Chapter 72 - 71: Lost 480 million in Three Years of Starting a Business_1

A loud clunk echoed as the bowl forcefully met the tabletop.

It almost gave the impression that, if she could, Yu Ting would have had Lu Nanchen eat his meal directly off the table.

Seated in his chair, Lu Nanchen was a bit nonplussed.

Her hands seemed unusually strong this morning.

After merely uttering a sigh of surprise, Lu Nanchen unflinchingly received the bowl as usual and began to eat his breakfast.

Seeing Lu Nanchen’s indifferent reaction, Yu Ting felt as if she were punching into cotton. She gave up, grabbed her own bowl, and sat down on a nearby chair to eat breakfast.

After getting an omelet for Lu Xiaobao, Lu Nanchen also took one for Yu Ting.

Yu Ting’s frustration gradually subsided, and she began to ponder more deeply.

He had carried all the groceries they bought yesterday afternoon.

The shrimp they ate last night was peeled by him.

He swept the floors at home.

He folded Xiaobao’s clothes.

The more she thought about it, the less angry Yu Ting felt, she could only say that this man was frankly very dorky.

...

After having breakfast and cleaning up, the three of them headed to the supermarket. Lu Xiaobao chose items, Yu Ting paid, and Lu Nanchen carried the groceries.

Seeing the unchanging balance on the card and the increasing number of items at home, Lu Nanchen was bewildered.

...

Meanwhile, in a villa in Jiangqi City.

The three-storey house, plus an underground garage, featured a common European interior design. An extensive number of floor-to-ceiling windows let in abundant light. The sight of light dancing on the shimmering surface of the swimming pool was enchanting. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

A man sat on the couch in the living room. A handsome face adorned with golden-rimmed glasses, draped in a gray robe tied around the waist, his hands lain on the backrest in a casual fashion. The skin exposed by the opened front of his robe appeared so fair under the sunlight.

Another man sat on the sofa next to him, compared to the freshly awakened Song Yue, he was quite properly dressed — in a white short-sleeve shirt and black trousers, his hair trimmed exceptionally short.

At second glance, the two indeed looked somewhat similar. One resembled their mother, the other their father, currently seated at either end of the sofa.

"You’ve failed several times already. Why are you still asking me for money?" Sleepy-eyed Song Yue impudently said, frequently yawning, "Do you think my money comes from thin air?"

"Yes," Song Zhan stubbornly responded.

"Bullshit, you should be like Zuo Fugui, just stay at home and live off your parents!"

"I won’t stoop to that, living off your parents is disgraceful!" Song Zhan rebuffed resolutely.

This retort of his made Song Yue laugh.

"You starting and running businesses into the ground is even worse than living off your parents," Song Yue mercilessly poked fun at his little brother’s failings, "The year before last you said you wanted to start a livestock breeding business, that small profits would accumulate. I agreed, but then a bird flu outbreak caused me to lose one billion."

"Last year you wanted to sell electronic products, but then the country’s new policies came to support state-owned enterprises, causing me to lose 1.5 billion."

"Last year you wanted to do something big by getting into real estate, buying land to build houses on, however, nobody bought there, causing me to lose 2.3 billion."

"So what are you planning this year? I, the capitalist who sits at home all day, is being exploited by you."

Song Yue, sat on the sofa, now and then massaged his eyes to wake himself up and poured out his grievances. Faced with his over-ambitious little brother, he was quite distraught.

Over three years, he had lost 4.8 billion.

Confronted with Song Yue’s questions and his undeniable past mistakes, Song Zhan was left speechless this time.

"Just trust me one more time, I am sure it will work this year."

"You should just live off your parents."

"No, I want to start a business."
