3. That person is a purifier

3. That person is a purifier

The Sky Empire fleet, feared throughout the universe, shuttled rapidly among the stars at a seemingly slow speed.

Inside the main ship's command room, the Empire's generals were making a post-war summary for the planet K-72.

The huge blue screen showed the previously collected images. A snake-like beast coiled on the planet and slowly spit out its tongue. Before it could crush the planet, it was blasted into pieces by another white light that was powerful enough to split the universe.

The blond-haired, blue-eyed officer switched through several screens, finally freezing at the moment before the giant snake died.

"This time it's the 'Devour' disaster. The beast's owner is codenamed Jörmungandr, a reference to the giant snake in ancient Norse mythology. It first appeared ten years ago, destroying a small town before disappearing."

On both sides of the long table, the officers whispered to each other in surprise.

"Too fast. It has grown to the level of 'devourer' in just ten years. It should be quite compatible with the strange factor."

"Ten years ago, the Rose Legion surrounded it, but it escaped. If they had captured it then, Planet K-72 wouldn't have become a living hell."

"Admiral Ives should have completely destroyed it, right?"

"Don't question the Admiral's ability. There is no one more powerful than the Admiral in the entire galaxy."

At the head of the long table, Imperial Admiral Huo Jie Ives fixed his gaze on the blue screen, seemingly unable to hear the whispers below.

Just then, the Secretary General knocked on the door and came in, asking for instructions in an awkward manner.

"Admiral, a healer stated that a survivor refused to be treated and insisted on seeing the fleet's highest commander."

An officer shouted in a deep voice, "Is that survivor some kind of imperial prince or princess lost among the common people? Why would you bother the Admiral in the headquarters for such a trivial matter?"

The Secretary General said, "The survivors will appeal to the military court. A second lieutenant of the Rose Corps stationed on K-72 star escaped without regard for the lives of civilians."

In the crisis caused by the beast tide, it is a serious crime for the army to abandon the people and escape alone, enough to be brought to a military court.

However, the fleet is still traveling through space, so it is reasonable to hand it over to the superior officers for trial.

The officer still thought it was a trivial matter and said, "Tell him to wait, someone from the court will contact him later."

Just as the Secretary General was about to leave, Huo Jie Ives turned around, his dark green eyes calm.

"Karen, you handle it."

Captain Karen, who was called, immediately stood up and said, "Yes, Admiral!"

He was like a rooster entrusted with an important task, and he left the command room in a proud and proud manner amid the envious gazes of everyone.

Looking around at the generals on both sides of the long table, Huo Jie Ives spoke again, "Don't ignore the people's demands. Even the weakest wind can gather into a storm, raising waves that can overturn a giant ship."

The survivors were already filled with resentment because of the "Eating Disaster". If we ignore it at this time, it is likely to shake their fundamental trust in the empire.

In the corridor, Su Liu held onto the bulkhead in disbelief.

"What do you mean, there's no controversial behavior?"

Captain Karen looked at the broken girl in front of him, feeling sorry but helpless.

"We've verified with Zhang Yanchen's unit that he did indeed escape with the Purification Division. The Military Law of the Sacred Sky Empire stipulates that protecting the Purification Division's evacuation on the battlefield is the top priority. Second Lieutenant Zhang Yanchen's actions are beyond reproach."

Su Liu's heart bled when he thought of how Zhang Yanchen kicked his adoptive father down in order to escape.

"Is the Purifier a shield? He's clearly a coward. Even if it only took a few seconds, he could have saved his adoptive father!"

That bastard could escape with his beloved lover, but he didn't care about his father's life or death, even though he could take his father away with just a stretch of his hand.

Su Liu couldn't understand. He grabbed the collar of his shirt and roared, "As a lieutenant of the Empire, he cut off my arm in order to escape. Isn't he guilty of this?"

The imperial army is strictly prohibited from attacking civilians. Zhang Yanchen's behavior of harming ordinary people can at least be punished by demotion.

However, Karen looked up military law and still shook her head regretfully.

"I'm sorry, but with the Purifier here, this can only be considered an emergency retreat."

Unable to get the answer he wanted, Su Liu was so angry that his whole body was shaking and his chest was heaving.

She pushed away the healer who was supporting her and groped her way forward along the bulkhead.

"I'm going to find someone else until I can convict that damn bastard!"

The healer followed her. "You're quite weak, and your eyes are temporarily blinded by the poison gas. Could you please not move around?"

Su Liu pulled off the bandage, but the scene before him was indeed foggy, and the road ahead was only a blank white.

Just like my blank brain at this moment, I have no idea what to do next.

But in her mind, the desire for Zhang Yanchen's death was infinitely magnified, making her like a reckless bull, stubbornly rushing forward.

The healer reluctantly ordered, "Please capture my patient."

Hearing the sound of footsteps behind him, Su Liu gasped and quickened his pace, but he didn't know what obstacle he hit while running, and his weak body suddenly fell backwards.

But soon, a pair of hands firmly held her shoulders.

She looked up in confusion, but her vision was still blurry. It was as if she caught a glimpse of a flash of green light that was full of charm.

Captain Karen, who had caught up, braked suddenly and said, "Go..."

Huo Jie Ives raised his hand slightly to interrupt his shouting.

The corridor fell silent for a moment, and after Su Liu calmed down a little, the admiral slowly spoke.

"The Purifier is one of the Empire's most valuable assets. Her importance far exceeds that of ordinary people. Even if you appeal to the Emperor, you will not get the result you seek."

Lin Roufang was like Zhang Yanchen's shield, blocking all the reasons for conviction and rationalizing his cowardice and fear of death, abandoning civilians and escaping alone.

Perhaps it was because the admiral's voice was too low and safe, Su Liu realized that there was no turning back.

She slowly squatted down and curled up helplessly.

The Admiral knelt and rewrapped the bandage around her eyes, his movements extremely gentle and compassionate.

"I understand how you feel. Your family, your home, everything you've held dear since birth, vanished overnight. There's nothing more painful or unacceptable than this."

Su Liu covered his face with his hands, the bandages in front of him were soaked with blood and tears.

"What I want is not understanding."

The admiral remained silent for a long time, and finally had to have the unconscious Su Liu sent back to the treatment room.

Just as the admiral was about to leave, the hesitant healer mustered up his courage and ran over quickly.

"Go, General!"

The admiral stopped, his eyes cold, "Anything else?"

He did not intentionally release the heavy and dangerous murderous intent, but the long-term wars and killings had magnified his innate coldness.

Healer Xiangwang was also afraid of this majestic and powerful aura. He shrank his shoulders in fear and made mental preparations before submitting the medical examination report.

"The data from the various systems of the survivor just now is extremely inconsistent with common sense."

This wasn't something the Admiral was concerned about. He was about to end the topic when the healer said, "No matter which data point, it doesn't look like a living person."
