"Daddy, what do you do for a living?"

A family of three was chatting by the window, a beautiful little girl sandwiched between her parents, leaning on the wooden railing, looking at her parents’ proud faces, the family was enjoying their happy moments while waiting for the once-in-a-century meteor shower.
"Haha, wonderful, like father, like daughter!" The middle-aged man burst into hearty laughter.
"Listen to mommy, Nian Nian, don’t learn from your father. He works too hard. A girl should secure a stable job like being a teacher. Take care of yourself is the best." The woman gave her husband a despondent glance and cajoled, looking gentle and virtuous.
Nonetheless, the little girl’s attention was captured by the meteor shower outside, her bright eyes fixed on the cluster of falling stars.
Her eyes widened as she saw the meteorite heading toward her.
"Mummy... That star is so big and bright, it’s dazzling..."
"Nian Nian, dodge quickly!" The woman shouted.
Whoosh.
Bang!
There was a bright light enveloped the little girl as if it was embracing her, the surrounding area filled with brilliant light.
"Mummy, I feel so warm and comfortable, what’s this bright thing?"
"Mommy?"
"Why isn’t mommy responding? Mommy? Daddy?"
The girl didn’t know how long it took for the light to fade or how many times she called out without a response.
When the light finally faded, she was greeted by the mutilated bodies of her parents, cold to the touch. Their eyes were closed and they were clutching her tightly, perfectly unharmed in their arms while the lower halves of their bodies had been severely damaged from the impact, a stench of decay was hanging in the air.
Familiar body parts littered the area.
"Daddy... Mommy..."

"Grandma Li!"

Ah...are they playing hide and seek? Why haven’t they informed Nian Nian?
Nian Nian admits her defeat, won’t you all come back?
"Waaaah." The girl cried in despair. The surrounding area was deserted, the once warm little house was destroyed by the meteorite, the neighbors had all disappeared, leaving her alone in the long, dark night.

Their eyes glowing red, beastly howls echoing everywhere.
