Chapter 13: A hodgepodge of miscellaneous, half-baked knowledge

Since Chen Nian was unaware of this, the important task of teaching Xiao Yanzi was handed over to Qing'er, while Chen Nian became a lazy bum, eating, drinking, and watching plays.

"Princess, is your hand injury better?"

Because they needed to teach the little swallow, they moved to a more spacious place.

I don't know how the seats were arranged, but Chen Nian and Ertai were inexplicably sitting together.

Ertai looked at the person sitting next to him and asked shyly, his ears turning red, but his face was no longer as red as before. He looked at Chen Nian, who had his hands on his knees, with worry in his eyes.

"Much better"

Seeing Ertai staring at his injured hand, Chen Nian couldn't help but shrink back, secretly relieved.

Luckily, I had asked Qing'er to help me untie part of the bandages on my hands, which were wrapped like pig's trotters. Otherwise, I would have been so embarrassed.

Were you injured today?

Shen Nian still remembered that Ertai had helped her avoid the pastries today. She already had a high opinion of Ertai because of the drama, and after today's incident, her opinion of Ertai was even higher.

But I don't have any bad thoughts, after all, they have an official couple, and based on the edited videos I watched before, Ertai should like Xiaoyanzi now.

He once said he wanted to marry Xiao Yanzi, but the others strongly opposed it, and he himself didn't even know why.

Ultimately, because Saiya's personality was very similar to Xiaoyanzi's, he took the initiative to attract Saiya's attention in place of his brother, won Saiya's heart, and eventually "married" to Mongolia.

Thinking of Ertai, the last person, leaving behind his familiar place, his brother, friends, father and mother, went to Mongolia, a place where he knew no one and couldn't even speak the language.

As she pondered, a hint of pity unconsciously crept into Chen Nian's eyes as she looked at Ertai.

Ertai, standing to the side, watched as Chen Nian, after asking him a question, became lost in thought, and even, as he continued to ponder, a look of pity appeared in his eyes.

The look in his eyes left Ertai completely bewildered, but he still obediently replied.

My left hand is slightly sprained.

Are there any other injuries?

"there is none left"

Because of the seriousness with which Chen Nian asked the question, Ertai answered very seriously, even adding a gesture by shaking his head.

"Ying'er, fetch some of the ointment we brought back."

Upon hearing from Ertai that he had sprained his hand, Chen Nian instructed Ying'er, who was waiting to the side, "I hope it's not because of me that I got hurt, or I'll be in deep trouble."

Over the years, she has become somewhat of a doctor through her illnesses, and has learned a variety of ancient medical techniques. She has also figured out some liniments for sprains and bruises, and they are quite effective.

Because her profession in her previous life was medicine, she had some basic knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine. However, she was a surgeon, and she only learned traditional Chinese medicine after coming to the Qing Dynasty.

However, traditional Chinese medicine is profound and complex, and it is not something that a novice like her can easily learn. She only learned a little bit, and compared with the real doctors and physicians of the Qing Dynasty, her medical skills were simply not up to par.

They have real skills, she's just a half-baked amateur.

...

In her past life, she was so afraid of interacting with strangers that she chose to stay home and be a couch potato. That's how she came across "Princess Pearl" and became obsessed with it.

She didn't know how many times she had watched it over and over again.

From her perspective as a surgeon in her previous life, Ertai's gesture of reaching out to shield himself from the pastries could easily have caused him to sprain his hand.

"No, no, no need, it's no trouble at all. I've already applied the medicine, it'll be fine soon. My hand is alright."

Ertai never expected such an unexpected joy.

However, how could a man like him accept gifts from a princess so casually? If people found out, it would ruin the princess's reputation.

He had already offended her with his actions today, and he thought she would be angry.

After all, he had hugged her without her permission. Although it was well-intentioned and he had obtained the Empress Dowager's consent, it was still an offense.

Thankfully, she wasn't angry.

Little did he know, Chen Nian was completely unaware of this matter.

Even if they found out, they wouldn't care too much; Ertai's worries were completely unnecessary.

Of course, if someone else were to hug her, Shen Nian might feel a little annoyed, but with Ertai, she would be viewing it through a very biased lens.

Shen Nian had no idea about Ertai's concerns; she already knew that Ertai's hand was injured.

"No trouble at all, Ying'er will go get it."

"Princess, the ointment is here."

Before Ertai could speak, Ying'er had already brought the ointment.

Chen Nian took it with her uninjured hand and handed it to Ertai beside her.

"You can give it a try; it's quite effective. I made it myself."

The ointment, which had been handed to me, was in a small, exquisite jar with a faint, pleasant fragrance, unlike the strong, pungent smell of most ointments. It smelled wonderful.

Ertai initially wanted to refuse, but upon hearing the part about "the few words he made himself," he suddenly changed his mind. After a moment of internal struggle, he finally accepted the gift with both hands.

Thank you, Princess.

He'll be careful; he'll hide it well and make sure no one finds it and ruins the little princess's reputation.

"You don't need to be so careful. This is just ordinary wound medicine, not a rare treasure."

Seeing Ertai's cautious actions, Shen Nian's smile deepened.

It feels really good to have something you gave treated so carefully.

I won't give myself the feeling that I'm just being delusional.

But seeing Ertai treating her like a precious treasure, Chen Nian still smiled and offered a word of advice.

That's being far too careful, as if the jar were some fragile treasure that needed to be handled with utmost care.

"Princess, what you're giving me is a treasure."
