Chapter 74 - 73: Dawn Elementary School _1

A few days later.

After the students returned from their National Day break, they faced the formidable task of catching up on many lessons. There were probably four to five classes a day, sometimes a full schedule.

Lu Nanchen did not take advantage of any free time to catch up on the few math lessons he had missed. After finishing his first afternoon lesson, he left the classroom to head off campus. As he was walking down the corridor, a woman emerged from a side alley and blocked his path. Her expression showed the shy blush she couldn’t suppress and her voice trembled a bit as she spoke.

"Teacher Lu, I would like to treat you to dinner, in the hope that you could give me a little extra help with my studies in the future..."

The pitch of Lin Yan’s voice dropped slightly as she continued talking.

"My father is a university teacher too. Perhaps you two could find common ground, which could be useful for your doctoral studies."

Lu Nanchen’s stride was impeded by Lin Yan’s abrupt appearance, his gaze falling upon her.

She had a strange face.

"No need. You’re better off using that money to join a tutorial class. I have something to take care of now," Lu Nanchen said, intending to change direction and exit the premises.

Unexpectedly, Lin Yan moved a few steps and once again blocked Lu Nanchen’s path. "Don’t you want to further your studies and get your Ph.D.? My dad can help you. He knows many famous teachers from prestigious institutions."

Even though Lu Nanchen showed no interest and tried to leave, Lin Yan still persisted. She began to fabricate stories, underestimating the urgency of the situation, and abruptly reached out to grab Lu Nanchen’s hand.

Why?

My family is not inferior in any way.

She, Yu Ting, simply isn’t a match for Brother Nanchen!

Lu Nanchen, who found these events inconvenient, removed Lin Yan’s hand and shot her a glance, then turned around and continued his way.

"Stop bothering me. I need to pick up my child from school."

The small crowd that had gathered due to Lin Yan flirting with Lu Nanchen exploded even more at this comment from him.

"What the heck, a kid? Professor Lu has a child?"

Upon hearing this, Lin Yan was stunned and stood in place, her pupils contracted. The loud discussions around her became indistinct. Thinking back to Yu Ting’s condition a few months before, she immediately ruled out this possibility.

Yu Ting had never been pregnant, so the child must not be Brother Nanchen’s!

Probably just a relative’s kid.

The crowd around continued to speculate due to their lack of knowledge.

...

"Did you guys hear about Mr. Song losing money again?"

"Hey, hey, breaking news! That math teacher from the computer science department, Professor Lu, apparently has a child now. He even went to pick up his child from school today."

"Impossible! He’s so young; how could he possibly have a child already!"

"There’s nothing impossible...it’s not like it’s unheard of, plus didn’t you see him wearing a wedding ring?"

"That’s not a wedding ring! He just wears it because it looks good."

Online, the idealist and realist factions clashed, unable to tolerate each other’s viewpoints.

Idealists were more willing to believe that an old spinster was getting married than to believe that Professor Lu was married, let alone a father.

...

"It must be a relative’s child."

"Yes, yes, yes, I think so too."

...

The idealists responded in force, continuing their strategies for making a move on Lu Nanchen.

After three lessons, the energetic sound of the school bell rang out. Once the class was dismissed by the teacher on duty, they left the classroom.

A tiny student who had been packing their school bag during class dashed out the room as soon as they were dismissed.

Sitting in the second seat of the third row, Lu Xiaobao just started putting his books away. He put the Chinese textbook from the last lesson into his blue bag.

A chubby student walked aggressively from the back row to Lu Xiaobao’s side and kicked the leg of his desk.

Bang.
