Yinzhen led Yunrong to a lake before stopping. It was evening, the sun was setting, and the evening glow on the horizon painted half the sky red. The lake shimmered, and there was an endless grassland in the distance—a truly beautiful sight.
Yunrong hadn't seen such natural scenery in a long time, and exclaimed, "So beautiful!"
Seeing that Yunrong liked it, Yinzhen was relieved. He had been to this place in his previous life. It was the first time he accompanied his father on a tour of Mongolia. He had forgotten what he had done to be scolded, and then he just rode his horse around by himself and unintentionally came here.
It was evening then, and the lake was shimmering. His heart calmed down immediately, and he remembered this place.
Yinzhen took off his cloak and spread it on the grass, saying, "Sit down for a while; there are fish in this lake."
After saying that, Yinzhen went to catch fish.
Yunrong didn't find the beautiful scenery or watching Yinzhen catch fish boring at all. Instead, she cried very calmly. This feeling was rare, and Yunrong thoroughly enjoyed this peaceful and serene feeling.
Yinzhen was very skilled and quickly caught three sizable fish. You would think he was a fisherman by profession!
Yinzhen cleaned the fish with the water they had brought, then lit a fire and prepared to grill it.
Yinzhen took out various seasonings suitable for grilling fish from the things he had brought with him, applied the seasonings to the fish, and began to grill it.
Yinzhen's technique looked very skillful; it was clear at a glance that he was an experienced person.
Yunrong: "You used to grill fish quite a lot, didn't you?"
Yinzhen nodded: "Indeed, we've grilled a lot of fish, but apart from my brothers from my previous life, no one else has ever eaten it."
Yunrong smiled and said, "Then it's my honor."
Yinzhen smiled and retorted, "It is my honor."
As they talked, time passed quickly, and Yinzhen's grilled fish was ready. Yinzhen picked out the one that looked the best and handed it to Yunrong: "Want to try it?"
The sun was about to set. To be honest, Yunrong had been out and about quite a bit today, so she was naturally a little hungry. Smelling the aroma of grilled fish, she smiled and accepted the grilled fish that Yinzhen handed her, and began to eat.
After just one bite, Yunrong was amazed: "Delicious!"
Besides "delicious," Yunrong could think of other words to describe it.
Yunrong had eaten grilled fish before; her family was well-off and she had tried many different kinds, but none of them tasted as good as this one.
Perhaps it was because Yinzhen was a master at grilling fish, perhaps it was because she was genuinely hungry, or perhaps it was because the person grilling the fish was the most special person, and because the person was special, the fish she grilled also became the most special thing.
Hearing Yunrong's praise, Yinzhen smiled and said, "If there's a chance in the future, I'll take you out to see more places." The Qing Dynasty's territory is vast, with so many great rivers and lakes. Yinzhen wanted to take Yunrong to more places and grill fish from different regions for her.
Yinzhen didn't know how long he would live. He thought that when Bobo was able to take over his position and he was still able to walk, he hoped to take Yunrong to see the mountains and rivers he had governed for two lifetimes.
Yinzhen didn't tell Yunrong about these thoughts. They were all too far away. He wanted to wait until things were certain before telling Yunrong, so that he wouldn't have any regrets if they couldn't be realized in the end.
After eating grilled fish, the two saw that the sun was about to set and it would get dark soon, so Yinzhen took Yunrong back.
Upon returning, Yinzhen received a message from a servant saying that several tribal princes had arrived that day, accompanied by their younger relatives. Among them were members of the Khorchin tribe, as well as Saktu Khan Chenggun, his wife and children, and his own sister Ya Ruo.
Besides them, there were other people; quite a few came today.
Moreover, they came to request an audience as soon as they arrived, but were all refused. This is why Yinzhen and Yunrong were able to witness the scene of two women vying for one man on the street.
If they were summoned today, these people would naturally not go out and wander around.
Yinzhen inquired about some situations and processed some memorials sent from the capital...
While Yinzhen was busy with his work, Qinggele and Luobuzang Gunbu were having a big argument! It was all because of what happened during the day. Even though Qinggele knew Ya Ruo's identity, it didn't stop her from hating her.
Moreover, Qinggele felt that Lobsang Gunbu was quite protective of Yaro today, which made Qinggele feel extremely uncomfortable, like she had drunk vinegar. She felt uncomfortable and wanted others to feel uncomfortable as well.
They started arguing with Lobsang Gunbu.
Qinggeler was furious: "Lobzang Gunbu, remember this: you are my fiancé. I, Abu, and you, Abu, made a promise. And today you actually apologized to her on my behalf! I've lost all face..."
Lobsang Gunbu was annoyed. He really had no interest in Ya Ruo. If he had known that he would be entangled with someone after saving her today, he would have stood by and done nothing. What a mess this was!
Besides, he's not stupid. Not to mention that he and Qinggele are already engaged, which was arranged by their parents. This involves various exchanges of interests, and it's not something that can be easily backed out of.
Besides, with his status, he has a good chance of becoming the leader of the Khorchin tribe in the future, and the emperor would not agree to his marriage alliance with another tribe.
Lobsang Gunbu was getting a little tired of being wrapped up, and he saw Qinggele's behavior as unreasonable. His patience was limited, so he became impatient.
So he said somewhat stiffly, "I've said before that I'm not interested in that Ya Ruo. Today was the first time I met her, but I just happened to save her once. I don't know why she's clinging to me. Believe it or not."
Qinggele, seeing Lobsang Gunbu's attitude, became even angrier. What did he mean? He was actually starting to get impatient with her because of another woman! This was outrageous! "You actually spoke to me like that because of her? You...you..."
