Upon hearing this, everyone immediately understood.
Liu Ming was like a bully in Class D, yet he didn't seem unhappy about falling half a step behind Duan Kun today, which suggests that Duan Kun's identity must be extraordinary.
Many of those in Class Ding were just there to coast along. Their families were either rich or powerful in a place like Jinghai County, and they had naturally heard their families mention that Madam Guo's family seemed to be quite influential. Now, everyone looked at Duan Kun with caution.
Duan Kun was very satisfied with their gazes; he couldn't get such looks in the capital.
Even if his family had connections to get him into the academies in the capital, there were countless people with even greater connections inside. He would be fine as long as he kept a low profile, but he couldn't show off his power.
Duan Kun smiled insincerely and said, "I'll be troubling you all for the time being."
What followed naturally turned into a massive display of sycophancy. Although half of the students in Class Ding were just loafing around without any real knowledge, there were also those who came to study diligently despite their weak foundations. Seeing this scene, those students dared not say anything and could only keep their feelings bottled up inside, feeling incredibly uncomfortable.
Fortunately, they each have their own way of dealing with things, and there were no conflicts or anything like that.
On the second day of Duan Kun's visit to the academy, after the morning classes were over and the class was about to end, Liu Ming and Duan Kun looked at each other and then went their separate ways after the teacher left.
Liu Ming naturally tried to lure the person over, while Duan Kun naturally tried to get Guo Shu to drink something that would make him lose control.
Even the beauties of Chuxiang Pavilion couldn't move Guo Shu, so Duan Kun wasn't confident he could make him lose control.
Duan Kun had already sent people to keep an eye on Guo Shu, and soon they had a chance encounter.
Guo Shu encountered Duan Kun walking towards him alone with a servant. There was something strange about it. Guo Shu didn't know why, but he just didn't want to have too much to do with Duan Kun.
Guo Shu pretended not to see Duan Kun and turned to leave, but Duan Kun quickly walked up to Guo Shu and said, "Cousin, what do you mean by this? Why are you leaving as soon as you see me? Are you avoiding me?"
Guo Shu was avoiding Duan Kun, but he couldn't admit it, so he said, "What are you saying, cousin? I was just thinking about something and didn't see you."
Duan Kun knew he was lying through his teeth, but he didn't care. He figured there would be plenty of things to drive him crazy later anyway.
Duan Kun smiled and said, "Oh, I misunderstood you, cousin. I'm not very familiar with this place. It was fine yesterday because someone showed me around, but today I don't know anyone and I can't find a place to eat. Why don't you take me there, cousin?"
Guo Shu felt that Duan Kun must have taken the wrong medicine today. He and Duan Kun didn't get along. Although they hadn't confronted each other directly, they both knew it. Besides, he didn't believe that Duan Kun couldn't find a place to eat. Anyone could ask anyone in the academy's dining hall. Moreover, his servant couldn't possibly not know this.
However, he really couldn't refuse Duan Kun's offer.
No matter what he wants to do, he'll deal with whatever comes his way. He wants to see what Duan Kun is up to today.
"Alright."
When Duan Kun saw that Guo Shu had agreed, a smile unconsciously appeared on his face. Guo Shu had been paying attention to Duan Kun the whole time, so she naturally saw his smile.
He found it increasingly strange. Duan Kun and he didn't get along, so how could Duan Kun laugh while eating with someone he didn't get along with? This was too illogical. Guo Shu didn't show it on the surface, but he became even more wary.
Upon arriving at their destination, Duan Kun casually instructed his servant to go with Guo Shu's page to fetch food. Duan Kun then pulled Guo Shu aside and said, "Cousin, I need your help with something today. After we finish eating, will you accompany your cousin somewhere?"
Having learned from her previous experience at Chu Xiang Pavilion, Guo Shu immediately asked, "Where is it?"
Duan Kun said with a smile, "Don't worry, cousin. I know you don't go to brothels, so I definitely won't take you there today. Eat well, and we'll talk about it after we finish eating."
Guo Shu remained very vigilant, but his vigilance was focused on the place Duan Kun planned to take him.
Duan Kun's servant and Guo Shu's page arrived shortly after. Duan Kun saw his servant's hint and knew that the matter had been accomplished. Guo Shu took the food from the page and ate it without any suspicion.
To avoid making Guo Shu feel strange, Duan Kun naturally ate as well.
After finishing their meal, Guo Shu waited for Duan Kun's next words, when Duan Kun asked, "Cousin, do you have anything else to do this afternoon?"
Guo Shu: "I have class this afternoon, what's wrong?"
Duan Kun said, "I forgot. I was planning to take my cousin somewhere, but it seems that I won't be able to do so today."
Then Duan Kun left with his servant, leaving Guo Shu completely bewildered, wondering what was going on.
"Young Master, shall we go back to the dormitory to rest?"
Guo Shu thought for a moment and said, "Let's go back!"
Guo Shu loves reading, but if she has the opportunity, she will take a short nap at noon so that she will have energy in the afternoon.
Although Guo Shu didn't understand Duan Kun's purpose today, he could do nothing about it since Duan Kun had already gone back.
On his way back, Guo Shu suddenly ran into someone, a classmate from Class A. The person didn't usually talk to him much, but suddenly said he had questions to ask. Guo Shu didn't refuse and followed the person to the bookstore instead of going back to rest.
Liu Ming finally found a reason to summon the teacher and many classmates to Guo Shu's usual master's dormitory. When they arrived, they saw a woman sneaking out of Guo Shu's dormitory.
The teacher looked unwell. There were hardly any women in a place like the academy, and even if there were, they were all elderly. This woman looked like she was still unmarried, so it was no wonder the teacher looked unwell.
"Bring the person over here and ask them what happened."
The woman was also terrified. She had been brought here and was now seeing so many people, all of them men. She felt utterly ashamed and indignant.
