sleep in the middle...?
Would their beds be pushed together?
It must be said, Lu Nanchen was truly unflappable. He simply looked at Lu Xiaobao and nonchalantly said, "Let’s eat first. We’ll talk about this after dinner and a bath."

"Where are your change of clothes?"
"They’re in Xiaobao’s backpack."
The grown-up and the child soon fell into an easy conversation, not mentioning the topic of sharing a bed. Yu Ting also didn’t say anything extra, quietly eating his meal by their side.
Lu Nanchen hadn’t stopped peeling shrimps, worried they might go bad if left in the refrigerator for too long. Over dinner, he made a large platter and was still peeling them now. His cold, pale fingers under the light made him look a bit intimidating, but his long, thin knuckles were admirable, as if he was a hand model. His face was serious as he looked down at the shrimps, his long eyelashes making him inexplicably stylish.
Indeed, serious men are the most attractive.
I wasn’t wrong.
"Hmm, there’s some greens in your front teeth," Lu Nanchen said as he glanced over at Lu Xiaobao for the last time. He then continued to seriously peel the shrimps, placing them in Lu Xiaobao’s bowl from time to time and dropping some into Yu Ting’s bowl as well.
"Really? I’ll dig it out."
When there were only a few shrimps left on the plate, Lu Nanchen got up from his chair and walked to the kitchen sink. He turned on the faucet, squeezed some milky-white hand soap on his hands, making sure every part of his hand was lathered up - even the webbing between his fingers. Then, he rinsed his hands thoroughly, rubbing them together and kneading underneath the faucet water.

Once the three of them had finished eating and Yu Ting went to clear the table, Lu Nanchen followed Lu Xiaobao to see his neatly packed change of clothes in the backpack. From tops to trousers, there were three sets in total.
While the two of them were chatting on the couch, Yu Ting was cleaning the table in the kitchen, putting dishes into the dishwasher and wiping down the surface.
While sitting and chatting with Xiaobao, Lu Nanchen glanced towards Yu Ting, who was tidying up the kitchen. After a few seconds, his gaze returned to Lu Xiaobao.
Time flew by quickly after dinner, and around eight o’clock, Lu Nanchen looked at the clock on the wall and then at Lu Xiaobao. He began to pull out Xiaobao’s teddy bear pyjamas from the bag.
"It’s getting late. I’ll take you to bathe."
"Okay~"
Saying that, Xiaobao hopped off the couch, and stood next to Lu Nanchen.
Once he grabbed the clothes, Nanchen picked up Xiaobao, who now seemed rather difficult to handle due to the nearly 70cm height difference between them. He held Xiaobao in one arm, and laid the pajamas over his back with the other hand.
Xiaobao laughed happily, and wrapped both his hands around Nanchen’s neck.
The two of them moved from the living room to the bathroom, with Nanchen calling out to Yu Ting on the way, "I’m taking him for a bath."
"Oh, okay."
Upon saying that, the sound of the bathroom door closing with a click could be heard, and soon after, the sound of splashing water came from inside.
"You’re really great, big brother!"
"Even when Xiaobao grows up, will you still give him a bath?"
"No."
"Oh... Then when Xiaobao grows up, he’ll give you a bath!"
