Chapter 68 It's noisy outside, dawn is approaching...
After setting up the surrounding defenses, when Lei Tao and the others took out food to eat, they clearly intended not to give any to Sheng Hui.

"Are you looking for me?" Sheng Hui stood in the corridor, holding a lit candle in her hand.
Her sudden appearance startled them. "What are you doing here?"
"Why wouldn't I be here?" Sheng Hui looked at them and smiled.
The happier she laughed, the tighter the dodder vines clung to these people, absorbing their supernatural abilities in the process.
With her newfound abilities, Sisi became much more energetic.
Discovering that Sisi could absorb supernatural energy was a pleasant surprise.
One of the wood-type abilities, in particular, seems to be something Sisi really likes.
Sheng Hui bent down to look at them, and tugged at the delicate leaves. "It seems it likes you very much."
The group then realized that Sheng Hui was behind all of this, and that she was not as simple as she seemed.
But as soon as they saw themselves fall into her hands, some people immediately begged for mercy.
"Sister, you are my own sister. We were wrong, we really know we were wrong, but Lei Tao is the mastermind. He is the one who found a way to get you out of the base."
"Really? He's the mastermind, but are you really innocent?"
The candlelight shone on Sheng Hui's face, making it appear flickering and somewhat like a vengeful ghost.

Just as Dahei ran out, there was a loud bang, and an explosion emanated from Lei Tao and the others, blasting the zombies closest to them into pieces.
"Someone has self-destructed," the team leader said.
But now is not the time to discuss this; all the superhumans jumped down to fight the still-living zombies.
Sheng Hui also directed Da Hei to help, and if someone was injured, Sheng Hui would help carry them to the car.
Many superhumans arrived, so the zombies were quickly dealt with.
The cores of those zombies had been dug out, and Lei Tao and the others' bodies had long since been torn to pieces and mixed with the zombie bodies.
They could only pick up some body parts that were easy to take back, and they didn't even know if they belonged to them. If Lei Tao hadn't been the deputy leader's brother-in-law, they could have skipped the whole body-picking step.

But things weren't so peaceful. Lei Tao's sister, Lei Li, couldn't bear to see Sheng Hui alive. She felt that Sheng Hui's failure to call for help in time forced her brother to self-destruct and perish with the zombies, so she wanted Sheng Hui to be buried with her brother.
In the end, it was the deputy leader who brought her back. So many people witnessed what happened. Her unreasonable behavior will only cause other ability users to have objections.
Others might not know, but the deputy leader did. His brother-in-law wasn't out on a mission; he had other plans. This time, he was just unlucky and fell into the hands of zombies.
To express his apology, the deputy leader sent Sheng Hui some crystal cores. If she hadn't risked her life to come back and deliver the message, they might not have even been able to retrieve Lei Tao's body.
