In the room, Xu Anran woke up with a start, picked up her phone, and checked the time: 2 a.m.
This time she dreamed of chaos in the shelter. In the dream, the shelter lost power, and many people turned into monsters, many of whom were armed personnel from the shelter.
The monsters closed the gates and guarded them, trapping people in the shelters and slaughtering them at will.
In the chaos, Xu Anran and the others escaped into the sewers and hid, thus avoiding the first massacre. Later, the monster kept those who had not been killed as captives.
Xu Anran and her companions walked through the sewers, searching for a way out. Because they were unfamiliar with the terrain, they had to lift the manhole covers every now and then to see where they were. When they were almost out, they encouraged each other. I remember the time in the dream was when I was going to work today, which is four hours from now.
Xu Anran quietly slipped out first. Everyone in the shelter was asleep in their dormitories. The entire shelter was very quiet. She walked along the wall, not daring to turn on her flashlight. Based on her memory, she walked to the vicinity of the gate, where there were guards. In her dream, these people had turned into monsters.
Xu Anran went to the RV again, put all the useful items into her spatial storage, took out a large backpack, packed a tent, a small gas stove, an inflatable mattress, blankets, and other items, and put them back into her spatial storage before leaving. Before leaving, she looked at the RV reluctantly, thinking that she wouldn't be able to be as comfortable on the road as she was with the RV before.

After getting ready, Xu Anran led them carefully out of the door.
They went downstairs, and Xu Anran led them towards the sewers from their dream. The three of them followed without asking any questions. In the darkness, they walked slowly and carefully, making no sound. While they were completely focused on walking, they didn't notice someone sneaking behind them.
Upon reaching the manhole cover, Xu Anran stopped the three men, took out night-vision binoculars to survey the surroundings, and, seeing no one, told them that the monster was guarding the gate and they couldn't drive away; they had to go through the sewers. She would open the manhole cover herself, while the others surrounded her and carefully observed four possible scenarios.
The three nodded to indicate they understood. They walked to the manhole cover, and Xu Anran squatted down, using a tool to lift it. At this moment, Li Xue, who was holding night-vision binoculars, said she saw someone running towards them from a building. The person was a slightly chubby boy who raised his hands as he ran to indicate he was harmless. When he got closer and saw them pointing weapons at him, fearing that if he didn't speak up sooner, the four of them would attack him, he quickly said, "I'm a passenger, I mean no harm. Take me with you, I have a use for you." Seeing that the four didn't speak, the chubby boy said anxiously, "Really, I'm a regular passenger, I can tell you a lot of information."
Seeing that time was of the essence, Xu Anran could only go down first and then decide what to do. She had Li Xue and Grandpa Li hold weapons and watch over the little fat boy, then led him into the sewer, followed by Liu Yue, with Xu Anran bringing up the rear.
Just as Liu Yue went down into the well, Xu Anran heard someone say, "What are you doing?" Without thinking, Xu Anran shouted to Liu Yue, "Wait for me down there, don't run around." After saying that, she closed the well cover. Turning around, Xu Anran saw two people running towards her. She put her knife into her spatial storage. As the two approached, she recognized one of them as the monster she had seen in her dream, while she didn't recognize the other. At this moment, it was better to kill the innocent than let the guilty go free.
It's unclear how much they saw, but Xu Anran and the others approached, pretending to be terrified. Suddenly, she took out an electric baton from her spatial storage and shocked the monster that was closer. Then, a black blade flashed and slashed down the person who was further away. With a crack, the person's head was severed from their body, black blood spurting from their neck, and a momentary look of terror still lingered on their face.
Without pausing, she used her knife to cleave the electrocuted monster's head in two. The entire battle took only a few minutes. To avoid being discovered and attracting attention, she quickly collected the monster's corpse, put her weapon back in her backpack, and climbed down into the well.
After going downstairs, Xu Anran saw everyone's tense expressions and nodded to indicate that everything was alright.
Li Xue asked, "Are you hurt?" "I'm fine. We're pressed for time, let's go first, we'll talk about the rest when we get back." After saying that, she pressed the chubby boy against the wall. The chubby boy cried out in terror, "Big sister, don't kill me."
"Shut up, I won't kill you, but if you make another sound, I'll chop you up." Seeing Xu Anran like this, Liu Yue's eyes lit up. He walked to Xu Anran's side and helped tie up the little fat boy's hands.
Xu Anran turned on her flashlight and led the way with the chubby boy, the other three following behind. After winding their way through the maze, they arrived at the manhole cover she had seen in her dream. Recalling what she had seen in her dream, she knew that if they walked north for a while longer, they would be able to get out. She quickened her pace and walked for another 10 minutes. Xu Anran asked Grandpa Li and Li Xue to watch the chubby boy while she lifted the manhole cover to check the situation and make sure there was no danger.
Surrounded by schools and residential areas, they moved the manhole cover to create a small opening so Li Xue could use binoculars to observe the surroundings and find a suitable place to stand so she could run there immediately when they got out. Grandpa Li and Liu Yue watched the chubby boy, while Xu Anran texted Xu Weiqin, with whom she had agreed to exchange information, telling her that the shelter was controlled by monsters and they couldn't get out, as well as the escape route through the sewers.
