Chapter 003 | 0003 Lying at Someone's Doorstep Asking for Scissors

"Really? Let's try a different color next time."

Pei Wenbo wouldn't hold a grudge against his sick sister. He simply closed the black velvet box, his attitude gentle. He tried to touch his sister's hair, but she dodged him.

Wu Xian felt that he treated his secretary and entertainment reporters the same way. His flawless smile made people feel unapproachable. He probably felt awkward because his eccentric sister accepted the gift.

However, Wu Qian didn't care what he thought. She was still trapped in her filthy fantasies about a man she had only met once. If his eyes were red, could she kiss and caress them?

If I put my finger in and touch him, will he get angry?

"Qianqian?" Pei Wenbai repeated when he received no answer, "Mom also hopes you will go back today."

Wu Xian looked at her brother. Compared to the previous lie she hated about red, she hated her mother even more. She wondered if this was a hint, a rejection?

He brought up their shared mother, "Ms. Wu," to prevent his sister from suddenly wanting to go home.

So Wu Xian said as he wished, "I'm not going back, I'm going back to my studio."

Pei Wenbo's face showed frustration and annoyance. He rubbed his temples with a slightly distressed expression, but Wu Qian ignored this action. She only heard her brother say, "Then take care of yourself."

She thought, "See? This was a very good decision. He doesn't want me to go back."

Pei Wenbai's words had nothing to do with Wu Qian's conclusion, but she couldn't help but think that way.

When she got out of the car, she saw the helpless expression on her brother's face, and an indescribable sadness swept over her. But when he rolled up the car window to cover his face, Wu Qian became indifferent again.

She opened the door to her studio and went inside; this was her home, a home for herself.

It's called an art studio, but it's actually a three-story villa. After renovation, the entire first floor was opened up, creating a spacious and simple space to store Wu Qian's paintings, materials, inspirations, trash, and all sorts of other odds and ends.

The second and third floors are private areas.

She stepped over the scattered sheets of drawing paper on the ground, her shoe accidentally landing on one that left a dark mark. Wu Qian sat down on the ground and examined the paper against the light. After confirming it was creative garbage, she curled her lip and tossed it aside.

She then lay down on the spot, as if she were sleeping on paint. The distinctive smell of ink wafted over, and Wu Qian wondered what color her hair was now dyed.

If it dries out and isn't treated, would it be a good idea to cut it off?

The more she thought about it, the more she realized in less than a minute that her long black hair was so dirty that no one could fix it.

Wu Xian became agitated, so she went to find a pair of scissors.

She started rummaging through drawers and cabinets, turning the already messy room into a garbage dump. If she couldn't find scissors, wouldn't everything here be garbage?

Would there be scissors in the garbage dump? Wu Qian thought not, so she opened the studio door at one o'clock in the morning.

Since everyone thought that Wu Xian's illness was "not that serious" and "maybe he'll get better," no one noticed this, and naturally no one stopped it.

Besides, she just wanted to find a pair of scissors today, not do anything else, which was a perfectly legitimate reason, and she didn't need to call to report it.

Pei Wenbo probably never imagined that his sister, who had always behaved well and was even capable of leaving their lives, would suddenly go crazy one night.

Even if he knew, he still couldn't figure out the reason, as Wu Qian's family had never understood her.

Wu Xian ran out of the house and wandered barefoot slowly on the cement road in the community. The gravel embedded in her feet caused itching and pain, but she actually smiled because of this, feeling that she was closer to the scissors.

She walked a short distance, tripped over a tree branch, and fell to the ground, landing right in front of someone's house.

Wu Xian simply lay down on her back—she was a little tired and didn't want to walk anymore.

In her daze, she saw a man upside down open the door and walk in. Warm light shone behind him, obscuring his face. He squatted down in front of Wu Qian and said something.

His voice was as moving as a stone rolling down.

"..."

This is German, which Wu Xian knows but doesn't understand. She's been staring into those green eyes, which is why her thinking is so sluggish.

Wu Qian answered softly, "I'm looking for scissors."

It's strange that someone would lie in front of another person's house looking for scissors.

"Do you need scissors?" the man asked her in Chinese. "I happen to have a pair."

It's strange that a mentally ill person is lying in front of your house looking for scissors, and you actually give them to her instead of calling security.

The two of them could communicate in a strange way, yet it wasn't strange at all.

Puppy Diary (Cute Version)

Just lie down anywhere by the door at night; the puppy can lie anywhere! If anything happens, just ask Pei Wenbo to solve it; it'll give him something to do.

A handsome man appeared, so I decided to stage an accident to extort money from him.

Lucky little dog, hmph.
