Chapter 114 Another Little Black Hat

Chapter 114 Another Little Black Hat

"If she's not Little Black Hat, then who is she?" Yu Jin asked, frowning.

"It should be the instigator who invaded the town, and the person we need to find," Xu Yi said.

Yu Jin frowned. He couldn't investigate the person impersonating Little Black Hat. He had his own mission to complete and had to play the role of the Dark Prince to rescue Hei Xue.

The little dwarfs over there accidentally knocked the crystal coffin that Black Snow was lying on to the ground, and the lid slid off.

Now it's Yu Jin's turn to enter the stage.

When Yu Jin rode his black horse and looked at the black snow inside, his expression changed.

Kuroyuki's entire skin was a dark purple color.

The gothic makeup on her face wasn't as noticeable anymore, and her palms were bluish-black. Although we knew she had eaten the poisoned apple, based on the original evidence, this shouldn't be the case.

Kuroyuki's current state doesn't resemble that of someone in a deep sleep; it looks like she has died from poisoning.

When Yu Jin passed by, the dwarfs did not stop him; instead, they made way for him.

He reached out to check, and indeed, Hei Xue had stopped breathing.

Xu Yi didn't get too close, since there was no scene with the little black hat here.

But looking at Yu Jin's expression, she knew something was wrong.

I walked over quickly and saw the state of the black snow.

But now it seems like Kuroyuki is really dead.

Yu Jin said to Hei Xue inside the crystal coffin, "I'm sorry."

Then he reached out and grabbed Hei Xue's hand. Just then, the bruises on Hei Xue's body disappeared, and she slowly woke up.

Her eyes were still somewhat confused. She glanced at Yu Jin, then at Xu Yi.

He immediately said, "Hello, Little Black Hat."

Xu Yi nodded in response, "Hello, Hei Xue."

Black Snow sat up, still somewhat bewildered, then slowly recalled that her rules told her not to eat the apples given by the witch, but she could eat the mushrooms given by the witch.

She ate the mushrooms, and then she lost consciousness.

"Did you hear yesterday's broadcast?" Xu Yi asked.

"I heard you."

"Two people died at the same time yesterday. One was the prince who was trying to rescue the black-haired girl. Who was the other one?"

Hei Xue shook her head. She hadn't heard any announcements; she must have lost consciousness after eating the mushrooms. "I don't know."

“But the story shouldn’t be like this.” Yu Jin felt something was off. Shouldn’t Hei Xue want to eat an apple?

Why are the rules making her eat mushrooms?

Suddenly, a piercing laugh rang in their ears. When they turned around, the people carrying the crystal coffin suddenly changed their appearance, and tentacles behind them appeared and disappeared.

Then they pounced on Yu Jin, but Xu Yi pulled Yu Jin away. The group of strange creatures did not change direction and rushed directly towards Hei Xue.

A group of monsters grabbed Hei Xue's wrists, seemingly trying to tear her body apart, and Hei Xue struggled.

Yu Jin drew the sword hanging at his waist and stabbed at the group of strange creatures.

Unexpectedly, several of them changed direction and charged towards them.

"Oh no, run!" Yu Jin pushed Xu Yi aside, and seeing the ghost rushing towards him, he tripped over the weeds and fell to the ground as he retreated.

He raised his hand to shield himself, but the expected pain did not come. As he lowered his arm, he saw Xu Yi stabbing one of the monsters with a dagger.

Perhaps knowing they were no match for Xu Yi, the remaining few monsters immediately fled.

Xu Yi rushed to Hei Xue's side and rescued her from the ghost's clutches.

"Strange, my item seems to have stopped working." When Hei Xue reached up to touch her neck, she saw a small shield hanging around her neck, a protective shield she had received as a reward from her previous dungeon quest.

When encountering something strange, it suddenly becomes completely useless.

Only after confirming that the strange creatures had truly left did Xu Yi release Hei Xue.

Yu Jin and Hei Xue stayed behind for the time being, while Xu Yi carried the basket and continued towards her grandmother's place. She wanted to see more to see which other mission participants had died.

She walked forward; that was the Black Girl's house.

When Xu Yi arrived, the prince she had met at the ball the day before was riding away on horseback with the black girl's sister.

My sister's foot is bleeding.

As he passed by Xu Yi, the prince suddenly stopped. "Hello, little black hat."

"Hello." As Xu Yi spoke, her gaze fell on her sister's bleeding foot.

The prince followed Xu Yi's gaze and saw his sister's bleeding foot. He frowned and took her back.

Not long after, she came out with the other sister of the black girl.

As he passed by Xu Yi, he stopped again to greet him.

When I turned around this time, I saw the bleeding foot again.

For some reason, after the prince returned this time, he did not come out with the black girl for a long time.

Xu Yi ran inside, only to bump right into Gao Lin who was running out.

"What are you doing here?" Xu Yi asked, puzzled.

Shouldn't the black girl be taken away by the prince?

"I want to marry a prince." Gao Lin said anxiously, shaking her head frantically at Xu Yi.

Rule Two: Lying is not allowed in Fairy Tale Town. However, when it comes to mission objectives, you cannot tell the whole truth.

Although the fairytale town has a rule that no one can lie, you can't tell the truth about things related to your goal.

However, there is no rule against expressing it through actions.

In other words, Gao Lin's goal is not to marry a prince.

So Gao Lin avoided the prince and escaped.

She hid herself, and the prince, unable to find her, became furious and left.

But unexpectedly, after the prince left, the black girl's father seemed to go mad, banging on her bedroom door desperately. Fortunately, Gao Lin had already changed to another place to hide.

She saw her father's distorted and eerie face, and her stepmother and two older sisters standing there holding candles, their mouths agape, reaching all the way to their ears.

As the father broke down the door, they walked into the house, muttering as they went, "Blackie, where are you? Stop hiding, come out quickly, I see you."

Gao Lin was terrified. She covered her mouth and ran outside, where she bumped into Xu Yi.

Xu Yi glanced at the ghost that was about to come out, then grabbed Gao Lin and ran outside, only stopping after running for a while.

Exhausted, Gao Lin leaned against a tree. "That scared me to death."

If the prince sees her, he will surely let her try on the shoe, and then he will take her away just like in the story.

Then she's really doomed.

After she calmed down, Xu Yi asked, "Did you see Little Black Hat today?"

"Aren't you Little Black Hat?" Gao Lin looked at her suspiciously, sizing her up and down. "You're right here, aren't you?"

As she spoke, Gao Lin stood up, looking at Xu Yi with a wary expression. "You, you, you...aren't you Little Black Hat?"

"Of course I'm Little Black Hat. I mean, have you seen Little Black Hat without showing his face?"

Gao Lin scratched her head and then said, "Yes, there was one. Before the prince came, I saw you hurriedly leaving with a basket. I greeted you, and after you replied with a hello, you left. I thought you had something urgent to do."

"Wasn't that you?" Gao Lin belatedly realized.

Xu Yi nodded. "Yes, there are people impersonating Little Black Hat in this town now. Or you could say there are people impersonating me."

"What do we do now?" Gao Lin was at a loss for what to do.

If someone is impersonating Little Black Hat, it means that the monster they are looking for has appeared.

It left in such a hurry that Gao Lin didn't even get a good look at what the person impersonating the little black hat looked like.

"Your hat." When she looked up, Gao Lin noticed that a large part of Xu Yi's hood had turned red.

Xu Yi didn't take the hood off. She tugged at it for a moment, then pulled it tighter so she could take the red hat off.

It turns out her hat really was red.

Listening to everyone's descriptions, Xu Yi was even more confused about what the other party wanted to do.

"That imposter in the black hat seemed to have walked the same path you've walked," Gao Lin muttered.

Xu Yi also noticed this, but she couldn't understand why the other party was doing this.

She planned to go back and take another look. Before leaving, she told Gao Lin about the roles of the several mission members who had been confirmed dead, saying, "You must be careful."

Gao Lin nodded. "Don't worry, I will."

Xu Yi left with the basket. When she passed by Sleeping Prince's castle, it should have been the day that Sleeping Prince and the princess who saved him got married, but the castle was very quiet, as if there was no one there.

This feeling is very uncomfortable.

The castle exuded a sense of deathly stillness.

It was so quiet. Xu Yi seemed to see the thorns growing back, and large patches of roses blooming on the city wall in an instant.

Several red-eyed crows circled overhead, cawing.

There's a feeling that a storm is brewing.

Could it be that something happened to the Sleeping Prince and Princess?

Otherwise, the castle wouldn't be so quiet.

Just then, the roses had spread to the castle gate, and someone parted the roses and walked out.

"Princess?" Xu Yi was somewhat surprised to see who had arrived.

The princess, dressed as a prince, nodded to Xu Yi and then parted the thorns that were approaching her.

When the princess pushed through the thorns and came over, she stood face to face with Xu Yi. "Hello, little black hat."

"Hello, Princess."

The princess looked back and saw that roses and thorns had once again covered the entire castle. A red-eyed raven brought a rose and threw it down.

"Little Black Hat, Sleeping Prince is dead. He broke the rules."

Xu Yi nodded. It seemed that the one who died along with the Mediterranean Prince was the Sleeping Prince.

She then looked at the princess and asked, "Have you completed your mission?"

"It's done."

"Princess, did you see any other little black hats before me?"

The princess turned around and looked over, and after a while she said, "Yes, I saw her in the castle, but her hat was different from yours; hers was a black hat. It was too far away for me to see her clearly."

Xu Yi then noticed that her hood seemed to have turned completely red.

The princess looked no further at the castle, and the Sleeping Prince died, seemingly falling into a new slumber in the eyes of the thorns and roses.

"Little Black Hat, we have one last task."

"Yes, that little black hat seems to be imitating me, so I plan to keep going and take a look."

"Then go ahead. If anything happens, please let me know immediately."

Xu Yi nodded and continued walking forward, where she saw the little girl squatting in the corner.

She huddled there, head down, so quiet it was as if she had stopped breathing.

She even moved slightly when Xu Yi approached.

The person is not dead yet.

Xu Yi didn't look at her again and continued walking forward.

She stood by the pond for a while but didn't see any black frogs.

Xu Yi took the initiative to speak, "Hello, Black Frog."

She called out several times, but there was no response.

It seems that both the black frog and the princess are dead.

Just as Xu Yi was about to leave and continue walking forward, she suddenly remembered something, turned around, and ran back quickly.

The little girl who was just squatting in the corner is gone.

She suddenly realized that the little girl's clothes and the basket next to her looked somewhat like her.

When I saw the little match girl before, her headscarf was patched, but today her headscarf was intact and even folded.

If you put it down, it looks like a hat.

If you don't look closely, you'll find that she's very similar to you, especially in the way she carries a basket.

Xu Yi looked around but couldn't find the little girl.

She touched the red hat she was wearing and thought of the rules that belonged to Little Black Hat.

Rule 5: When you are out and about, no matter what happens, do not take off your red hat.

Once Little Black Hat takes off her hat, she is no longer Little Black Hat.

She quickly ran over to the black girl, found Gao Lin, and asked directly, "Do you remember who the author of the fairy tale is?"

“Some famous fairy tales will remember us. Even though the names have changed, the characters we played are still very famous. You can tell who they are just by looking at their appearance.”

"You told me before that the characters you and I play are from the same story?"

"Yes, I do know about it in the story."

"What about the little match girl? Is she also in this story?" Xu Yi had a vague idea, but since it was a story she had read when she was a child, she was still a little unsure.

Gao Lin frowned. "I remember this character isn't from the same story as the one we played. Strange, is there a Little Match Girl here?"

“The little girl in the black hat you saw earlier, that’s her. No, she’s not the real little match girl, she must be the monster that invaded this town,” Xu Yi said.

Speaking of this, Xu Yi also remembered that she had seen colors on the little girl's body before, which meant that she was very likely possessed by a ghost.

Rule 3: In this mission, there is one person who is neither a native of Fairy Tale Town nor a participant in this mission. Please find this person.

Xiang Bei was even more excited than them. She had noticed when she watched it before that the character's fairy tale origin system was different from that of the characters played by Xu Yi and the others.

In this fairytale town, characters from other fairytales appear, which is odd in itself.

So the wicked one hid in the little match girl and tried to replace Little Red Riding Hood.

Gao Lin asked, "Then where did the little match girl go?"

"She's gone. Have you achieved your goal?"

Gao Lin nodded vigorously. "It's done. I can leave now. Let's find the other surviving mission participants and tell them about this."

With the complete objective, the mission taker can be free to leave their territory and go find the mystery mentioned in the rules.

"Let's go and call Lu Ziyang and Yu Jin to join us in the search," Gao Lin said.

They went to the black-haired girl's attic to find Lu Ziyang. After hearing their words, Lu Ziyang finally didn't have to use a high-pitched voice anymore, "You've finally come."

She used her braid to jump down from the attic, then picked up the dagger she had borrowed from Xu Yi and cut off her long braid.

Yu Jin is still with Hei Xue, but it's unclear whether they've achieved their objective.

Upon hearing that the mastermind behind it all had been found, the two nodded in agreement.

They also stated that they did not see the little girl in the forest.

The rules only state that participants cannot reveal their goals, but they do not say that others cannot guess their goals, and can even express them through body language.

Yu Jin's goal is to "kill the dwarfs".

The dwarves turned into monsters and tried to attack him, but he killed one of them with his sword. The rest were dealt with by Xu Yi, so he accomplished his goal.

They didn't know where the little girl whose identity had been exposed was hiding, but the house of the little black hat was the one that led to the grandmother's house, a place where all the characters in the town could pass through.

Xu Yi has found the princess who will save the sleeping prince.

Fearing a sudden appearance of a culprit behind the scenes, the six of them did not split up.

However, after searching around, they couldn't find the little girl.

As darkness fell, the other residents of the town disappeared without a trace.

In the entire town, only six of them remained.

As darkness fell, a red moon appeared in the sky. A gust of wind blew by, and they saw many people inside the houses.

In the blink of an eye, it turned into a menacing monster.

Those monsters were perched on the windowsill, baring their fangs as they looked at them.

After searching around, they returned to the spot where the little girl had been and finally found her.

Her current attire is almost identical to that of the little black hat, and she is also wearing a cape with a red hood.

“It’s her, I saw her this morning, it must be her,” Gao Lin said, pointing to the little girl.

"Now you know." The little girl looked up at them.

Her eyes were red, and when she smiled, long fangs appeared in her mouth.

Behind her was a gigantic monster, controlling the little girl's body.

From the very beginning, Xu Yi fell into a misconception. Although many stories are very famous and everyone knows the same characters, because they were watched when they were young, they might get confused about the origins of the stories.

She only knew that the little girl was a character in a fairy tale, and it was because of what Gao Lin said that she remembered it.

The little girl looked up at the six of them, and under the brim of her hat was a face that was distorted and looked very strange.

The ghost behind them spoke to the air, "Come out, my darlings."

A cat suddenly appeared out of nowhere, its fur standing on end, baring its sharp teeth at them.

If it weren't for the protective shield on Kuroyuki's body, her neck would have been scratched by the black cat's claws.

There was also a pack of wolves with three eyes that appeared out of nowhere.

The little girl looked at them, and the monster behind her opened its blood-red maw and laughed, "What a pity. I had already planned your ending. If you had obediently followed it, at least you wouldn't have had to die so painfully."

“Little Black Hat, you were destined to be eaten by the Big Bad Wolf. There was no hunter to save you.”

A pair of shoes hopped over by themselves.

"Black girl, put on your shoes and spin around until you become the most beautiful crystal sculpture in this town, adding another captivating statue to this fairytale town."

The little girl was being manipulated by the demon and flew towards the control center. She smiled at Yu Jin, Lu Ziyang, and the two princesses, "And you all deserve to die. Where do all these fairy tales come from? Enjoy the ending I've arranged for you. You, all of you, go to hell."

Xu Yi suddenly found herself holding a hunting rifle, which Xiang Bei had just thrown to her.

She killed the leader of the three-eyed wolf kings with a single shot.

Xu Yi looked at the ghost behind the little girl and said, "Bullshit! Who said Little Black Hat needs a hunter to save her? She can become a hunter herself."

Gao Lin took a stone from the roadside and smashed the dancing shoes to pieces, then looked up at the ghost behind the little girl and said, "I don't necessarily have to wear these shoes. Look, this way I don't have to wear them."

Lu Ziyang took a scissor and snipped off his rapidly growing hair. "I'm sorry, I really don't like long hair. Although it's beautiful, washing it is too much trouble."

Black Snow had a protective shield, so the black cat couldn't touch her at all.

The princess had a bow and arrow. She drew her bow and shot an arrow, and the strange creature that was hit by her arrow could no longer get close.

Everyone looked at Yu Jin, who calmly took out the rewards he had obtained from the previous dungeon.

"The rose cross can protect against strange harm, but unfortunately it can't be used again after this one."

Everyone stared at him in surprise. Could someone really do that?

"Enough!"

Repeated failures had caused the monster to lose patience.

Her figure changed, and many snakes, insects, and rats ran out all around, and the town was filled with the smell of blood.

Xu Yi aimed at the strange head behind the little girl and fired a shot.

The ghost was completely unharmed.

Xu Yi fired several shots, but failed to harm it.

"Hahahaha, you can't kill me."

Just then, the little girl who had been restrained suddenly began to struggle. She looked pained and murmured, "Matches, my matches."

"Light her match, quick!" Yu Jin shouted.

"Yes, where are the little girl's matches? Where did her matches go?" Gao Lin quickly asked.

Lu Ziyang rushed over and grabbed the black box that had fallen to the ground; it had fallen out of the little girl's basket.

"I can't open it, I can't open this matchbox."

Black Snow rushed over to help, and the princess nocked an arrow and shot it at the monster.

The little girl struggled even more fiercely, crying out, "Matches! Where are my matches? Where are my matches?"

"Shut up! Shut up now!" Gui roared angrily.

The little girl suddenly opened her eyes and shouted, "Give me back my matches!"

One of the black boxes reverted to its original matchbox shape.

"The matches are here!" Lu Ziyang shouted, holding up the matches.

"You're asking for death!" Gui reached out and grabbed Lu Ziyang from a distance.

"Here you go." Lu Ziyang tossed the match to Gao Lin.

Guai's other hand then grabbed Gao Lin's neck.

Before the matches were snatched away, Gao Lin threw them forcefully to Hei Xue, who was standing next to her.

Many hands split off from behind the ghost and reached out to grab Black Snow.

Black Snow quickly pulled out a match.

A match was lit, and the eerie movements slowed down, the little girl's clothes returning to their original state.

After being caught, Hei Xue threw the match to Yu Jin.

Xu Yi fired his gun, while the princess on the other side also fired an arrow, blocking the outstretched hand of the ghost.

Yu Jin pulled out a match and lit it.

The eerie form began to shatter.

"Hurry up, we're almost there," Xu Yi said.

Just as he was about to pull out the third match, the ghost's hand suddenly slapped him on the back, causing him to fall to the ground, and the match flew out of his hand.

Yu Jin coughed up a mouthful of blood.

The creature roared furiously, "I'm going to kill you all! I'm going to kill you despicable humans!"

The earth began to tremble, and a crack appeared where the match had fallen. The princess, who was closest to the match, ran over quickly with her bow and arrow, and before the match could fall into the crack, she grabbed it and threw it at Xu Yi.

He himself fell into the crevice, and Yu Jin quickly rushed over and grabbed the princess's clothes.

The earth was still trembling when Yu Jin coughed up another mouthful of blood.

Xu Yi threw the gun away, grabbed the matchbox, took out the last match, and quickly lit it.

The little girl opened her eyes and cried out, "Give me back my body."

A golden light flashed in mid-air, and an elf appeared, missing half of her wings. She still had scars on her cheeks, but she resolutely waved her magic wand and repelled the monster.

The eerie control over the little girl vanished in an instant.

The elves used their magic, and golden snow fell on the town.

The strange things in the town that touched Jin Xue disappeared completely, and the town returned to its original state.
