Chapter 104 Yuqing Palace

When Mingxiu arrived at Yuqing Palace, Yinreng had not yet come. Wulan, Yinreng's head maid, saw Mingxiu enter and hurriedly came out to greet her: "This servant greets Consort Ming."

Mingxiu nodded: "Get up, Baocheng hasn't finished school yet?"

"Yes, His Highness the Crown Prince hasn't finished his studies yet, but Kuaile will probably be back soon. Your Highness can wait a while."

Mingxiu nodded, letting Wulan go about her business, while she took Lüzhu for a stroll around Yuqing Palace.

Yuqing Palace was originally decorated by Mingxiu and Yinreng together, and it was quite childlike. However, after living there for a long time, some changes were made according to Yinreng's own living habits, but the overall design remained the same.

She walked familiarly to the swing, sat down, and gently swayed, waiting for the person in question to return.

This swing was one that Yinreng wanted to have in Mingxiu Palace, so Mingxiu arranged one for him as well.

After spending some time in Yuqing Palace, Mingxiu was leisurely enjoying her time when she suddenly wrinkled her nose and sniffed.

He instantly covered his nose and gagged.

Green Bamboo looked at Mingxiu nervously.

Mingxiu waved her hand, loosened her other hand slightly from her nose, took a deep breath, and then covered her nose again.

With a wrinkled face, he asked the green bamboo beside him, "Did you smell anything strange?"

Green Bamboo nodded with a strange expression.

Seeing Green Bamboo nod, Mingxiu knew she hadn't misheard, but she frowned as she looked at the palace servant beside her whose expression hadn't changed at all.

I stood up from the swing and followed the smell to see what it was. It smelled awful.

Mingxiu wanted to wander around, and naturally, the people in Yuqing Palace couldn't stop her.

Therefore, Mingxiu was able to find the source of the flavor without any obstacles.

Frowning as she looked at the tightly closed room ahead, the eunuch serving beside her saw Mingxiu arrive and knelt on the ground in fright.

Seeing this, Mingxiu became even more suspicious. She wasn't worried that Yinreng would do anything bad, since not to mention the palace guards and the emperor's secret guards, even the system's built-in underage protection system wouldn't allow Yinreng to do anything wrong.

I wonder what naughty things this child has done this time.

Looking back over the years, as Yinreng grew older, his mischievousness also increased, and it was truly hilarious how Kangxi had to clean up his messes every day.

Thinking of this, Mingxiu revealed a gloating smile.

This is just the beginning; he'll have a lot to deal with when there are more children.

It's his fault for having so many children.

Having gloated enough, Mingxiu looked at the door in front of her and, ignoring the little eunuch's attempts to stop her, prepared to push it open and go inside.

The moment Mingxiu saw what was inside the door, her lips twitched, utterly bewildered.

Looking at the room full of eggs from some unknown animal, and some chicks and ducklings that had already hatched, I was speechless. The room was warm and cozy with a heated kang (a traditional heated brick bed).

However, the warm air, combined with the environment, immediately brought out the smell.

Mingxiu covered her nose in pain and turned to leave.

He asked someone to close the door, walked a few steps away, and took a few deep breaths to calm down.

Yinreng was leading Yinti and Yinzhi towards Yuqing Palace after finishing his studies when he saw someone running towards them. Yinreng recognized him as someone who served at Yuqing Palace.

When they learned that Mingxiu had come to Yuqing Palace, the three men's expressions changed instantly. Yinreng and Yinti ran ahead quickly, leaving the eunuch to lead Yinzhi slowly over from behind.

As soon as they returned, they saw Mingxiu looking at them with an unfriendly expression.

The two of them stopped in their tracks instantly.

Yinti gestured for Yinreng to hurry over, but he himself stood still.

Yinreng stood there with a bitter face, and when he felt his elder brother's movement, the flesh on his cheeks wrinkled even more.

Seeing Mingxiu's increasingly unpleasant expression, he could only approach Mingxiu under the trembling gaze of the palace servants attending to his pets.

She smiled and looked at Mingxiu, saying, "Mother Ming, what brings you here today?"

Mingxiu just stared at him without saying a word, waiting until Yinreng felt uncomfortable before slowly opening her mouth.

Turning to Baoqing, he said gently, "Why is the eldest prince standing there? Come here and stand with the crown prince."

Upon hearing this, their expressions darkened even further. "Oh no! Before, Consort Ming (the Crown Prince's younger brother) always called me (the Crown Prince's brother) 'Protect Cheng,' she's definitely angry now."

But there was no other way but to go, and Yinti walked over with heavy steps.

Mingxiu didn't show it on her face, but she found it a little funny in her heart. She was usually very kind, so what was she doing? Was it really that scary?

Looking at the two trembling people standing in front of her, Mingxiu finally couldn't help but speak up after a long while: "You two, one of you can explain to me what's going on in that room."

They said they would have the family explain, but this is Yuqing Palace, so the one who would explain would definitely be Yinreng.

As expected, Yinreng spoke somewhat embarrassedly: "Mother Consort already knows. My elder brother and I just want to raise chicks and ducklings to see how they all come out."

Upon hearing Yinreng's explanation, Mingxiu was at a loss for words. She couldn't say that the child had done anything wrong, since it was a good thing that the child was curious and willing to take action for that curiosity.

but……

Mingxiu said with some helplessness, "But no matter what, you can't keep them indoors. Isn't the palace's large animal husbandry courtyard enough? Why do you have to keep them indoors?"

They didn't even smell how awful it was.

Yinreng and Yinti scratched their heads somewhat embarrassedly.

Yinreng pouted and said, "The main problem is that it's cold now, and they won't hatch if it's not warm."

Min-soo, speechless, yelled from inside, "Couldn't you two pick a warmer day to do this?"

He opened his mouth as if to say something more, but then he saw the little eunuch leading Yinzhi in from behind, and the child was looking at the situation inside with a blank expression.

Mingxiu was speechless for a moment.

She pursed her lips and said, "Alright, I won't tell you about this anymore. Hurry up and get the stuff out of there so it can dissipate the smell. Otherwise, if your imperial father finds out, you'll be in big trouble. Watch out for your bottoms getting bruised and battered."

After saying that, she glanced at Yinreng. She didn't know Yinti, but Yinreng had been spanked quite a few times.

Sure enough, upon hearing the sound of spanking, Yinreng suddenly covered his bottom with both hands, a look of fear on his face.

Minxiu smiled with satisfaction and beckoned Yinzhi over.

He gave Yinzhi a brief greeting, and judging from the situation today, he knew it wasn't a good time to ask questions.

I had no choice but to get up and go back first.

Three small figures were left watching Mingxiu's retreating figure.

When Mingxiu's figure disappeared from sight, Yinti breathed a slight sigh of relief and looked at Yinreng, saying, "Thank goodness, it was Consort Ming today. It would have been dangerous if it had been someone else."

Yinreng nodded in agreement: "It seems we still need to speed things up, elder brother."

Yinti nodded, and the two looked at each other as if it were a matter of utmost importance.
