47. A Feast in the Rainforest
Su Liu hesitated for a long time, but finally grabbed the few fish that were slippery and put them into the bucket.
Toyama Sara whispered, "Do you want to raise it?"
"It's a fish after all, just keep it." Although Su Liu was disgusted, his hands did not slow down at all.
Afterwards, the river water continued to surge towards the shore, and many small strange beasts were washed up. They were all purified by Su Liu and became the things in her bucket.
The fighters fought hard with the strange beasts, while Su Liujing picked up the small ones and happily harvested a lot of fish.
However, this river should be occupied by the tilapia family. Most of the fish in the river are tilapia, and there are very few other species.
A few hours later, the entire river turned blood red, and countless fish skeletons floated on the surface of the river.
Bi Yanmian dismantled some materials and Siegfried picked up the crystal core.
The sun hadn't set yet, but the dense jungle was terribly dark, suggesting a heavy rainstorm might be imminent.
"Stay where you are and talk about it tomorrow." Luden gave the order.
Afterwards, Bai Zhou and Luden set up the tent and set up a cordon.
Fei Yali and Bi Yanmian counted the crystal cores and animal materials they had harvested during the day, and then planned tomorrow's itinerary.
Su Liu brought back a bucket of water from the river. Toyama Sara rolled up her sleeves and asked, "Are you going to prepare dinner? What are you having for dinner?"
"We brought rice and flour, plus mutton and fish, which is enough," said Su Liu.
"We're going to kill the sheep and eat it now?" Toyama Sara's mouth began to water, her anticipation high. "Are you going to eat the whole thing?"
"Well, first kill one, stew fifteen or sixteen pounds of meat, make a mutton hotpot, and then grill seven lamb chops. If there is enough time, make a mutton pilaf." Su Liu made simple arrangements.
Sara Toyama was a little excited. She didn't know how long it had been since she had eaten mutton. Maybe she could eat as much as she wanted today.
"Let me help you. Tell me what to do."
After several people hiked into the rainforest, the tool used for transportation and loading was a storage robot.
This robot is large but very agile and can follow its owner on any mountain, snow, jungle or even swamp.
Its chest cavity is a giant storage cabinet that can even keep things warm or frozen, provided there is solar energy.
Su Liu pressed the button, the robot's legs folded, and the chest storage cabinet descended.
After opening the cabinet door, Su Liu took a bucket of purified water, took out rice, flour, oil, salt, pots, pans, stoves, etc., and then called the sheep out of the cage.
"Which senior is here to slaughter the sheep?" she shouted.
Sieg, who had a little free time, flew over and killed the bleating sheep with a single blow.
Toyama Sara stared at the sheep that died without any pain, took out a scalpel, and licked her lips: "Let me do the autopsy."
Su Liu gave her the task of dissection and went to get some wild vegetables nearby to make the hot pot.
Fei Yali was worried, so she followed him.
There are actually quite a few edible things in the jungle, such as wild bananas, bamboo shoots, palm hearts, wood ear mushrooms, bracken, etc.
As long as it is cleaned, most of them can be put into hot pot.
Su Liu picked fruits like crazy. In addition to eating tonight, he also wanted to reserve seeds and plant them all after returning to school.
She collected frantically, and Fei Yali gave her warnings.
Occasionally, strange beasts and plants would attack, but Fei Yali could easily deal with them.
More than an hour later, the two returned to the camp with a large pile of harvest.
Sara Toyama was still performing the autopsy. There was no blood on the sheepskin, and it was hanging intact on the tree.
The sheep's head is also cut smoothly, and its eyes are particularly peaceful, almost like a piece of art.
The already cut mutton, viscera, bones, etc. were all neatly arranged, and even the mutton blood filled a full basin, without wasting a single bit.
"So beautiful." Su Liu exclaimed.
Toyama Sara said shyly, "It's nothing. If I were to perform surgery on you, I would be more careful. The incision is very beautiful, and the stitches are dense and neat."
"Thank you, I hope that day will never come." Su Liu said.
Dinner was left to these two people, and the rest of the people went to patrol the area after they finished their work.
As the sky grew darker, Su Liu turned on the hanging lamp.
On the outdoor fuel stove, a large high-pressure iron pot is filled with pure water, and sheep bones are put in and boiled quickly.
Because there is not enough time to wait for the lamb bones to slowly boil out the aroma, using a pressure cooker to quickly stew the meat is the best choice.
Su Liu first blanched the mutton, then picked out the parts he liked to eat, and quickly processed the tripe, lungs, intestines, blood, etc., saving them for hot pot later.
Other wild vegetables, such as wood ear mushrooms, bracken, and even bamboo shoots, also need to be washed and blanched separately.
Seeing the bamboo shoots, Toyama Sara was particularly surprised, "There are bamboo shoots in the rain forest?"
"Alien plants don't care about growing seasons or climate. As long as they want to survive, they can create an oasis in the desert."
After dissecting the sheep, Sara Toyama followed Sulu's instructions and grilled the lamb chops.
In addition to lamb chops, Sulu also scraped a dozen tilapia and gave them to Toyama Sara to grill together.
The fragrance spread farther and farther in the rainforest, and the faint smell of blood also attracted many exotic beasts and plants to stare at it.
But for Bi Yanmian and others, this is tantamount to walking into a trap.
No matter how many exotic beasts and plants come, they can work together to deal with them and obtain animal materials and crystal cores on the spot.
At around seven or eight in the evening, the rainforest was as dark as midnight.
When the high temperature dropped, a rainstorm came all over the place.
Thunder and lightning roared in the sky like a dragon's roar, and the wind was howling, and the tent was about to be blown away.
There was only a simple straw hut for cooking, which was leaking everywhere and the fire was even blown out by the wind at one point.
Su Liu and the other man hurriedly moved the iron pot, grill, etc. into the tent, and in their panic they were soaked like drowned rats.
Fortunately, although the tent is shaky, it is actually very solid and has sound insulation.
As soon as we entered the tent, the lightning and thunder outside didn't seem so scary anymore.
"I was so busy cooking that I forgot to wear my raincoat," Toyama Sara said with a wry smile, "My whole body is wet, and my clothes are sticking to me, which is really uncomfortable."
She didn't bring any spare clothes, so she was afraid she would have to wear dry clothes.
"Wait for Senior Bi to come back and grill it for us." Su Liu wiped his hair with a towel.
Soon, several people who were out on patrol came back one after another.
There are cordons and traps set up around, so if nothing goes wrong, at least we can have a good dinner.
On the table, mutton hotpot, vegetarian dishes, grilled lamb chops, grilled fish, etc. all exuded an enticing aroma, making several people drool.
Fei Yali sat down and scooped a bowl of mutton soup. While blowing away the foam, she said, "I dare say this is the most sumptuous meal I've ever had in the wild."
Siegfried took away a plate of grilled lamb chops and sat alone in the corner to savor it in silence.
Luden and Bai Zhou had already started eating hot pot, eating without even blinking.
Behind the curtain, Su Liu and Toyama Sara took off their clothes and asked Bi Yanmian to dry them.
Bi Yanmian looked at the others eating with their mouths full of oil and said resentfully, "Leave some for me."
"Don't worry, senior. There are more than ten kilograms of mutton alone, which is definitely enough to eat." Su Liu said.
However, it’s too early to say that.
Not to mention the mutton, even the mutton offal was eaten cleanly.
She also made an extra pot of mutton pilaf, leaving not a single grain of rice behind.
The big eaters were not full at all, and they all held their bowls and looked at her eagerly.
"...We can eat tomorrow and just make do with it tonight?"
