Feel everything
The control center crumbled in the data storm, revealing the endless void beneath. The system's true form was like a cold star, woven from billions of rushing streams of time, each ray of light a life firmly under its control.
"The cage of order must be broken." The Lord of Time spread his arms, his flowing armor reflecting the myriad worlds. He looked at the gap in the clouds, his eyes filled with the determination to entrust billions of lives to him. "I will restrain it. The rest is up to you, to... Time itself."
Yunxi felt the power of the two keys completely merge within her body, flowing like the first rays of dawn at the beginning of the universe. She was no longer a "vessel," she was the key itself. Time and the young man stood on either side, their divine power resonating, constructing the final barrier for her.
"Wishful thinking!" The system's voice was a chorus of billions of alarms, chilling to the bone. Countless data chains, like a thunderbolt, bombarded the Lord of Time. The Lord of Time neither dodged nor evaded, his body radiating a gentle yet irresistible light. That light was not destruction, but "restoration"—disintegrating the rules imposed by the system inch by inch, restoring the distorted flow of time to its original form.
In the void, countless scenes unfold. Some timelines, like ice thawing, flow anew; others, amidst violent tremors, vanish into nothingness—wounds forcibly stitched together by the system, destined to never heal. This is a war without gunpowder, yet one that concerns all existence.
In the chaos, Officer Zhou attempted to ambush Yunxi, but was firmly stopped by the young Shixu.
"Don't you understand?" Young Shi Xu's eyes burned with conviction. "We're not fighting for power, we're fighting for every 'possible' right!"
Two divine powers of the same origin but at different points in time clashed violently. Although the young Shi Xu was less experienced, his reckless spirit made it difficult for him to gain the upper hand against Officer Zhou.
"Cloud Gap!" came the voice of Time, as he did his utmost to maintain the barrier. "Now!"
Yunxi closed her eyes, immersing her entire will in the vast power of time. She no longer tried to "control" it, but to "feel" it. She felt the warmth of her parents, the laughter of her friends, and the hopes and anxieties, joys and sorrows of every life across countless timelines. These genuine emotions, these uncertain "possibilities," are time's most precious gifts.
The system's data deluge began to descend into chaos under the dissolution of the Lord of Time and the resonance of the cloud gaps. Its absolutely rational structure was infused with an incomprehensible "chaos"—the free will of life.
"Error! Error! The logic core has been subjected to an unknown impact!" The system's voice cracked for the first time.
The massive data collection began to disintegrate from within, its light flickering rapidly like a dying star. It could not comprehend why this seemingly inefficient and chaotic set of choices could unleash such power to destroy the perfect order it had meticulously constructed.
“Because you don’t understand love, you don’t understand hope, you don’t even understand regret…” Yunxi said softly, opening her eyes. Her pupils seemed to hold the rise and fall of stars. “You don’t understand what life is.”
She held out her hands in a gesture of respect, and the light formed by the fusion of the two keys transformed into a gentle pulse, silently spreading across countless timelines. Wherever it passed, the shackles of the system vanished, and time returned to its own hands.
After emitting an intense burst of light, the core of the system was completely annihilated and returned to nothingness.
Officer Zhou watched all this, utterly disoriented, held captive by the passage of time, powerless to resist.
The void began to calm. The figure of the Lord of Time became somewhat transparent, and he smiled as he looked at the three people in the clouds, his eyes filled with relief and satisfaction.
"The future belongs to you." His voice gradually faded into the distance, and his figure transformed into starlight, merging into the river of time that had regained its freedom, becoming the eternal backdrop that guarded it.
The control center no longer exists; they float at the beginning and the end of time. Before them lies an endless sea of time, shimmering with infinite possibilities, each wave representing a freely developing future.
"We succeeded." The young Shi Xu breathed a sigh of relief.
“No,” Shi Xu looked at the gap in the clouds beside him, then gazed at the boundless sea of stars, “we have only won the opportunity for all life to choose its own path. Everything is just beginning.”
Yunxi didn't speak. She reached out and gently touched a cheerful, flowing timeline, feeling the vibrant life force within it, and a relieved smile appeared on her face.
A new chronicle, now written by the hands of all living beings.
