"Cough—cough cough—"

Hearing the cough coming from the bedside, Qing'er, who was lying by the bedside watching over Chen Nian as she woke up and fell asleep, quickly stood up and called out with worry and heartache.

Qing'er quickly poured a glass of water, then sat on the bed, helped Chen Nian up, and leaned her against her before holding the glass to Chen Nian's lips.

Chen Nian slowly drank the water from Qing'er's hand, as if all his strength had been drained, and leaned against Qing'er as if he had no bones.
"Niannian, come and drink your medicine."
Qing'er took the medicine from Xuan'er, who had been waiting outside and had come in to deliver the medicine after hearing the noise from inside. She carefully scooped it up, blew on it, and fed it to Chen Nian's lips.
The bitter medicine entered his mouth, and Chen Nian immediately sobered up. He tilted his head back and met Qing'er's red and swollen eyes, and immediately fell silent.
"Qing'er, you... you know?"
The two stared at each other silently for a long time before Chen Nian broke the silence and tentatively asked a question.
