Chapter 41 Hidden Man of the Golden House

Chapter 41 Hidden Man of the Golden House

Su Wanwan made a quick decision and pushed the person upstairs.

"My parents are here. You need to hide for a bit and don't let them see you."

"??" Xie Yanning was completely confused.

Once upstairs, Su Wanwan thought for a moment, then led the person to her room, saying seriously, "Don't make a sound. You absolutely, absolutely cannot let them see you."

"No, I..." Xie Yanning was about to say that she wasn't so shameful, but when she looked down and could smell the alcohol, she gave up.

You should always make a good first impression.

Xie Yanning closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Okay."

Professor Xie, who was always calm and composed, never expected to encounter such an embarrassing situation one day. Even though they hadn't done anything, it was still hard to avoid being misunderstood.

"Is this what you call keeping a man hidden away in a golden house?" Xie Yanning said, trying to find humor in his predicament.

Su Wanwan glanced at him helplessly, "Don't joke around, it would be troublesome if you were really misunderstood."

Seriously, Xie Yanning's lack of boundaries isn't a new thing.

Another day of playing the role of a scheming, manipulative woman.

When Su Wanwan went downstairs, she was both startled and pleasantly surprised.

"Mom and Dad, what brings you here?" Su Wan hugged them tightly, feeling a pang of heartache. "Did you take a midnight flight here?"

Zhong Qian gently patted her daughter, "Don't think too much. We flew here on an international flight and just stopped by to see you."

“We’re here to discuss a business deal, and we also have a lot of things to do at the hospital,” Su Chengze said.

Su Wanwan withdrew her emotions and asked, "So how long do you plan to stay here?"

"Two or three days," Zhong Qian said, her eyes filled with concern as she saw that she was all packed. "Aren't you going to work? Then go to work first, don't worry about us."

Su Wanwan was indeed about to go to work at that time. She was about to say "hmm" when she thought of Xie Yanning upstairs, and her scalp tingled.

They've been discovered; in her parents' eyes, it's like keeping a secret man!

“Um, Mom and Dad,” she glanced at her watch, noting there was still time, and said with genuine emotion, “I really miss the breakfasts you used to make for me. Could you make them again?”

The kitchen is inside; avoiding it shouldn't be a problem.

Hearing their daughter's words, the elderly couple, who doted on her, were naturally outraged.

As Su Chengze walked toward the kitchen, he said with a hint of disdain, "Actually, you didn't have to come all this way. Otherwise, you could have just stayed at home."

"Mom, go help Dad. He might not know where things are." Su Wanwan pushed her parents into the kitchen as well. Zhong Qian had helped tidy up the kitchen before, so she knew how to arrange things better than Su Wanwan.

"I'll help you put your luggage away," Su Wanwan said obediently.

After everyone went inside, Su Wanwan rushed upstairs in a great hurry.

Pushing open the door, Xie Yanning was standing by the window, looking at something.

"Stop looking!" Su Wanwan grabbed him. "Let's go!"

Xie Yanning was being pushed around again, and if it weren't for this situation, he would have been quite happy to do so.

"Don't worry, you won't be found out."

Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, Su Wanwan told Xie Yanning to stand still and not move, "Let me take a look first."

Only after Su Wanwan confirmed that there was no risk did she signal Xie Yanning to take action.

"Okay," Xie Yanning said softly, feeling an unprecedented sense of frustration. When had he ever felt so humiliated?

Su Wanwan pulled Xie Yanning along, quickly crossed the living room, and arrived at the elevator smoothly.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, it pushed the person out.

Su Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief, finally managing to get the person out.

Looking down, I saw Xie Yanning's shoes from last night were in one of the shoe cabinets. I hadn't seen them before because the cabinet was closed.

Su Wanwan: "..."

Looking at the obviously men's shoes, Su Wanwan's scalp tingled again.

While she was hesitating, Zhong Qian came out and saw Su Wanwan standing there in a daze, so she walked over to her.

Upon seeing the shoes, I was taken aback. They were clearly men's shoes, and there were very obvious signs that they had been worn.

Yes, it's a double name tag.

"Why do you have men's shoes here?" Zhong Qian asked.

Su Wanwan was startled, but quickly came up with an explanation: "I bought it at the second-hand market a couple of days ago. I live alone, so it's good to have some masculine stuff to scare people."

Zhong Qian was skeptical.

She had inquired about the security here and found it to be very good. She had also installed a lot of anti-theft devices here, so there shouldn't be any problems.

However, being cautious is a good thing.

Then Zhong Qian thought of her best friend who had been talking about how her daughter had found a wonderful fiancé.

He graduated from a prestigious university, is tall and handsome, comes from a wealthy family with a listed company, and treats her daughter extremely well.

Zhong Qian's teeth ached just listening to that.

They also inquired about Su Wanwan's situation both openly and secretly.

They kept saying that girls shouldn't work so hard, and that it must be exhausting for one of them to be alone in another city.

The two families were of similar financial standing. Su Wanwan and Nannan were the same age and went to school together. Su Wanwan was superior in both appearance and education, which gave her a chance to prove herself.

Then Zhong Qian sighed.

It's not that she doesn't support Su Wanwan's career, but she's never had a boyfriend since she was a child.

That doesn't make sense.

“You may be busy with work, but you also need to take care of your marriage. Your Aunt Chen’s daughter is about to get engaged,” Zhong Qian said quietly.

Su Wanwan is not young anymore. Dating for two or three years, and then having a child as a couple in a few more years would be just right.

"Mom, don't worry, with my looks and qualifications, I'll get married in no time." Su Wanwan always listened to her words but then continued to do as she pleased.

"You always brush me off like this!" Zhong Qian complained. "No matter how good your conditions are, won't other good-looking guys get snatched up by others with better conditions?"

"Then I'll snatch it."

Zhong Qian glared at her: "You're not allowed to do anything reckless! Our family doesn't have anyone so improper!"

Two years ago, the daughter of the Li family was bewitched. She insisted on marrying a divorced man in his forties with a child, which angered her mother so much that she was hospitalized.

"Don't worry, I would never do such a thing." Su Wanwan had naturally heard about the Li family's affairs and, fearing that Zhong Qian might overthink things, quickly assured her.

Just then, Su Chengze finished preparing breakfast and brought it out.

"What are you chatting about? Come and eat!"

"Wow, it smells so good." Su Wanwan was very obliging and pulled Zhong Qian over. "Dad is really amazing."

Upon receiving his daughter's praise, Su Chengze smiled broadly. "That's right, I won over your mother with my cooking skills back then."

"You're so old, aren't you ashamed?" Zhong Fu scolded, then said to Su Wanwan, "It's getting late, hurry up and finish eating before you go to work."

Time is indeed a bit tight.

Su Wanwan finished eating quickly and left first, saying to them before leaving, "Then you guys take a break for a while, I'm going to work now."

When I went downstairs, I saw Xie Yanning, who had already washed and dressed. "I'll drive you to work."
