That day
The palace was bustling from early morning. Mingxiu slowly got up, washed up, ate breakfast, and started walking towards the Imperial Garden, followed by a young eunuch carrying a large box.
The competition is about to begin, and everyone is eager to win. The house has been bustling with excitement these past few days, all in anticipation of today's grand event.
When Mingxiu arrived at the Imperial Garden, there were already many people there, including the princes and princesses who had arrived early.

So neither of them were afraid of her. Rongxian pulled Duanjing over with a smile, each holding a butterfly kite and a dragonfly kite.

Duan Jing beside her nodded in agreement, her eyes unwilling to look away from the kite.
Mingxiu smiled and said, "Thank you for the compliment. Your kites are also very beautiful. Did you make them yourselves?" Mingxiu looked at the patterns on the kites the two children were holding and felt that they didn't seem to be drawn by an artist.
Upon hearing this, the two children exchanged a glance, nodded, and happily began to explain the meaning of the patterns they had drawn to Mingxiu.
Mingxiu listened with a smile and offered two compliments in response.
The atmosphere was very harmonious.
Yinreng and the others were also watching the kite in Mingxiu's hand, but they didn't come over. Although the kite in Mingxiu's hand was cute, it wasn't as imposing as the kites in their hands.
Yinti held a tiger kite, Yinzhi held a white goose kite, and Mingxiu looked up at the kite in Yinreng's hand with some speechlessness.
The kite that Yinreng made had a rolling pattern, but why would someone make a kite with only the face and not the body?

Mingxiu handed her kite to Xiaoxizi, and stood to the side with Luzhu, where the concubines were standing, watching Xiaoxizi and her entourage fly the kite in the distance.
Before long, all sorts of kites appeared in the sky, one or two after another soaring into the air. More and more kites appeared, some near and some far, some high and some low, and they were all different colors, but they made people feel happy just looking at them.
Emperor Kangxi and the Empress Dowager were also enjoying the scenery in front of them. The Empress Dowager sat beside them, and she, Sumaragu, and the Empress Dowager watched with smiles and discussed things from time to time.
Kangxi watched from the side, and even looked at Mingxiu's kite. When he saw what kind of kite Mingxiu had, he smiled speechlessly.
The final result was quite unexpected. The kite that Mingxiu saw at the top and furthest away was a bird of unknown species, and the other one was Rongxian's kite.
Surprisingly, the kites that flew the farthest were those of Xiao Hesheli and Rongxian, one big and one small.
The Emperor kept his word and rewarded each of them with a set of items. Mingxiu looked ahead curiously. Although she didn't care whether she won the competition or not, she was still very curious about the prizes.
Mingxiu glanced at the things Kangxi had prepared and seemed to be thinking. Kangxi had probably prepared two sets of things for the concubines and the children. The concubines' set consisted of some very ordinary ornaments and the like, but the princesses and princes' set included some ornaments, as well as some food, drinks and toys that were very much to the liking of children.
She turned to look at Yinreng and found him still laughing and talking with Yinti, showing no sign of sadness.
Seemingly noticing that Mingxiu was looking at him, Yinreng also turned his head to look at Mingxiu and smiled brightly. The child looked so healthy and radiant in the sunlight.
Mingxiu nodded in relief and said nothing more.
She was just there for fun; she'd never flown a kite before and was just doing it for the sake of it.
