40. Apologize
Orphans are a group that will be pitied and looked down upon by society.
Su Liu will always remember how those so-called successful people came to donate, showing deep affection in public but despising him behind his back.
Even when they were forced to hug them in front of the camera, they would scold them and wash their hands vigorously afterwards, as if they were some kind of infectious virus.
There were also teachers who took them to help with farm work, and when they exchanged them for food, they would be mocked in person and called beggars begging.
I'm used to it.
So there was nothing to be angry about. Ansel's words did embarrass her, but she didn't hold a grudge against him.
But even so, Su Liu said seriously, "An apology is necessary. Even if I am unwilling, I still want to see him bow before me!"
"Of course." Huo Jie thanked her for her open-mindedness and tolerance.
The starry sky above Ives's house is beautiful, with the stars gathering into the Milky Way.
Su Liu was not in the mood to appreciate the beautiful night sky, and his eyes fell on Huo Jie's arm from time to time.
Realizing her guilt, Huo Jie took the initiative to unbutton the silver buttons and lifted his sleeves.
"It's not a serious injury. It won't even leave a scar."
Beneath the strong and powerful muscles, the prominent blue veins were pulsating steadily, without any sign of injury.
Even if there were no scars, it didn't mean Su Liu's guilt would be alleviated.
She said self-deprecatingly: "My teeth are really good."
It can tear off a large piece of the general's flesh and blood.
"You were infected at the time, and your strength increased several times." Huo Jie explained to Su Liu's astonishment, "Otherwise, we wouldn't have crushed the floor."
Ignoring the slightly ambiguous sentence at the end, Su Liu said in astonishment, "Am I infected? Haven't I already successfully acquired the ability to purify?"
This is also one of the reasons why Huo Jie is confused.
He was very sure that the moment Su Liu pounced on him, he was completely infected and had lost all his humanity.
So he reached out his hand between her eyebrows—and ended her painlessly, just as she wished.
But just as he was about to execute Sulu, he saw her eyes.
The eyeballs were twitching and shaking constantly, and the whites of the eyes were completely turned out, filled with great sadness.
That was not the emotion an infected person should have. She seemed to be lost in a horrible nightmare, struggling and unable to climb out.
So he hesitated and gave Yu Suliu a brief chance.
Then, a miracle happened.
Reason returned and her eyes returned to normal.
The moment the tears fell, he wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, and the precious Purifier was born.
Su Liu felt mixed emotions when he learned that he was almost killed by the admiral.
But the ending is good.
After staying in the Ives family castle for one night, Su Liu came to the restaurant in the morning and found the three young masters of the Ives family were all there.
Ansel had a very low air pressure around him and his face smelled terrible.
God knows how reluctant he was to bow his head and apologize to Su Liu, but because Huo Jie was there, he was almost suffocating and had high blood pressure. He had no choice but to say to Su Liu with a complicated constipated face, "I'm sorry."
The tone was so cold and hard, almost like ice.
Su Liucha lowered her eyes with a sullen expression and said softly, "Third Young Master doesn't seem to be truly repentant at all. But then again, for a commoner like me, to even receive an apology from you is truly a blessing from my ancestors. How could I truly expect anything more?"
Ansel slammed the table, "You're taking the tea too far!"
Huo Jie, who had just finished explaining military affairs to the deputy general, looked over and swept his green eyes coldly towards Ansel.
Ansel instantly lost his temper and said to Su Liu through gritted teeth, "It was my fault last night. I shouldn't have embarrassed you in public. I was wrong. I'm sorry!"
Su Liu tutted his words and said while eating breakfast, "You have no sincerity at all. You might as well not apologize at all."
Ansel glanced at Huo Jie secretly, gritted his teeth and whispered, "Don't push your luck, you little bitch!"
Su Liu complained directly to Huo Jie, "He called me a stinky, wild girl from the countryside who reeked of dirt."
"Don't add adjectives randomly, green tea!" Ansel roared.
Seeing the two bickering happily, Vincent said with a smile, "As expected, people of similar age have more topics to talk about. Since Liuliu rarely comes to the imperial capital, why don't Ansel accompany Liuliu to go shopping?"
"Then I might as well die." Ansel said stiffly.
Su Liu was even more reluctant, "Thank you for your kindness, but I have to go back to the association later."
Since she doesn't have to go shopping anymore, she might as well go back to school early to take care of her fields.
Vincent felt sorry, "I hope you can stay in the imperial capital for a while longer."
Huo Jie finished his meal and put down his silver fork.
"It doesn't matter. Su Liu is now a second lieutenant in the military and can come and go freely in the imperial capital."
Su Liu still remembered something. "Of those things from last night, I'll only take the ones I purchased on your behalf. The rest will be left at the association, so please recycle them yourself."
Huo Jie raised his chin towards Ansel and said, "It was his card that was used."
ah?
Huo Jie continued, "A verbal apology isn't enough to compensate for the emotional damage I've caused you. Consider those things Ansel has given you as compensation. If you don't need them, you can sell them for cash."
When Su Liu heard this, he thought it was a good idea.
"Okay, I'll take it then."
Ansel sneered, "You've revealed your true colors, you greedy woman!"
Su Liu said with a smile, "If I had spent the Admiral's money, I would have returned it. Since it's yours, I really regret not maxing out the card."
“…”Stinky girl! After returning to the association, Su Liu went to pack his bags.
Vincent was waiting in the car.
The Minister of Justice expressed his confusion and called his brother on video.
"Why should I take Liuliu to the flight station?"
The admiral, who had just finished a military meeting, sat in a chair and leisurely turned the ring on his hand.
"Ansel is still mad, and I have something else to take care of. Besides you who's on vacation, who else can go?"
In fact, the association will be responsible for the delivery, and Vincent feels that the reasons are far more than that.
After spending many years together, he knows his brother's character very well.
"Huo Jie," he said deeply, "I am twelve years older than Su Liu."
"Yes, you will die before her and leave her a large and rich inheritance."
"...Do you think I'm an old man with one foot in the coffin?" Vincent was always helpless towards his younger brother. "Don't try to hit on me. Liuliu is just like a child in my eyes."
No matter how cruel he is, he would never lay hands on a little girl.
Huo Jie remained noncommittal. "Maybe one day you and I will change our minds. It's not a bad thing to have more contact now."
"Compared to me, you're actually quite suitable," Vincent said. "You're only a few years older than Liuliu, and your character is much more mature than Ansel's."
On the other end of the video, the admiral was silent for a long time.
"I don't have that kind of feeling," he said. "All I can give her is a disguised tenderness."
Vincent was about to speak when Huo Jie continued, "Anyway, it's either Ansel or you. If you want to rebel, go find your father."
The video cut off and Vincent sighed.
He tilted his head and found Su Liu staring straight out the car window.
She may have been standing outside the car for a long time and heard most of their conversation.
I don't know why, but my face looks very ugly.
