Chapter 56 Chapter 56

Chapter 56 Chapter 56

In May in Beijing, the sunshine is clear and bright.

Last night's rainstorm did not seem to leave any trace in this world. The accumulated water on the ground disappeared, as if everything no longer existed.

Early in the morning, Ren Li got up with two big dark circles under her eyes, hurried to the cafeteria to eat a few bites of breakfast, and squeezed into the subway to the company.

She arrived at the downstairs of the China World Hotel on time at 8 a.m.

Cheng Lulu had not arrived yet, so Ren Li stood on the steps at the door and waited for her for a while. Finally, ten minutes later, she saw her coming from the direction of the subway station.

"Good morning, Lulu." Ren Li smiled and greeted her.

Cheng Lulu had on exquisite makeup today, and her heels were a few centimeters higher than usual. The first thing she said when she saw Ren Li was, "Hey, why do you look so haggard today? You have such dark circles under your eyes."

"Really..." Ren Li subconsciously covered her face. "Maybe I was working on my graduation project a little late last night, so I had some insomnia."

She didn't suffer from insomnia because of her graduation thesis.

Last night, she returned to school and sat at her desk in the dormitory, staring at her graduation thesis on the computer in front of her. She didn't write a single word in two hours.

She tried to concentrate, but her brain seemed out of control and all she could think about was Wen Shuo.

Cheng Lulu said, "But you don't have to go to the company today. It's just that you always go without makeup, and it's really obvious."

Ren Li smiled and didn't continue the topic.

To be honest, she sometimes envied Cheng Lulu's mental state. She seemed to have unlimited energy every day. She often stayed up all night in the bar, and could still show up at work the next day with exquisite makeup and in high spirits.

The phone vibrated, and Ren Li took a look and saw that there was news in the StarWind work group.

"SW customers said they are coming downstairs, and President Ling asked us to quickly prepare to welcome them." Cheng Lulu said.

This sentence made Ren Li inexplicably nervous again.

Will she see Wen Shuo again?

She admitted that she lost her composure the moment she saw Wen Shuo last night. She thought about it the whole night and felt that work was work, and she could separate everything. She had to be professional and not bring her personal emotions into work.

"They are coming." Cheng Lulu stood up straight and reminded her in a low voice.

Ren Li came to her senses, but when the group walked out of the hotel, she found that Wen Shuo was not among them.

It's hard to say whether she should feel happy or disappointed. Cheng Lulu had already stepped forward and shook hands with Song Jin. "Hello, Mr. Song. I'm Cheng Lulu from Company C. Today, we will lead all the leaders to the venue."

Song Jin nodded to her and turned his gaze to Ren Li, "Ms. Ren, thank you for your help."

"Mr. Song, you're too polite. It's my duty."

Ren Li's tone was gentle throughout her speech. Song Jin didn't know what he was thinking about, so he smiled and continued, "Actually, there's no need to bother you. We originally arranged a special car to go to the venue. If you don't mind, you and your colleagues can take our car."

It was the first time that Ren Li had encountered such a nice customer. Rather than being nice, it was more like being respectful.

But she was just an intern, and she was flattered. "No need for that, Kerry Center isn't far away, we can just walk there."

"Mr. Song, if you don't mind, please take us there." Cheng Lulu winked at Ren Li.

Ren Li looked at her for two seconds, and finally got into the black Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle parked on the side of the road silently.

She understood Cheng Lulu's expression very well. After all, it was not easy to directly refuse the customer's kindness. Moreover, they needed to follow the customer throughout the process in order to complete their task smoothly.

Fortunately, Kerry Center is not far away, just turn the next intersection and you will arrive.

Ren Li and Cheng Lulu sat in the back seat of the car, looking around silently.

The space here is spacious, the air conditioning temperature is just right, and everything is overly comfortable.

She silently glanced at Song Jin who was sitting in the front row. If possible, she hoped that Song Jin would not know that she and Wen Shuo knew each other.

The car drove to the intersection ahead and happened to catch the traffic light turning from green to red. The driver stepped on the brakes and the car stopped in front of the zebra crossing.

Time passed by second by second. Song Jin in the front row suddenly turned around and asked, "Ms. Ren, you are not from Beijing, are you?"

Ren Li was thinking about something when she heard someone asking her a question. She was still confused and said, "Eh, what?"

Song Jin smiled encouragingly and added, "You are from the north, right?"

She nodded, "Yes, from the north."

Song Jin said, "Come to think of it, our President Wen also grew up in the north."

He seemed to be saying something intentionally or unintentionally, and Ren Li's heart suddenly palpitated. Fortunately, the traffic light at the intersection ahead finally turned green, and the car moved forward again, and the topic was finally not continued.

A few minutes later, we arrived at Kerry Center.

Ren Li and Cheng Lulu got out of the car and successfully led SW Company's clients into the venue. Her mission finally came to an end.

The strategy meeting started on time at 9:00 a.m. There were many people in the conference room, and almost all the seats were occupied.

The first day's meeting was about macro and total volume related meetings, and the second day was the industry sub-forum. During this period, Ren Li needed to stay at the venue throughout.

After the show started, she finally found an empty seat in the corner of the back row. She put the white canvas on her shoulder on the ground, took out her laptop from it, connected to the Wi-Fi, and started working.

Today's work tasks will not be reduced just because you need to be at the meeting venue.

She still had two reports and a data set to complete. This was something that all interns at financial companies would do, and it was also the only way to become a financial analyst. Ren Li understood that she must have the ability to work anytime and anywhere in any situation.

The guests at the speaker booth changed several times, and in the blink of an eye, it was the last session of the morning.

Ren Li was so immersed in her work that she didn't even notice it was already noon. After packaging a report and sending it to her mentor for review, she stretched herself and finally had time to check the personal messages in her private WeChat.

What surprised her was that among the many messages, there was one from Lu Rendong.

Lu Rendong: [I'm here to do some work near the China World Trade Center today. Are you free at noon? Let's have lunch together.]

She was really busy today, her lunch break was very short, and she had to stay at the venue in the afternoon, so she refused:

Ren Li: [Sorry, I have something to do today, so I won’t have dinner with you]

On the other side, Lu Rendong was holding his mobile phone and suddenly laughed when he saw Ren Li's reply.

"Forget it, it seems I'll have to welcome you today. My girlfriend has something to do and can't come to see you."

At the desk across from him, Wen Shuo was holding a tablet. He had just finished processing a document and was now looking at the signing terms of a contract. Without even looking up, he said, "Girlfriend?"

Lu Rendong sighed: "Yes, my girlfriend is so beautiful, it's a pity that you don't have this blessing."
