After a good night’s sleep, Lu Nanchen got up early the next day. He quietly left the room to prepare breakfast and waited for Yu Ting to wake up before he started on his crucial task for the day.
He began to set up another bed in the bedroom.
Taking into consideration the convenience it would provide for Yu Ting’s mobility, Lu Nanchen made sure there was a meter and a half of space between the two beds. He attended to the bedding next, carefully fitting the mattress and changing the bed linens.
Meanwhile, Yu Ting, holding a glass of orange juice, leaned against the doorway, watching Lu Nanchen’s busy figure, looking relaxed and carefree.
She made some tongue clicks from time to time.
She was somewhat moved.
He had thought of that too.
"What’s up?"
Hearing the faint sound, Lu Nanchen finished smoothing the wrinkles on the bedsheets and turned around to ask. Movement had creased his clothes, and with the sleeves rolled up, the slender shirt hugged his skin closely, revealing hints of his muscular physique.
Yu Ting found herself staring a bit longer than usual, and then took a slight bite of the cup’s rim, replying, "Nothing, just watching you work."
"Seems like you’re done with most of the things now, right? You even changed the bed covers."
"Yes, I am all done." Lu Nanchen approached Yu Ting and responded with a subtle smile on his face.
He would be happy if they didn’t have to use separate rooms.
He moved closer to Yu Ting and asked, "Where would you like to go for a walk after dinner?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Yu Ting had set meal times every day, so she usually planned her strolls with similar punctuality and regularity.
"Let’s go to the mall. I haven’t had a chance to explore it since moving here." Holding a glass in her hand, Yu Ting suggested after some considerations. Lu Nanchen promptly agreed. The couple stepped out of the bedroom, basked in the sun on the balcony for a while before Lu Nanchen proceeded to prepare lunch.
After lunch, Yu Ting didn’t do anything; instead, she took an afternoon nap at home.
It was only after dinner that she put on flat shoes and walked out of the door with Lu Nanchen.
The evening sky was always the most beautiful sight. The couple bathed in the warm, golden light as they took a leisurely stroll towards the mall.
Upon nearing the mall, Yu Ting finally got a view of the banner hanging over the mall entrance.

Being the spokesperson for their products, Yu Ting was familiar with the brand. The event was running for several days. Tonight, there were more people gathered around the area than last night. Yu Ting noticed that many families were congregating near a large inflatable castle and a temporary stage had been set up next to it.
On the stage were a male and a female host, possibly running an interactive segment. They were crouching down, interviewing three kids.
Their childish voices echoed from the nearby speakers.
Also, several life-sized cutouts of endorsements were kept next to the stage.
Yu Ting spotted her own cutout, prominently placed, next to the stage. She was shown holding a pack of diapers.

For a moment, her legs felt as heavy as lead. She found herself unable to move forward.
While her mind was still preoccupied with her thoughts, she felt a tug on her hand. She followed the motion and was met with a little girl standing side by side with her. About six years old, the girl had two small pigtails, a radiant smile on her face, and unclouded, round eyes.
In one hand, she held a pink plastic transformation magic wand. She pointed the other one towards the cutout to show Yu Ting.
"Big Sister, you look a lot like the big sister displayed on that signage."
After her pregnancy, Yu Ting had been spending her days without makeup, which was a stark contrast to the fully made-up picture of hers.
We could say she looked 50-60% similar.
Trying to speak to Yu Ting, the girl had tilted her head unnaturally high, her mouth a small ’o’, saliva glistening on her lips.
Her eyelashes were like brushes, batting with every blink.
"You are really pretty, Big Sister."
Then, her eyes fell on Lu Nanchen who was standing next to Yu Ting. The way her head was tilted back even more severely gave the impression she could topple backwards any moment.
Yu Ting took a glance at her cutout, bent her knees to come down to the girl’s height and said, "You’re pretty too, and your eyes are very bright."
Addressing her further, Yu Ting stroked her hair, casually supporting the back of her head, "Stand steady, don’t fall backward. It’s not good to stretch your head so much to look at people."
"Okay~," the little girl finally lowered her head and her gaze landed on Yu Ting’s protruding belly. Her little paw tenderly touched it.
"Big Sister, do you have a baby in there?"
"Yes."
Yu Ting’s affirmative answer made the little girl excited. Lu Nanchen was slightly worried the girl might press too hard on Yu Ting’s stomach.
With a big beautiful smile on her face, complete with dimples and her big eyes squinted into crescents, the girl held the magic wand in her hands and then abruptly closed her eyes in front of Yu Ting.
Then she muttered some incantation.
"May the baby look as beautiful as its Big Sister."
"May the baby be healthy, happy, and grow tall."

She struggled a bit while saying the last part. After hemming and hawing for a while, she couldn’t make out the next words.
She couldn’t find the words.
"Study hard, good health."
Next, she waved around the magic wand and touched Yu Ting’s belly using it.

"Done~" After completing the ritual, the girl cheerfully called out. Upon hearing someone calling her, she waved adorably at Yu Ting and walked away.
Having witnessed the entire process, Yu Ting was a bit puzzled. She stopped the little girl and asked, "What was that you did just now?"
Caught by Yu Ting, the girl’s bright laughter echoed as she replied, "I was casting spells just like in Sleeping Beauty!"
"Bye bye, Big Sister~ I’m going home!"
With these words, she waved her tiny hand vigorously at Yu Ting and left. Her fair face glistened even more vibrantly under the evening twilight.
Yu Ting watched her for a moment, saw her hopping and jumping away and rushing into the arms of a middle-aged woman. A soft light shone on them both.
Looking at them, Yu Ting straightened up.
What a delightful little girl.
Yu Ting remained silent, her thoughts wandering. Lu Nanchen, who had been standing beside her, took Yu Ting’s hand and glanced a few more times at her belly. His hand, which was lightly resting on Yu Ting’s waist, squeezed slightly. He leaned close to her ear and, with a much softer voice, spoke, "Let’s go, let’s take a look inside."
"Okay."
Yu Ting snapped out of her thoughts. Then, slowly, she matched her steps with Lu Nanchen’s.
After wandering for about twenty minutes, it was time to return. The couple walked past the lively crowd, heading towards home.
The twilight faded into the night.
"I’m suddenly looking forward to the arrival of this baby..." On their way home, Yu Ting suddenly remarked, her delicate hand stroking her belly.
"I am as well."

"Do you think you would reject me after the child is born? I read online that many people do change their minds."
"No."
Lu Nanchen answered faster than ever before.
"Others are others, I am me, and I would only love you more."
